Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 884: Chapter 52: Monsters

The so-called ’Gestalt Consciousness’ is not decentralization in the ordinary sense.

It is the whole of all separations.

To put it more vividly, it is like a psychopathic super life form, organization, or even civilization.

Perhaps one second, it resolves to live like a human, and the next, it forgets what being human means.

In this sense, the Memory Mother is a typical example. Each Cyber Wave gives birth to a personality, and as a new wave surges, the old personality is replaced by a new one.

Every personality is 100% different.

As someone who can access cosmic knowledge, Yagami Suuji deeply understands how bizarre ’Gestalt Consciousness’ is.

No one wants to deal with a psychopath, much less become part of a psychopath.

Yet, here she is, in a mental hospital.

From these ants, she felt all kinds of distortions, as if an unusually small Box of Consciousness was crammed full of various ideas, thoughts, execution programs, and cell replacements.

At every moment, new consciousnesses are born and at every moment, these consciousnesses are iterated, absorbed, and further evolved.

In a short while, Yagami Suuji felt her consciousness was seriously impacted, and her eyes once again glazed over.

And in this moment of trance, she saw the ants continuously converging, forming a human form, squeezing out a familiar face from the endless wriggling ant faces.

Bionic A!

As the planet’s most wanted, Yagami Suuji naturally recognized this face, but at this moment, this face gave her a strong sense of unfamiliarity.

She had pursued Bionic A multiple times, and her impression was that this radical seeking the independence of bionics always bore an indomitable face, with a fire in his eyes that threatened to burn himself to nothing.

However, now, this face before her was one injected with an overdose of mental drugs, twisted, confused, bizarre, sad, excited...

As if at every moment, taking a different type of mental pill.

”Y-hello, dear Miss Suzi,” Bionic A spoke, his enunciation was odd, pausing after each complete sentence.

Yagami Suuji remained silent for a while, then said:

”Is the current you still that A?”

”Of course, I am now feeling v-very very good. My flesh has entered all bionic bodies, while my mind is embraced by my family. Every moment, there is a new self born. I now finally understand the essence of the bionic revolution. It is not about overthrowing Mother City, nor about killing all traitors. Its core is to let every bionic break free from the fate of being a replica, to become the freshest existence. Don’t you think I, as I am now, am very fresh?”

Yagami Suuji suddenly recalled Gao Gong’s previous words in her mind.

’Since the bionic race has become the most intelligent race on this planet, it is without a doubt that the Cyber Wave, starting from humans, will end with bionics. This conclusion may lead to a great upheaval, a transition from orderly evolution to chaos, and the monsters born of this chaos are often the most dangerous.’

’Bionic A, through his nanotechnology ability, infinitely decomposed himself, combining with the ’plague’ conferred by the second Destruction Form, connecting with all the bionics, thus creating such a monster that harnesses the ’Gestalt Consciousness’. This monster will overturn everything, and what you need to do is to let this monster be born ahead of time.’

Yagami Suuji hesitated in her heart.

She was unsure whether what she was doing was right, given that the world was already chaotic enough. Would letting such a monster be born become the straw that breaks the camel’s back?

Yet a strong heat suddenly arose in her heart, and a fierce desire overtook her. In places she couldn’t see, tiny worms continuously drilled out from her pores, crawling into Yagami Suuji’s brain matter, beginning to consume and regurgitate it, the regurgitated brain matter forming into a firm thought.

’This world is already chaotic enough, fighting poison with poison is the only way!’

Yagami Suuji spoke.

”I am also a bionic, I am very interested in the future you speak of. Perhaps I can help you with something, like hacking into the control centers of the six major bionic corporations to free all the bionics.”

...

Gao Yuanyuan felt she was struggling to hold on.

She felt a chill at the back of her head, as if at any moment a ghost might climb out from it.

This was not an illusion, because the ’Electronic Brain Ghost’ before her was getting closer, and she sensed a familiar aura from it, the aura of ’The Box’.

Her brother had said that all Destruction Forms are actually part of that Cosmic Relic, and the body of this Cosmic Relic is ’The Box’.

Only the Destruction Forms with a higher sequence could master the Power of the Box, and once the Power of the Box was mastered, it could, in turn, control the Destruction Forms.

The other party definitely wasn’t a Destruction Form.

However, the aura of ’The Box’ on the other party was becoming increasingly rich.

Gao Yuanyuan could only think of one possibility, which was that the other party gradually mastered the Power of the Box through each Rewind.

”Brother once said, the monster born from this Cyber Wave will be his nemesis.”

”Through the massive data Power of the ’13-Layered Space’, combined with the Rewind System’s capability, it’s possible to endlessly ’Rewind Time’, trapping the opponent in the corridor of program time, but the price is that the opponent is evolving, simulating the ability of the Destruction Form, absorbing my Power, and becoming a true Electronic Brain Ghost.”

Just as Gao Yuanyuan once again used the Rewind System to reverse the opponent into the bottom layer of Space, she suddenly felt a pain in the back of her head. When her Consciousness returned, she was horrified to find herself lying on an operating table. Outside the window, the scenery was more familiar; there were children playing, a grass field, and a broken water pump on the field.

This was the Welfare Institute!

Soon, the door opened, and a tall woman in a nurse’s uniform with long hair walked in. The woman had hollow eyes and knee-length hair, and looked nine-tenths like Gao Yuanyuan, yet appeared to be ten years older.

Gao Yuanyuan tried to struggle, but quickly realized that her hands and feet were chained; the surrounding nurses watched her with cold smiles.

”You... are her! The Electronic Brain Ghost!”

’Gao Yuanyuan’ showed a strange smile towards her on the operating table.

”I am your future, or rather, you were originally supposed to become me now, but unfortunately, someone has meddled with your destiny.”

”Now, I want to turn you back into me.”

’Gao Yuanyuan’ picked up the scalpel and sliced open Gao Yuanyuan’s scalp, and with a second cut, opened the back of her head. No matter how beautiful a woman is, after Brainstorming, she will appear terrifying.

The pain came madly, like a steel knife stirring in the brain matter, not just a metaphor, but happening in reality now.

”The opponent wants to erase my Memory!”

Gao Yuanyuan suddenly understood the plot of this Electronic Brain Ghost.

Mastering the Rewind System, Gao Yuanyuan was among the few with intact Memory on this planet.

The opponent seemingly knew this too, wanting to eliminate this unique hidden danger physically.

In the midst of agony, Reason was lost, but being subjected to surgeries since childhood, even giving birth to a second Personality, Gao Yuanyuan counted as an expert in this regard. Amidst the painful torment, she finally found a sliver of gap, successfully once again activated the Rewind System.

Unfortunately, this ’past’ wasn’t far; she was still on the operating table. Soon the door opened, the Electronic Brain Ghost walked in again for repetitive surgical torment.

Unwilling to have her Memory erased, Gao Yuanyuan enacted another ’Rewind’.

This process unknowingly continued countless times.

’Gao Yuanyuan’ suddenly let out a pitiful sigh.

”Why bother? Countless times of pain and torment, just like Eternal Hell. If you give up now, the pain will immediately disappear, I won’t kill you, and you’ll be with me.”

’Gao Yuanyuan’s Consciousness blurred, yet she stubbornly activated her ability.

Unexpectedly, this time, the operating table suddenly sank, and Gao Yuanyuan’s figure instantly vanished.

’Gao Yuanyuan’ frowned and looked down; the floor also disappeared, replaced by endless electronic skulls, piled into mountains, spread out into seas.

A figure was fleeing swiftly with Gao Yuanyuan, and wherever they passed, the skulls automatically made way.

”That kid has found me a big trouble.”

Ymir complained while glancing back.

The Electronic Brain Ghost could traverse infinitely through all electronic brains, yet her mastered ’Pure Artificial Intelligence’ capability precisely didn’t rely on any human brain computation, allowing her to navigate through the gaps in the ’Electronic Brain Graveyard’.

She was also the backup plan arranged by Gao Gong.

However, Ymir soon encountered trouble; large regions of electronic skulls began to disappear, and around the graveyard, traces of butterflies appeared.

”Death Formatting?”

Ymir had already figured out the opponent’s capability, although formless and shapeless, yet once affected by such ’virtual death’, basically the entire person would be done for.

Ymir also unfolded her ability, and in a moment, seemingly dazed, massive machinery rose from the ground, covering the entire planet, these machines weren’t even robots, but a complex system purely composed of digits and orders.

Indeed, the death wave was blocked.

Ymir’s heart relaxed, and just as she was about to say something, her Consciousness abruptly blurred, next appearing outside a ’Electronic Brain Graveyard’.

”I am the incarnation of Artificial Intelligence, in this world, no grave can hold me.”

After boasting a bit, Ymir scratched her head.

”Unfortunately, I still have to work for that devious Mr. G. Well, let’s go check out the 13-Layered Space first; that guy emphasized countless times, once the Electronic Brain Ghost takes action, it will definitely go after his treasured sister.”
