Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 857: Chapter 25: 13-Level Space

Since the fusion of cyberspace and the real world, people in reality can freely enter and exit both virtual and real worlds.

This virtual space is not entirely virtual, but a secondary presentation of visual perception.

People can feel everything in the virtual realm, while their feet remain firmly on the ground.

This is a higher level of virtual reality.

However, under the operation of the young lady Ryan, the three of them discovered that, unknowingly, their physical bodies were gone, leaving only their consciousness-formed virtual personalities.

”Hey, follow me. We don’t know which layer we’ve fallen into, going back is quite troublesome.”

Eliza took the lead, Hongxin quickly followed behind, and Ryan pursed her thin lips, finally behaving and stepped forward too.

Originally, under the hacking of the beautiful girl, the surrounding space was all a mosaic, with a great deal of neural electric signals and electronic radiance in the distance.

But as the three walked, at some point, a normal world gradually formed, with streets, pedestrians, and vehicles, but no flying cars, no aerial tracks, and no skyscrapers piercing the clouds.

This was a world with a civilization intensity approximately at the level of the Second Industrial Revolution.

”Let me see, fortunately, we didn’t fall too deep,” the chubby girl glanced around, nodded, and entered a phone booth by the roadside.

”Is this virtual space layered?” Hongxin asked curiously.

”Yes, it’s layered, a layered virtual space, more suitable for nurturing a civilized ecosystem.”

The chubby girl wiped her hands, picked up the phone, and dialed a number.

Soon, the environment around the two changed. The real street disappeared, replaced by countless sensors, transistors, sensory signal control platforms, and data collection systems, with lab coats busy at the stations.

”I was wondering who it was, it’s you again, chubby girl. Didn’t I tell you this world is still in testing, don’t run around,”

a young man in a lab coat said, relieved to see the three youths coming out of the phone booth.

”I thought another virtual personality had self-awakened and broken through this layer.”

”Haha, don’t worry, Brother Liu, we’re leaving now, we’re leaving,”

’Brother Liu’ waved his hand and continued his work.

Ryan couldn’t help but sneak a glance at the screen and found that on the control platform were densely packed personal data being classified, stored, indexed, containing their age, gender, profession, personal physique, political inclination, and so on.

”There are two types of people who get discovered and leave the virtual space to enter reality. One type is a specialist in a particular field of research, and the other is a self-aware consciousness with which discovers this world is false. After determining there’s no problem with the awakening, they will be brought out.”

Eliza said casually.

’Brother Liu’ couldn’t help but say, ”Don’t say too much, be careful Sister Yuanyuan doesn’t scold you.”

”Haha, don’t worry, they’re all friends.”

”So, are these people imprisoned in virtual space, with no freedom day and night, are they just data for you to handle?” Ryan couldn’t help but say.

As soon as she said that, not only ’Brother Liu’, but even the other lab coats turned to stare at her, eyes weird.

One of the lab coats looked her up and down, asked, ”Cyber Hacker?”

”She is a Cyber Hacker and also the sister of Terria,” Eliza said quickly, pointing to her head, ”She just came here, hasn’t adjusted yet?”

”No wonder.”

”That thought of yours is a bit dangerous.”

”Cyberspace is free; one billion unnatural deaths of data bodies a year, do you want that kind of freedom?”

”If you were below, there’s a ten out of ten chance you’d be marked as dangerous and need surgery.”

At this point, even Eliza didn’t dare to take her wandering anymore, who knows what explosive statements this hacker girl would come up with.

She hurriedly dragged the other out the door.

Surprisingly, outside wasn’t reality either, but a ground composed of neural signals.

And the lab coats were gone.

This seemed to be another virtual world.

”Isn’t this reality?” Ryan said again, this little Barbie doll probably had a one-track mind, or maybe had been alone too long, completely oblivious to the atmosphere.

”Most likely not, it should be another virtual layer,” Hongxin pondered.

The chubby girl stepped on the neural signal ground and rapidly transformed into a human form of data, the other two imitating and also turned into human-shaped data.

”Originally, we wanted to create a ’Sea of Data’ like cyberspace, but our Sister Yuanyuan thought for a long time and ultimately decided against it.”

”Why?”

”Two reasons. One, we are purely artificial data space, don’t need to connect to reality all the time, so naturally, there’s no need to create such a large data access layer.”

”Secondly, we want to try cultivating some conceptual bodies with big data, which also needs a lot of data as nourishment, making a Sea of Data would be a bit wasteful.”

Ryan thought for a moment, adding the ’Reality Layer’, ’Control Layer’, and the current ’Big Data Layer’, said: ”So, you’re saying this is a three-layer virtual space?”

”To be precise, there are five layers in total, and in fact, the plan is that a complete virtual space should have 13 layers.”

”What are the other two layers?” Ryan asked persistently.

Eliza didn’t answer directly; instead, she looked at the little Shota and asked with interest, ”What do you think?”

Hongxin pondered for a moment and said:

”There should be one layer, similar to the ’Cyber Killer’ data guardian layer, responsible for the security of the entire 13-Layered Space.”

”Correct!”

Before Ryan could continue to ask, Eliza’s eyes lit up, ”Found it!”

In the grid not far away, there were three human bodies respectively, locked in the electronic grid.

Eliza snapped her fingers, and three square electronic grids opened, sealing the three bodies within the electronic grid.

”Watch carefully!”

Eliza jumped up on the spot, and an awkward incident happened; her chubby belly got stuck on the electronic grid, only half of her jumped down.

Not only did the little Shota twitch the corner of his eye, but even the straightforward Ryan couldn’t help but reveal a slight smile.

”Uh, help me, press it.”

...

In a certain abandoned cyber cafe in reality, the cafe was full of some ’fake Network Implantation Chambers.’ These implantation chambers were covered in dust; they looked like network devices but were actually ’brain-machine mining devices’ with backdoor software installed.

Your brain is a ’data mine.’

Yagami Suuji was standing in front of a platform, making final preparations.

A knock on the door sounded.

”Come in.”

A man in a suit, so pale his skin seemed transparent, walked in; under the sunlight, he appeared to almost vanish.

This man was the Memory Supervision Department - Former Alien Life Observation Agency - Agent number 1002.

Number 1002 looked at the other person, shook his head, and said, ”Ghost and Dark Shadow can’t participate.”

Yagami Suuji frowned. In the United Squad, these two were actually the most skilled at infiltration. However, during the Cyber Tide, one was affected by ’Personality Reset,’ and the other by ’cyber psychosis,’ rendering them unusable before they had even infiltrated.

”Supercomputer Type 8, can you still contact the Fortress?”

A cold voice echoed in the implanted earphones.

”I can, but I suggest you move faster, or we’ll lose more members in our squad.”

”What do you mean?” Yagami Suuji frowned and asked.

”Recent information.”

’Beep beep,’ two sounds, Yagami Suuji received the information transmitted by the other party.

’Corporate Will backlash, over ten thousand employees died unexpectedly,’ ’Corporate Will cleared the database, billion-dollar company assets erased,’ ’Super AI disappeared, data processing centers closed,’ ’A Super Data Building in Mother City caught fire, death toll unknown.’

”A new wave is descending, targeting the ’big data masters,’ and coincidentally, I am one of them.”

”Moreover, this wave is obviously more intelligent compared to other waves; have you not received the news? The super intelligence of Six Ministries is simultaneously under attack; the situation is hard to say now.”

Yagami Suuji’s expression changed slightly.

”Being able to attack the body of the monitoring intelligence means the signal transmission can penetrate from the crust to the Earth Core. With the information technology of this planet, it’s impossible to achieve,” number 1002 spoke.

”Do you mean there is Alien Life?”

”This possibility cannot be ruled out. From my years of investigation, many alien forces began to lurk during World War II; the Cloud Nobility is the heavy disaster area.”

Yagami Suuji was silent for a while, then said:

”The arrow is on the string, we have no choice but to fire.”

”With our power, we can’t stop the ’Monster under the Starry Sky.’ Only by rescuing the real Fortress and restarting the planetary defense system can we resist the crisis from the Cosmos!”

Yagami Suuji zipped up her luggage bag, hefted it onto her back, and number 1002 silently walked behind her; soon, other members appeared one after another, including Desperate Realm, Living Dead, Artificial Body, etc. They were the elite among the elites of Six Ministries. Preparing for nearly half a year, the special operation they prepared was targeted at this planet’s Planet Host.

...

Meanwhile, in the Deep Sea Zone of the Information Ocean, War slowly opened its eyes, its eyes flashing with countless war scenes, each scene representing the war history of this planet.

Ultimately, the scene froze at the moment the empire was destroyed.

”I am the Artificial Intelligence of the empire; I will avenge the empire.”

Undersea, sky, continent, one after another SS-Level Radiation Beast was awakened, the command from the Information Ocean was only one: as the Cloud Nobility descended, clear the Mechanical Legion around the Fortress.

...

Almost simultaneously, ’Cloud City,’ this large Orbital Space Station, slowly sailed into the radiation layer, entering this planet once more since being banished.
