Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 874: Chapter 42: Civilization Gap

Red Flower Demon, Plane, I am a Big Muscle Dominator, Eldest Brother Hui

This four-person team also carried a ’Mr. G’.

”It’s strange, clearly there are no Radiation Beasts, so why is this damn place so dangerous?”

I am a Big Muscle Dominator muttered.

Although using any detectable communication methods was impossible, just browsing a forum would let you know the status of other teammates.

There were about ten Mr. G protection teams left on the S-Level Continent.

But now, less than half of them can still move.

Most crucially, these wiped-out teams weren’t chased to death, they just mysteriously disappeared.

”Plane, what do you think?”

Although Plane cultivated the Sunflower Manual, he only switched from wired to wireless, rather than the self-destructive, in a way, his masculine vigor was even better, so unlike former hero Yue Buqun, Lin Certain, he didn’t turn effeminate but instead gained a mature man’s melancholy, which made it very easy for him to increase female npc’s favorability.

”There’s something off about the Radiation Ecology here.”

”What’s off?”

Plane laid his palm on a big tree, without a visible action, and the tree ’cracked’ and broke into two halves.

”Whoa, Plane, did you turn into an Inner Martial Arts Expert?”

I am a Big Muscle Dominator was shocked, even for a Mechanical Modified Person like himself, breaking a tree bare-handed without using weapons was very difficult.

”This is a small biological energy trick, life force decomposition,” Plane explained, then pointed to the tree’s cross-section, ”Can you see anything special?”

The few of them exchanged looks, and finally, veteran strongman Eldest Brother Hui noticed something amiss.

”This tree, no radiation?”

”Yeah, no radiation.”

”It grew so thick without radiation?” Red Flower Demon, who was ahead scouting, returned, curiously examining the tree, thick enough for three people to embrace, with bulging veins on the trunk and coiling roots like dragons, giving off the impression of a fitness hunk among trees, it’s indeed weird for such a tree to lack radiation energy.

Plane opened his palm, revealing a small bird’s beak that pecked off a piece of wood chip and swallowed it.

Although the beak was tiny, like a living bead, the strong aura of an A+ Level Radiation Beast still pushed the three people a step back.

”Human-Machine Unity, tsk tsk, had I known, I would have joined you,” Red Flower Demon envied.

I am a Big Muscle Dominator glanced down sorrowfully, ”I’m already a Mechanical Man, no chance to alter anymore.”

”You two really are—” Eldest Brother Hui said wordlessly.

”There’s nothing to change now, I can’t even find my own alliance anymore.”

As the great flood receded, all the Super Corporations began to gradually recover, but only the Du Gao Group was missing.

If not for the fact that in the player panel, under the alliance, ’Du Gao Group’ hadn’t disappeared, Plane would doubt if his alliance wasn’t gone like the cross-continental gang managed by Boss Hui during the upheaval.

”Wait!”

Plane snapped back to focus, put his hands into his mouth and a whistle rang out, moments later the sky darkened, a terrifying radiation energy overshadowed like dark clouds, pressing down on the three, the black glow was so tangible that even as Level 50 big bosses, their expressions slightly changed.

In jargon, this was a boss with an Alliance Template.

This giant eagle, comparable to a Sky Carrier, slowly lowered a wing, as Plane boarded, he turned and said:

”I think I’ve found something, but I need to confirm it, you guys camp here, I’ll be back tonight.”

”Hey, let me have a ride too, I’ve never ridden an A+ Level Radiation Beast!” Red Flower Demon shouted.

Plane glanced back and gave him the middle finger.

”Haven’t you heard the saying?” He paused and said, ”Friend’s plane, can’t ride!”

Saying that, Plane flew straight up, turning into a small black dot in the sky.

”Tsk tsk, who would’ve thought,” Red Flower Demon marveled.

”Yeah, who would’ve thought,” I am a Big Muscle Dominator echoed.

Everyone used to be losers, oh, now not as much, but still, they squatted in the same pit at one time, so they somewhat knew each other’s level.

For instance, Brother Umbrella undoubtedly looked like a future big player, with such sharp operations, just two words, invincible!

But Plane, with ordinary operations, mostly would just make it into frontline teams, positioned at the bottom, but who knew he’d soar, truly one can’t predict fortune.

As for another big boss, it’s a completely opposite situation.

”Boss Hui, what do you plan for the future? Want to team up with us for monster grinding?”

The three set up camp nearby, making fire, mixing jokes and jests.

Considering Red Flower Demon’s invitation, Eldest Brother Hui thought seriously for a moment but still shook his head.

”Thanks, but I still want to try forming my own alliance, like Baozi.”

”What’s so good about being like Baozi, don’t be fooled by his glamorous appearance, when he’s giving out equipment and Mechanical Coins, he’s gritting his teeth.”

This is a game, and there’s no real-money players, meaning recruiting is entirely based on in-game Money Power; although Baozi looks glamorous, able to summon over a hundred people with a shake, once Master Bao’s Money Power runs out, it’s only a matter of time before it falls apart.

In response to I am a Big Muscle Dominator’s and Red Flower Demon’s doubts and confusion, Boss Hui shook his head and explained:

”I’m not trying to show off in-game, I just feel there’s a very correct way to play this game, but many players haven’t discovered it yet.”

”Like forming a power like Baozi? Surely not to build a civilization, right? Come on, Boss, you don’t want to spend your whole life in a game, do you.”

Boss Hui shook his head without answering.

Although the official introduction to the game ’Cyber Realm’ was sparse, there was still certain information: like the numerous civilizations in the Cosmos, civilizations need to ascend after Level 4, players not joining a civilization have a level cap at 90, unlocking further levels only post-ascension.

And most crucially, the division of civilization levels.

On the official forum, there’s a dedicated page explaining the differences between the nine civilization levels.

Level 1 Civilization: Planet Civilization

Level 2 Civilization: Planet System Civilization

Level 3 Civilization: Star Zone Civilization

Level 4 Civilization: Star System Civilization

Level 5 Civilization: Star System Group Civilization — a group with about 50 star systems

Level 6 Civilization: Star Cluster Civilization — a group with hundreds of star systems, such as the Virgo Star Cluster

Level 7 Civilization: Supercluster Civilization — a system comprising hundreds of star clusters and star system groups

Level 8 Civilization: Supercluster Complex Civilization — possessing 50 to 100 superclusters

Level 9 Civilization: Involving cosmic voids + Cosmic Great Wall

This introduction truly shocked players across all forums.

The main thing is that this introduction is utterly ridiculous!

Players still have some basic common sense.

For example, Planet Civilization, it’s easy to understand, it’s just a planet, right?

Planet System Civilization is also somewhat comprehensible, similar to the Solar System, with seven, eight, nine planets.

Then when it comes to Level 3 Civilization, which is a Star Zone Civilization, the scale suddenly starts to feel absurd.

A star zone, say one of the Galaxy Arms, has about 20 to 30 billion fixed stars.

Level 2 Civilization, 10 planets

Level 3 Civilization, 20 to 30 billion fixed stars

Billion!!??

Are you kidding me!

Players can’t imagine what level they have to reach to become a Star-Bursting Powerhouse.

And even a Star-Bursting Powerhouse would be utterly exhausted facing a Level 3 Civilization.

If you’re given a billion planets, if you have the ability, just come and hammer away.

If you break it, it’s my responsibility, if not, it’s yours.

That’s why players often suspect that when the game enters outer space, it’ll become a texture mode.

Where are you going to get so many maps for players to create? Are you using a game engine or a creation engine?

You believe this?

Have you ever played the famous planet exploration game ”Starry Sky?”

Have you read the novel by the author with consistently disappointing endings, Street Worm?

In conclusion, most players share this viewpoint.

So, in both past and present lifetimes, players taking the civilization route make up less than 0.001%, and even those who stubbornly play to the late game merely hover around the fringes of a Level 3 Civilization.

That in itself is quite challenging.

Unless you can obtain unimaginable development funds early on.

Like getting famous across the cosmos by selling booklets, something like that.

Players like Red Flower Demon and Big Muscle Dominator, although they aren’t quite aware of the specifics, understand one thing well.

It’s good to lean on a big tree for shade.

For example, a plane.

If not for the Du Gao Group’s biotechnology, forget self-castration, even seppuku would be utterly useless.

But now, tut-tut, once the eagle rises with the wind, it soars up 90,000 miles.

Thus, in the future, most players’ thoughts won’t differ much from those in the ’Newbie Village.’

Level up, fight monsters, join a civilization after reaching full level, switch professions, continue leveling up and fighting, and so on.

However, they overlook one thing, which is that civilizations above Level 3, the Ascension Civilizations, unless it’s a matter of life and death for the civilization, won’t easily allow outsiders to join.

Right as these few old friends were bragging, the sky darkened as the plane returned.

The plane leapt down directly from the sky, and a pair of wings sprouted from its shoulder blades, allowing it to descend in a striking pose.

”Tsk tsk, having an A+ level Radiation Beast as a pet is really great, its bloodline allows any part of your body to transform for free.”

I am a Big Muscle Dominator felt enviously jealous.

”Stop calling me Big Muscle Dominator, you’re the real Big Muscle Dominator.”

The plane ignored him, his expression was somewhat strange and serious as he organized his words.

”I’ve discovered a very special situation, need to tell you all.”

”Speak.”

”I circled the S-Level Continent a big round, inspected hundreds of big trees, and discovered a fact,” he paused, saying, ”that is, there’s no Radiation Plants on this continent.”

I am a Big Muscle Dominator instinctively replied: ”If there aren’t any, there aren’t any, what’s the big deal?”

But Red Flower Demon and Eldest Brother Hui initially froze, then their expressions gradually turned serious.

Red Flower Demon replied:

”So this means, on this continent, not only are there no Radiation Beasts, there are no Radiation Plants either, so where’s the radiation coming from?”

”Not sure,” the plane shook his head, saying: ”But I sorta understand how to wake up Mr. G.”

...

The plane’s message quickly arrived in front of Advisor Bao.

”So what we salvaged isn’t Mr. G’s physical body, but Mr. G’s real body is actually this S-Level Continent beneath our feet!?”

Baozi was stunned by the plane’s speculation.

Your imagination is so rich, it would be such a waste not to write web novels.
