Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 873: Chapter 41: Mission in Progress (3)

The benefits of being a player are quite obvious.

So after three days passed, Mr. G’s escape team not only didn’t diminish but instead grew. The first batch of revived players and those gradually joining the mission expanded ’Mr. G’s team to over a hundred groups, each fleeing in different directions.

However, the opponents weren’t any pushovers either. Not only were the Six Ministries involved, but each of the restored Super Corporations dispatched their military divisions to participate in the siege.

For a time, it seemed like the players were enemies of the world!

In a Mechanical City on a ’New Continent,’ several unfamiliar faces were casually strolling down the street.

Suddenly, hundreds of Mechanical Eyeliners were launched, attacking the few individuals who weren’t easy targets. One of them instantly swelled threefold, transforming into a B+-level Radiation Beast, standing in front of the other two. One of them pulled out an Electromagnetic Rifle, while the other brandished an Energy Shield. The three of them coordinated in tactical formation to kill dozens of Mechanical Eyeliners, breaking out of the city.

At that moment, a team of Corporate Warriors also surrounded them. Without a word, they continued to fight, and finally, with more and more personnel arriving, two out of the three players died, and the last one was captured.

”Tell us what you know—” a Corporate Warrior was just about to start the interrogation when the player let out a sinister laugh, his body glowing, then exploded violently.

Directly blasting the surrounding people into the sky.

...

Meanwhile, in the Virtual Level, densely packed Cyber Killers were chasing a virtual bus, and on the bus’s hood, a hacker player was recklessly charging through virtual nodes.

On the two rows of seats, seven or eight Neural Editors were editing the map, constantly creating new virtual maps.

The Cyber Killers were very powerful, quickly compressing the map to the extreme and even cutting off the network signal, forcing the opponent offline.

But the opponent was equally fierce, in reality, yanked out the network cable on the spot.

As a result, seven out of ten connected folks died on the spot, while the remaining three woke up with grimaces, and without a word, grabbed their ’coffins’ and evacuated.

A moment later, a wall surface suddenly displayed a piece of code, and as the code updated, Cyber Killers emerged one by one, upgrading from the lowest level Black Wings to Red Wings.

One of them looked at the body lying in the small rental room, squatted down, and reached into the person’s head, attempting to absorb his memory.

However, in the next moment, the Cyber Killer’s face changed, his body surface flickered with a mass of garbled codes, and uncontrollable gibberish overflowed, finally turning the whole person into data pus.

The remaining Cyber Killers looked at each other, one of them, expressionless, stated:

”High-concentration Data Virus.”

”The one who poisoned was the master persona.”

Generally, a Cyber Hacker carrying out a suicide attack would at most create a duplicate, never playing with the master persona.

The Cyber Killers shook their heads and returned to the data level.

...

Amidst a sea surface, over a hundred players were besieged by an entire Mechanical Legion, a dense array of energy radiance flashing here and there, taking away dozens of lives each time.

Ultimately, the surviving players resorted to suicidal attacks, madly rushing towards the Mechanical Legion.

The last blood-drenched player let out a wild laugh and directly hurled the ’Mr. G’s coffin’ across.

”If you want him, here you go!”

Before the coffin hit the ground, it exploded terrifyingly.

...

At a testing base within the Memory Supervision Department.

Several players, bound tightly, were being dissected for research.

’Brain-machine program parsing—’

’Brain imaging replication—’

’Memory system model establishment—’

One by one, Illusion brain structures were automatically generated from the replication instrument. However, when these structural models were halfway uploaded, a sizzling noise arose.

’Due to unknown errors, the system cannot parse, model crash, model crash.’

Soon, both the machines and human brains began to emit dense smoke.

”What’s happening?”

Several ghostly white figures floated in front of a player’s body, baffled.

”Body...memory...vanished”

”Living Dead 7.7%...Cerebral Apoplexy 11.3%...Vegetative State 5.5%...Mental Disorder 19.4%...”

The 4th Celestial Calamity has another major tactic, next to the ’Undying Body,’ called ’Offline Escape.’

Once offline, nothing could be detected from the player’s brain memory and thoughts.

Although by the late game, this tactic was cracked by Advanced Civilizations, even tracing it to the forums.

But it’s crucial to understand that Advanced Civilizations and Cyber Test Field are entirely different matters.

Advanced Civilization generally refers to Level 6 and above Cosmic Civilizations, and even the lowest Level 6 Civilization is known as Level 6 Celestial Civilization, holding a star system cluster’s cosmic resources comprising over a hundred star systems, where one star system contains around 100 billion planets.

Thus, Level 6 Civilization roughly controls 10 trillion planet resources.

Planet Civilization (Cyber Test Field) refers to the civilization of just one planet.

This is the disparity between their levels.

So, even the Cyber Test Field cannot leap across the Technology Tree and extract the player’s brain data.

Similar incidents kept occurring globally.

The Mechanical Split Star’s Cyber Test Field might be the first to enjoy the ’4th Celestial Calamity’ treatment; even in the previous life, ’Aramaki’ only issued missions to a few hundred players, yet one move from Mr. G swayed a million players.

The ’Manager’s power to issue missions, in a sense, is even stronger than the power of ’Cosmic Relic.’

...

On the S-Level Continent, old acquaintances like Red Flower Demon, Plane, I am a Big Muscle Dominator, and Eldest Brother Hui naturally acted together.

In the late stage of the Planet Plot, each of their fortunes varied.

Red Flower Demon became an Advanced Bionic Man, with his Transformation skin almost making him invisible in this environment.

I am a Big Muscle Dominator turned into a modification maniac, with his over three-meter tall semi-mechanical body loaded with weapons of various sizes.

Eldest Brother Hui became a player on the faction route, establishing a gang family with a business scope spanning several continents.

Unfortunately, one Cyber Tide swept over, severely damaging his losses, with branches mostly disconnected, almost reverting to pre-formation days.

Meanwhile, Plane underwent the most drastic change among them, and for a reason; he became the second player on this planet to reach level 60 and full level.

Note that even Brother Umbrella only became the third full-level player.

Plane’s strength largely came from practicing the Sunflower Manual, nurturing an A+ level Radiation Beast, a super giant eagle.

Mind you, even in the Du Gao Group, he ranks among the top Biological Hunters, if excluding NPCs, he’s unrivaled.

He’s the top-notch!!
