Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 888: Chapter 56: Cyber Tide 2

’We swear to separate life from evolution, purely using technological means.’

’We swear that any existence that hinders us from stepping toward real cosmic power, including ourselves, will be destroyed by us.’

’We swear that law, ethics, morality, faith, race, power, feelings, everything that can be controlled, must be stripped from our lives.’

’Our pursuit, which is also an eternal pursuit, is beneath this starry sky, within this cosmos, to become part of the ultimate life through technological means. Personal will, the shackles of evolution, and technological bottlenecks cannot stop our steps. Having chosen this path means choosing the death of ourselves, and this death will be a new beginning, the beginning of the Skull Society!’

The Brain-Machine Maker suddenly recalled the oath he made when he first joined the Skull Society.

Not everyone is implanted with a Thought Steel Seal at the start.

Especially after he cracked this ’Thought Steel Seal’ technology, he realized that even the Thought Steel Seal is not infallible. Although it’s proclaimed as an ’unchangeable personality fixation technology,’ a slight adjustment in encryption technology can interfere with the direction of the ’Thought Steel Seal.’

But just like a fallen member of the Skull Society once told him—when he chose this path, he gradually believed in these oaths. Without any technological means, the crazy evolution itself is the best spiritual drug. Once you enter, you completely stop thinking about turning back.

Evolution!

Control!

Out of control!

Mastery!

Sooner or later, they will develop a device to completely absorb the ’Memory Mother,’ and even the Cyber Tide will only be a stepping stone toward higher levels for them.

His vision kept changing; sometimes it was deep sea water, sometimes the water disappeared, replaced by a dense swarm of worms, as if each drop of water was composed of Memory Worms. After a while, both water and worms vanished, replaced by cosmic light streams, the creation of fixed stars, rapid rotation of pulsars, collapse of star bodies into black holes, Einstein-Rosen bridges, some strange alien races, and some vague information about advanced civilizations.

It is said that advanced civilizations can encrypt their civilization information.

This is not the focus; the focus is on the very peculiar visual senses of the Memory Mother. It can even capture information from light-years away, and what it sees is what it gets.

The Brain-Machine Maker felt he must equip himself with such a set.

Finally, he reached the seabed, completely dark, with no light whatsoever. However, aided by the Memory Mother’s vision, he could see the raging flames burning hidden in the sea bed.

The fossil in his hand seemed to sense the heat as well; the shell cracked, and the same flames started burning within.

He had seen these flames before when the Planet Tree suppressed the earlier stage of the Memory Mother, those raging flames burning at the crown of that tree.

That was an SSS+ Level flame.

Now, beneath the deep sea, the same flames are reenacting.

He felt it might be difficult to drag such a powerful life form into the Information Ocean all at once.

Fortunately, the Skull Society was never a solo endeavor for him.

”Release Bandai.”

Accompanied by the Brain-Machine Maker’s voice, the already pitch-black environment became even darker. This darkness was no longer the black of color but a domain that repelled life.

Bandai was long dead, and now Bandai is the Death God.

Even the SSS Level flame below gradually dimmed as the darkness spread.

The Death God appeared.

The Death God wore a black cloak and carried a scythe, indistinguishable from myths and legends. However, only with the Memory Mother’s vision can one see that this Death God is composed of countless Memory Butterflies, especially the scythe, which is a combination of wings of millions of butterflies in a life form that cannot be described.

As a ’Tier 5 Information Life,’ the Memory Worms are Mother’s ’information’ portion, while Virtual Butterflies are Mother’s ’life’ portion.

Once mastery over life is gained, naturally, life can also be stripped away.

As the scythe rose high, the Brain-Machine Maker felt every bone in his body tense, seemingly with sweat ready to drip from his forehead.

Neither existed.

But he understood, this was the illusion of death.

And as the scythe swung, the next moment, the fire was like melting snow, where it once suppressed the Mother’s will, it disappeared into pure darkness.

Did he die?

The Brain-Machine Maker displayed a hesitant expression.

The Death God can instantly kill all beings below Tier 3, even if they are members of an Ascension Civilization. Unless their Ascension Talent is sufficiently restrictive, they can still be killed by the special abilities brought by the ’Memory Butterfly’.

It’s important to note that when the Memory Mother was drifting in the cosmos, it absorbed not only various cosmic information. Among them, there were some advanced spaceships and civilization fleets that encountered it, and once they entered its range, everything would be decomposed into the most fundamental information.

Among these, there were members of an Ascension Civilization.

The term civilization calamity is not used lightly.

...

For members of the Skull Society, Mr. G has always been a nuisance. Even a Super Corporation hasn’t caused them so much trouble.

From the perspective of an Electronic Brain Ghost, Mr. G is equally troublesome. They are fully aware that without Mr. G, the previous Cyber Waves wouldn’t have evolved so quickly.

As for dealing with a monster like the Memory Mother, these members of the Skull Society can only imagine it, far from actual operation; however, Mr. G seems to have already begun practical action.

”Slash once more.”

The Brain-Machine Maker suddenly said.

The Death God had long turned into a pure command-executing machine. Upon hearing the order, without a second thought, the death domain opened up once more, stripping away every trace of life it touched, sending a chilling touch of death rushing forward.

However, this time, the Scythe of Death was blocked.

It seemed like a hand, but the Brain-Machine Maker did not clearly see it.

Because his horizon was already enveloped by dense flames.

Similar to the flame tree crown that once covered the radiation layer, only this time, it ignited the deep sea. Be it nuclear elements or energy elements, both are heavy elements. During WWII, the substances that could be decomposed and emitted during nuclear fission had already been decomposed, drifting into the radiation layer, while those hard to decompose settled at the seabed. That is why the number of Radiation Beasts in the sea is much higher than on land.

And now, within these golden flames, elements that hadn’t decomposed a hundred years ago were decomposed once again. For a moment, the sea split into two, the upper half water, the lower half fire. With more and more underwater volcanoes being triggered, magma spewed forth, and the affected area might widen even further.

What’s more astounding is that from within these underwater flames, there flew more and more Virtual Butterflies. On their wings, flames fiercely burned. Their numbers even exceeded the number of butterflies on the ’Death God’.

These butterflies were ejected from the sea of fire, forming streams of Flame Storms that swept all around. Seeing this precarious situation, the Brain-Machine Maker quickly disintegrated into countless worms, and then reconstituted on the sea surface.

At this moment, the sea surface was already like a boiling pot, steaming with boiling steam. The steam’s range was immense, as the Brain-Machine Modifier gazed, it felt like entering a gaseous planet.

”Failed?!” A huge shadow appeared within the mist.

”Hard to say.”

The neural currents in the Brain-Machine Modifier’s body lit up once again, seemingly traveling through space. But soon, he let out a muffled grunt, his whole body flickering with electric light, as if about to extinguish at any moment.

”Weren’t their virtual means already exhausted?” That massive shadow spoke again.

”Not... virtual means.”

Everyone now knows that Mr. G has mastered a slew of elusive hacker techniques. If paired with a Planet Host, he would be almost invincible on this planet. And indeed, the facts have proven so. Even Cyber Killers have been successively suppressed, and there are hardly any cloud databases in the Mother City that are still operational.

Therefore, the Electronic Brain Ghost would use tactics that harm the enemy by a thousand and self-damage by eight hundred. Yet, it doesn’t quite count as self-damaging by eight hundred. For her, being an Electronic Brain Ghost, whether the brain-machine is on or off makes no difference. She can still be elusive anywhere in the world.

The shadow let out a heavy breath again, scattering the surrounding mist away, revealing its true form.

It was Boss Mas Sharpness, but unfortunately, except for that iconic ugly face, the rest of his body had entirely disappeared, replaced by a giant composite Mechanical Body, looking chaotic, like a massive ball hung with various machines. At a glance, it appeared larger than some civilization architectures by three No. 3 sizes.

More crucially, on the surface of this giant sphere, it emitted the peculiar and terrifying aura of civilization architecture, not just one. If there were mechanical energy detection equipment, it would easily be detectable that the mechanical energy on it still exceeded a billion, reaching the ’planet mechanism’ standard.

”It’s about to come out,” Boss Mas, who had fused into the Super Machine, suddenly said offhandedly.

At the same level, energy has an inherently mutual perception.

And now, he sensed it, a Biological Energy more powerful than his own.

Sure enough, the Flame Butterflies were ejected from the mist, tangled together, forming a Human Form. The Cyber Wave fluctuations from this humanoid even involuntarily caused the two before it to take a step back.

”Finally, it’s out,” the nearly two-meter tall strong humanoid muttered to himself, the radiation patterns on him lighting up one by one. Seventeen S-Level radiation patterns ignited at this moment, fiercely blazing.

This is the mark of the bloodline’s complete refining.
