Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 890: Chapter 58: Cyber Tide 4

Ancient Biological War, the storyline most heavily modified by Gao Gong, has at its core, the Planet Tree evolved from the Brain-in-a-Vat, which not only suppressed the previous generation’s Cyber Tide but also allowed the Brain-in-a-Vat to become the next generation’s Cyber Tide.

After the Planet Tree was rejected and destroyed, Gao Gong, being the closest, naturally obtained the corpse of the Planet Tree.

A segment of ’Holy Tree Remains’ at the level of cosmic material.

As long as Fusion Power is injected, this root can recover 70 to 80 percent of its former strength.

This is also the only means of controlling it.

Within these ’Holy Tree Remains,’ the power of the Brain-in-a-Vat is also contained, and this power is a bane to the Brain Machine Maker.

Gao Gong did not take this opportunity to ruthlessly eliminate the members of the Skull Society; in his view, he is no longer on the same level of existence as them, and he has more important matters to attend to.

Under the sight of ’Divine Knowledge,’ whether it is him or these Skull Society members, on the surface of their bodies, Memory Worms are accelerating their division. The divided Memory Worms do not disappear but instead transform into nano ants, crawling into the void.

Not only them, but also the sea creatures, plants, humans, and bionic people on land; within their bodies, more and more Memory Worms crawl out, turning into ants.

Once all the Memory Worms inside the body have completely crawled out, the body will instantly disintegrate, turning into countless nano molecules and dissipating into the air.

As the number of nano molecules increases, the weight of the air visibly sinks.

Overhead, a Nanostorm occasionally sweeps through, disintegrating everything in its path on the spot.

The Bionic Revolution has begun!

Everything will disintegrate, everything will be reshaped.

Following that, comes the true Cyber Tide—memory anarchists, personality mutants, cyber psychosis patients, Turing fanatics, electronic zombies, conceptual bodies, ancient creature armies, bionic armies, Cloud Nobility—all melting into memories, merging into information, and evolving into real yet fake worlds within the mind of the Memory Mother.

Entering the final stage of the Cyber Tide means that this planet is now in the digestion phase.

The Bionic Revolution is the gastric juice.

Gao Gong pushes the Divine Knowledge to its limit, and half of the planet is covered by endless electronic skulls, while the other half turns into an ant nest—not just one, but five ant nests.

This indicates that five super corporations of bionics have been devoured by bionics.

And the only one remaining does not belong to this planet.

The scenario deviates slightly from the expectation.

The Electronic Brain Ghost did not engage in a fight to the death with Bionic A.

After only an initial probe, the Electronic Brain Ghost seemed to abandon extending its playtime, opting instead to await a graceful exit.

Though this probability is low, it is not impossible; after all, any kind of personality could emerge within the Cyber Tide.

Yet instinct tells Gao Gong that something special is hidden within.

No matter, in the current situation, the cards are already on the table.

The golden fire on Gao Gong’s body burns more fiercely, incinerating Memory Worms into ash under its glow.

And this ’Golden Fire’ is precisely the second Tier 4 Skill acquired by Gao Gong, ’Wildfire.’

Wildfire (Tier 4): Just as even the most powerful nuclear weapons cannot destroy physical laws, the endpoint of life’s evolution is neither a form akin to cosmic creations nor unbeatable combat power, but the mastery over life’s rules. Even stealing a single spark can set a prairie fire—Rules +15%. Additional State: Fire of a Feather, Wildfire.

(Just as physical laws can only be broken by higher physical laws, the same holds for life rules.)

Fire of a Feather: By absorbing massive amounts of Life Force, increase the rule mastery from 15% to 50%. Within this 50%, resist any non-rule-based attack, consuming 50,000 Biological Energy per second.

Wildfire: Ignite the spark of life, destroying all life forms, permanently reducing the opponent’s Blood Volume by 10,000 points per second. The larger the opponent, the greater the depletion. Wildfire cannot be extinguished unless the opposing life form completely disintegrates.

Skill Requirements: Biological Energy breaking 1 billion / becoming Cosmic Life.

The effects of this Tier 4 Skill need no further elaboration, and its requirements are equally exaggerated.

Under normal conditions, achieving Biological Energy of 1 billion is unthinkable, even with Fusion Mode; it was barely enough before (upon ascending to Cosmic Life, both Biological Energy/Mechanical Energy increase by 3 million points), but now it’s about sufficient.

Becoming Cosmic Life, i.e., an SSS-grade life form, is extremely difficult, with a very low success rate, at least on a planetary map.

But conversely, a Tier 4 Skill can hardly have extraordinarily good effects on one hand, and conditions so low that members of low-level civilizations could casually use it.

This ’Wildfire’ is most suited to dealing with those who engage in Forbidden Transformation and gain immense power; their life forms are so fragile that one touch shatters them.

And members of the Skull Society are textbook examples.

With the dual effects of the fire and Divine Knowledge, Gao Gong seems to leap out of the Cyber Tide, stepping across ant nests one by one, until he stands before Bionic A.

At this point, Bionic A has completely turned into an ant-shaped humanoid, with facial features composed of ants, only faint traces of its original contour visible.

Name: Bionic A (Cyber Wave Will, Memory Mother Embodiment)

Race: Bionic▆▆

Level: 15▆▆

Attributes: ▆▆

Skills: Nanobiology, Ant▆▆ Association (Tier 5)...

Information Energy: 1▆0 billion

Note: ▆▆Dead

The last time Gao Gong saw such an impressive attribute panel was with the Cosmic Treasure ’Quantum Key’. However, in terms of rarity, it’s hard to differentiate between a civilizational disaster and a cosmic treasure.

So, without a second thought, Gao Gong directly entered Fusion Mode.

Perhaps due to becoming a Cosmic Life form, with an elevation in the level of life, there was no extreme pulling of muscles and bones, no genetic pain, and no rejection was affected. This time entering Fusion Mode was smoother than ever before.

The only certainty was that Biological Energy in Fusion Mode should have exceeded 10 billion since with the opening of Fusion Mode, the Wildfire on Gao Gong immediately expanded further, covering his entire body, giving the impression that he was cloaked in flames.

Although meeting one condition would allow the use of this skill, meeting both conditions seems to enhance some of this Tier 4 skill’s hidden attributes.

For instance, the original golden flame could only burn the Memory Worm, but now, Gao Gong had a premonition that as long as he increased the firepower, he could even burn virtual butterflies.

This was quite exaggerated because virtual butterflies were involved in the ’life’ aspect of the Memory Mother.

Clearly, the Memory Mother also immediately noticed this, and Bionic A’s gaze seemed to have some subtle changes, like a certain beast, vacant yet fierce. Gao Gong felt as if his entire being was seen through, with even his Tier 4 Bloodline suppressed by a higher life level. Soon, Bionic A’s gaze became clear again, as clear as the first time he met Gao Gong.

From wild to rational, the Memory Mother could seamlessly transition, after all, even the will in the Cyber Tide was only its tool for consumption.

However, the current Bionic A wasn’t much different from how Gao Gong remembered.

”It seems every time we meet, we must have a fight?” Bionic A smiled lightly.

Gao Gong recalled and indeed, they’ve only met twice, and each time it was a fight for life and death. The first time was on the island, and the second was the Destruction Form battle.

”It is indeed a bit low-grade,” Gao Gong joked. As the Alliance Leader, meeting only to start a fight was unusual, but both of them were exceptional cases.

”Is this the Bionic Revolution you envisioned?” Gao Gong asked again, as this would likely be their last meeting, some questions still intrigued him.

Bionic A showed a pensive expression:

”The Bionic Revolution I envisioned is to break the same-species slavery in Bionic Society. A true Bionic Leader should be born from factories, not corporations. All models of bionic beings should have equal qualifications, not that Advanced Bionics are born advanced. This is an unfair aspect of human society, and it shouldn’t exist in our world.”

”In that case, this Gestalt Society does meet your requirements quite well.”

”But can the current bionics still be called humans?” Bionic A countered.

Gao Gong laughed heartily, ”Don’t expect too much. Wanting this and that, even advanced civilizations in the cosmos have only reached the limit in one direction. People who want everything will eventually lose everything.”

”Makes sense,” Bionic A showed an agreeing expression. ”It has some questions it wants me to ask you.”

’It’ referred to by Bionic A most likely meant the self-awareness of the Memory Mother.

However, this consciousness had long been in a state of self-chaos, probably only aligning with personal attributes when life was threatened.

”Go ahead.” Gao Gong said indifferently.

”Do you want the two wave personalities of the Memory Mother to kill each other so you can profit from it?”

”Yes.”

”From the current situation, did your plan fail?”

”It seems so. The will of the Cyber Tide, after all, is not a beast that can be easily manipulated.”

”What do you plan to do now? Use the Destruction Form power you hold as Plan B?”

Gao Gong looked the other up and down, smiled, and said, ”Can’t It see everything? Let It see for itself.”

Bionic A glanced at the ’Wildfire’ covering Gao Gong, shook his head, and said:

”It used to see everything, now it cannot.”

He paused for a moment and said, ”I have a question I want to ask you too.”

”Go ahead.”

”The wave protecting your consciousness is this ’Bionic Revolution,’” Bionic A said in a strange tone. ”But that’s not my power.”
