Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 870: Chapter 38: Player’s Heaven Quest

The flood submerged everything on this planet.

Looking down from outer space, it was especially shocking.

The ’black atmosphere’ enveloping this planet had vanished.

Also disappearing were large land masses of the planet, covered and vanished under a transparent sea.

The great flood from religious texts actually happened!

A transparent figure appeared in a flash at the location of the ’Planet Virtual Machine’.

Gao Yuanyuan bit her lip, looking at the virtual machine beneath her feet, resembling an ordinary burned machine; some data nodes were still emitting barely visible virtual smoke, the anomaly from the demise of virtual personalities.

Though she already knew the situation from her brother,

seeing the ’plot’ unfold in reality still left Gao Yuanyuan in awe.

The battle among two, or rather, four super planet-level monsters, though she was already Tier 3 Life, still invoked primal fear within her.

However, the battle concluded with almost complete annihilation.

Gao Yuanyuan spread her small hand; the ’13-Layered Space’ unfolded. She had prepared a whole layer of virtual space to absorb the ’Planet Host’.

Unlike on the hardware side of the planet computer, where the only fix for failures is replacement,

when the ’Planet Virtual Machine’ breaks down, it can still be used if the virtual level can be repaired.

Once repaired, Gao Yuanyuan would become the new Planet Host.

This would allow her to ascend to level 90 without technology tree assistance, not just any level 90, but a large-scale virtual life level 90.

However, Gao Yuanyuan wasn’t too happy. After absorbing the ’Planet Virtual Machine’, she flashed to the planet’s surface.

The ’great flood’ was still submerging everything, with countless figures visible in the water.

But these people were not dead; their expressions were serene as if returning to their birthplace, gently falling asleep.

’The fetal sea is sinking.’

Gao Yuanyuan knew this was the ’Memory Mother’ absorbing the essence of the big tree. Once it fully absorbed the sea, a new Memory Mother would be born.

’Memory Loss’’Personality Reset’’Neurotheft’’Conceptual Parasite’’Pheromone Virus’’Ancient Biological War’.

’The next wave of Cyber Tide is the ’Electronic Brain Graveyard’!’

Gao Yuanyuan tightened her spirit; her brother had warned her that this wave of the Cyber Tide, ’Electronic Brain Graveyard,’ could be the only wave posing a threat to her.

Because the Memory Mother nurtured from the ’Electronic Brain Graveyard’ is likewise a ’Brainstorming Girl’.

And one far surpassing her level of ’Brainstorming Girl’.

’I can’t waste the time my brother fought for!’

Gao Yuanyuan closed her eyes, activating her ’Spiritual Travel’ ability. Amid her ’Brainstorming Crossing’ and ’Destruction Form’ dual abilities, she quickly found Sister Ji, Gox, Xiao Yu, and others. As Gao Gong’s outbreak occurred, these people were also expelled from the box.

However, Gao Yuanyuan did not awaken them but muttered something, finally pressing lightly, and the cocoon of ’Memory Worms’ wrapped around them.

Then they slowly sank until they completely disappeared.

She placed all Destruction Forms into the ’Memory Worms’.

Only then did Gao Yuanyuan breathe a sigh of relief, yet there was still some anxiety in her heart because all Destruction Forms were found—except Gao Gong.

”Brother said if he temporarily disappeared while fighting the Memory Mother, don’t look for him but continue advancing the plan.”

Gao Yuanyuan knew most of Gao Gong’s plans.

The Cyber Tide births the Memory Mother.

Then the Memory Mother consumes enough information to trigger a new wave of Cyber Tide.

This is a vicious cycle.

However, like a computer running at maximum efficiency, it might suddenly face downtime.

If before the descent of the tenth Cyber Tide, which is the real ’Cyber Tide’, it can be forced into downtime, all Memory Worms entering a state of hibernation becomes possible.

Though this hibernation won’t kill the opponent, once the Memory Mother falls into eternal sleep, its polluting nature becomes zero, and no matter how many Memory Worms exist within, they won’t affect the host.

Similar to how humans have numerous unexpressed genes.

Conversely, these Memory Worms may even aid the host.

But achieving this requires an extremely stringent condition.

After each Cyber Wave launches, it must be fed in the shortest possible time.

In early and mid-stages, every Cyber Wave requires the same.

In the later stages, it must be starved completely, without a single bit of ’food’ supplied.

This way, the Memory Mother’s consuming instinct will backfire, devouring its own will, digesting each newly emerging will upon its creation.

From the Memory Mother’s perspective, this is ’infinite suicide’, but from an outside view, this Tier 5 Chaotic Information Body enters a prolonged ’brain death’ state.

The hardest part of this strategy isn’t anything else; it’s ensuring the Memory Mother eats no food.

This seems impossible.

But according to Gao Gong’s deductions, it’s not entirely impossible. Simultaneously awakening two ’Mother’s Will’ entities, allowing them to compete, can achieve this.

’Electronic Brain Graveyard’’Bionic Revolution’.

These are the next two Cyber Tides.

The graveyard is a grave prepared by Gao Gong for the other, while the revolution is likewise its revolution.

After contacting all the reachable Destruction Forms, Gao Yuanyuan returned to the ’13-Layered Space’ once more. Next, she must master the ’Colorless Flame’; this planet firewall will play the role of a surprise in the final battle.

...

Meanwhile, on the game forum, the entire Mechanical Split Star Plate was erupting into chaos.

’Damn it! This crappy game server crashed!’

’Whoa, why did my character disappear?’

’Forced offline, forced offline, I strongly demand compensation!’

’That’s right, it’s a matter of principle, at least a Tier 2 weapon! The planners can’t keep pretending to be dead!’

’Exactly, @Manager, if you don’t give us an explanation this time, you’ll regret it.’

’@Manager, where are your programmers? Why did only the Mechanical Split Star map crash while the others are perfectly fine?’

Just when all the players were frantically tagging the manager, the perpetually silent manager suddenly went online, maintaining a cool attitude and without saying a word, directly released a large number of tasks with generous rewards.

’Tier 2 Unlimited Time Task - Destroy the Electronic Brain Graveyard (with strategy)’

’Tier 2 Hell-level Task - Tomb of Information Excavation’

’Bionic Man Bloodline Mission - Spy Within’

’Boss Extermination Task - Corporate Will’

’Boss Extermination Task - Core of the Rebel Six Ministries’

’Tier 2 Nightmare Task - Cybertron Infiltration...’

Likewise, all the high-level players, those level 40 and above with Information Energy/Biological Energy/Mechanical Energy/Pure Energy exceeding ten thousand, received a top-tier planet-level main quest.

’Planet-level Main Quest - Mr. G Rescue Plan’

After these tasks were released, players quickly discovered that they could actually log in again!

And when they went online again, they almost all simultaneously exclaimed ’Whoa!’

Turns out it wasn’t the server’s downtime, but rather a version update, all maps were redone.

Looking around, what a vast ocean!

...

Not to mention the regular players’ map exploration, the high-end players with strong action power had already formed super squads, starting to search for the ’Planet’s Protagonist Mr. G’ according to the task prompts.

Almost all high-end players showed great interest in this quest.

The reason was simple; not only was this the first-ever ’main quest’ that players could experience, but also because it was a ’Heaven-Level Task’.

Players were surprised to learn that there was such a classification of super tasks.

In terms of difficulty, ’Heaven-Level’ and ’Hell-Level’ belong to the same tier, but compared to the ordinary ’Hell-Level’, the ’Heaven Task’ is more of a rescue operation.

Saving Mr. G would subdue the ’Memory Mother’, and subduing the ’Memory Mother’ would save this planet.

This hero-style task sounded quite exciting.

Of course, more enticing than saving the planet was the reward for this task. Besides various rich experiences and equipment, someone had painted a glorious vision.

Travel to the cosmos, fly into outer space!

Damn, finally getting to change maps!

”Mr. G found!”

”Where? Where?”

”I haven’t even retrieved my backup prosthetic body, how did you guys run so fast?!”

Within a high-end player group, a set of coordinates was rapidly broadcasted.

This time, the players were indeed united, not hindering each other at all, for a simple reason, the task completion condition was that Mr. G must not die, once Mr. G went down, all rewards would be void.

’Dida’, was the Mushroom Girl who had followed Gao Gong for some time, now a high-end player near level 50.

Almost upon confirming Mr. G’s coordinates, she directly performed a cross-regional energy transmission, teleporting to a coordinate point.

And surrounding this coordinate point, two or three players were already waiting, a quick glance showed all above level 45, two Carbon-Based System players, one Advanced Business Knight. Upon seeing ’Dida’s’ sudden appearance, they paused for a moment and nodded in greeting.

”Join the group chat first, girl.”

”Okay.”

After joining the chat, ’Dida’ directly asked, ”Found the person, where is he?”

”Below.”

”Have you fished him out yet?”

”Almost, almost.”

The Advanced Business Knight replied while using the ’Hook Lock’ of his mechanical hand to fish at the seaside.

This Hook Lock was about two hundred meters long, and it came with underwater vision capabilities. It was clear to see that in the seabed, a figure was slowly rising with the hook’s pull.

Finally, the figure was pulled onto the shore.

”Is this Mr. G?”

The Corporate Knight snapped a photo and sent it to the group while asking.

”I’ve never seen him before.”

”I have, but only saw from a distance.”

”I’ve seen him, it’s definitely him!”

’Dida’ stared at the face of a certain person, confidently asserting.
