Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 887: Chapter 55: Cyber Tide 1

This human form was exceptionally peculiar, with its entire body composed of countless memory worms. Every memory worm’s brain was fully open, flickering with the radiance of neural currents. Under this illumination, the figure appeared like a humanoid brain network.

”Perhaps you don’t know me, but your wife surely does. Allow me to introduce myself; I’m the founder of the Dark Realm, and you may call me the Brain Machine Maker.”

Dark Realm?

Isn’t this member of the Skull Society?

In Gao Gong’s memory, the Dark Realm was the largest brainware cracking center on this planet and had significant conflicts with Director Du in the past. The reason was that they attempted underhand tactics to crack Du Gao Technology’s biological chips.

In return, Director Du also provided a complimentary service by carrying out aerial assaults on several of their underground markets.

Du Zhaodi had always wanted to decapitate their leader, but unfortunately, this person was very quick on his feet and never got caught. In the give and take, it dragged into the time of the Cyber Tide, leaving no time to deal with him.

When Gao Gong served as Minister of the Shell Mobile Division, he also wanted to resolve the members of the Skull Society to lessen the intensity of this Cyber Tide. However, it seemed like these people got wind of something and disappeared together, and the only one Gao Gong truly eliminated was Bandai of Fairy Tale Toy Land.

”So, are you working for the Memory Mother now?” asked Gao Gong with interest.

”Not at all, not at all. To be precise, all our members of the Skull Society are studying Mother’s technology. This is a super information technology developed based on rules surpassing the dimensional level of this planet. Once developed, it will change the world!”

”The Cyber Test Field can’t meet your research needs?”

”Certainly not enough. The current era is merely the Giant Corporation Era. Super corporations exploit massive capital and abundant research personnel, yet they do not advance, only aiming to dominate the market and develop service technology. A true ’super enterprise’ should seek transcendence—transcending the ethics, morals, and laws of this civilization, climbing the technology tree of more advanced civilizations at all costs.”

”Even if the price is yourselves?” Gao Gong retorted.

”Everything about us should be devoted to the God of Technology; this is the meaning of our existence,” the Brain Machine Maker declared devoutly.

”Then show me what interesting things you’ve developed.”

Cross-civilization technology, theoretically, is nearly impossible to develop, yet the situation is unique now. Everyone has become part of the Memory Mother, whose essence is composed of cosmic information spanning countless light years. It contains civilization technology information, chaotic and unsystematic but truly advanced civilization information.

The neural currents on this Brain Machine Maker intensified, and for a moment, the entire world seemed shrouded in currents.

Gao Gong immediately realized that the previous mass blackout was just the beginning, providing an excellent opportunity for this person to act.

The other party, through unknown technological means, suddenly linked up with all the electronic brains.

Gao Gong looked down and suddenly found the ground beneath his feet had disappeared, replaced by what seemed like endless meat paste.

His gaze fell on it, and his vision vanished.

Trying to hear something, his ears disappeared.

Attempting to smell something, his nose disappeared.

In a daze, the words of the Brain Machine Maker seemed to echo in his mind.

”True brain-machine cracking not only destroys the brain-machine but also returns human consciousness to the ocean of information.”

After all senses disappeared, this time, Gao Gong seemed to be submerged in the ocean, with everything dissolving within it.

This time, Gao Gong opened the system panel. For the first time, the system panel kept flickering, giving the impression of having no signal.

[You are under attack from special information technology ’information brain decomposition’, account cancellation in progress, account cancellation in progress——]

Damn it, Gao Gong didn’t expect to experience what players could only enjoy in the late game now—directly dragging consciousness into the Information Ocean, destroying the player’s ’Celestial Calamity’ attribute, a terrifying method, only second to Biological Can.

In the eyes of the Brain Machine Maker, after Gao Gong was hit by this move, his body instantly disintegrated. Soon, floating on the sea were the bodies of memory worms, fat and like arm-thick silkworm pupae, losing their most basic information attributes and becoming fossil-like existences.

This move could actually kill memory worms!

This is likely the first batch of memory worms to die on this planet. Not even the mighty Turing or the life-force-rich Planet Tree tried to kill the Tier 5 essence of the Mother in the Cyber Tide, only attempting to suppress it.

Though for the true essence of the Mother, these killed memory worms are nothing compared to the whole, being able to kill memory worms indeed poses some threat to the essence, which to some extent, stimulates the instinct of Memory Mother, causing it to instinctively retaliate.

And the only thing that can suppress this instinct is the will of this Cyber Wave.

The Electronic Brain Ghost appeared once more, gazing intently at the worm fossils for a moment, and said, ”He isn’t dead.”

”But all the worms on his body have completely disintegrated.”

”This isn’t all of him. Find his main body and keep killing!”

”I understand.”

The Electronic Brain Ghost turned around, the surrounding environment flickering with surreal changes. She arrived in front of a skyscraper belonging to a super corporation, its surface covered with countless black ants. In the air, larger molecular and atomic-sized ants were roaming, and even inside the human brain, more and more ants were crawling.

’Gao Yuanyuan’ furrowed her brows, staying silent. Quickly, her vision began to compress, and in a trance, she seemed to find herself inside an ant nest. The ants moved independently, without a queen, yet the ant society continued to operate in a peculiar manner.

Soon, the ants gathered before her, forming a human shape. The ants parted, revealing the features of Bionic A.

”You shouldn’t come out at this time,” ’Gao Yuanyuan’s’ voice was as cold and sharp as a demon, or rather, she herself was an information ghost residing in electronics.

”Why not? Aren’t I you?” Bionic A’s face displayed a strange expression. Although it was the same face, only ’Gao Yuanyuan’ could see it morphing frantically on a nano-scale, appearing as a single face, yet being countless faces.

Each bionic human was Bionic A, and each Bionic A was just any bionic human.

Over tens of billions of bionic human faces seemed condensed onto a single visage.

The further the Cyber Wave progressed, the closer it approached the chaotic essence of the Memory Mother. ’Gao Yuanyuan’ took a deep breath. She was a lifeless ghost, while the other had even discarded the concept of life.

His essence was a state of chaos.

”You will eventually replace me. No need to be in such a hurry.”

Each Cyber Tide nurtured a wave’s will. Although these wills came from the Memory Mother, their temperament varied, and their relationships were intriguingly not like siblings, nor multiple personalities. It was more like players taking turns at a video game as children, waiting for the others to ’die,’ yet each ’self’ tried to extend their playtime.

This was not about life or death, but purely for enjoyment.

However, deliberately ruining others’ play experiences just to elevate oneself, that was a bit too much.

”You seem restless. Have you encountered some troublesome opponent?”

Bionic A’s voice carried a hint of sarcasm, and ’Gao Yuanyuan’s’ expression grew hideous. Without you backing them, how could there be a will capable of resisting me?

The will of the Cyber Wave controlled everything. If not for the opponent, with just a wave of her hand, their will would disintegrate among billions of memory worms. But now, she couldn’t even enter the opponent’s brain, as their consciousness was also enveloped by a powerful Mother’s Will.

And this will could only be Bionic A.

’Gao Yuanyuan’ said nothing, her eyes suddenly turning ghostly white. The building vanished, the ground vanished, a mountain formed by countless skulls loomed, the black holes in their stares occasionally flashing with neural currents, carrying the burnt scent of ants.

And Bionic A once again transformed into an ant nest. However, this time, the ants frantically dug at the ground, creating grain-sized pits, soon vanishing into them.

’Gao Yuanyuan’ retracted her gaze.

The towering building before her disappeared, replaced by a giant pit, unfathomably deep, much like that war relic in the Other Shore of Freedom.

And these giant pits now dotted the globe.

’Gao Yuanyuan’ suddenly realized a significant portion of her Electronic Brain Authority had vanished.

The reason was clear: the planet’s largest post-civilization species, more than ten billion bionic humans, had suddenly all vanished.

Yet when she gazed into the micro realm, she discovered that on the nano scale, endless nanoworms had already enveloped the entire planet.

Conversely, now the Mechanical Split Star was the largest ant nest.

And occasionally, there would be a demolition, a Mechanical City crumbling and disappearing like smoke.

A denser Cyber Wave had emerged.

”So eager, aren’t you oversimplifying things?” ’Gao Yuanyuan’ paused, and wherever her gaze passed, matter disappeared, leaving only pure neural currents.

”I’m not full yet.”
