Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 871: Chapter 39: Mission in Progress (Part 1)

Although the interaction between the two was on a virtual level, at that time, Gao Gong was still in the ’Rich Lady Love Prototype’ form.

But in reality, there was a subtle similarity in their temperaments. After all, virtual personality evolves from real personality, and Dida, as an artificial intelligence, was more sensitive than anyone to this.

”This NPC is quite handsome.”

”More than just handsome, there’s a feeling of admiration, is this the legendary kingly aura?”

”If I touch him, it wouldn’t be considered violating the game’s harassment policy, right?”

”Hey hey hey, what are you guys up to? The male aura is exploding!” The Advanced Business Knight looked at everyone around with a blank expression.

”Didn’t you see it? Mr. G’s life magnetic field is three blood-red question marks. Don’t you get the boss oppression?”

”We understand, but why does an unconscious boss still exert this level of pressure?”

”When you reach this level, you’ll understand.”

Mr. G’s level isn’t particularly high, at least under the scrutiny of these high-end players, it can be found out, level 60, the upper limit of Level 2 Civilization.

They have seen NPCs of this level before.

But unlike other NPCs, Gao Gong feels like a black hole, all eyes on him seem to be absorbed clean.

”Is this planet’s protagonist evolving?” a player asked curiously.

”Of course, if the protagonist doesn’t cheat, then he’s not the protagonist.”

”Stop thinking about the protagonist,” The Advanced Business Knight opened his mechanical backpack, and the silver-white back module automatically popped out, forming a rectangular box. After putting Mr. G inside, several spring clips automatically popped out from the knight’s waist, fastening the box to the back.

”What’s the task plot say?”

’The plot says, as the Memory Mother gradually awakens, under the influence of this big boss’s will, more and more NPCs will try to kill Mr. G. Our job is to protect his safety in this process.’

’This Memory Mother is probably the main boss of the main storyline.’

’Pretty much, and this boss has a multi-life mechanism, killing one won’t do.’

’By the way, why don’t the main storyline’s tasks let us kill the boss?’

’Forget it, you can’t even beat the Martial God, let alone the main storyline’s boss.’

Several high-end players, while searching for a safe landing spot, chatted in the group.

They dare not talk about anything related to ’Memory Mother’ in the game.

Because according to ’Heaven-Level Task’ says, this ’Memory Mother’ is like Cao Cao, where saying Cao Cao brings Cao Cao, any discussion related to it would ensure positioning coordinates.

Thus, players intuitively started using forum group chat bugs.

’By the way, this update changed a lot.’

Players above level 40 who can’t fly are almost none now.

At this time, this group of players looked at the rolling sea, clicking their tongues in admiration.

This place used to be a continent, now it’s gone, and more than eighty percent of the continents on this planet have disappeared in this ’update.’

Although the ’sea’ is ebbing, this ebb requires time.

”Wow, such a big tree root!”

Everyone looked up, only to see something black on the distant sea, and upon approaching, realizing how massive this ’tree root’ was.

The lower part of the tree root seemed fleshy, stuck in myriad large fish skeletons, these fish bodies were obviously A-level Radiation Beasts when alive, and the tree root stacked on the skeletal mountain of the fish, in the manner of a ’stabilizing needle’, suppressed atop the ocean, its aura suffocating the nearby players.

This was genuine suffocation because a casual detection revealed that the material of this ’tree root’ was S-Level.

S-level material!

The players’ breaths quickened.

If this could be acquired, they’d be rich!

”Don’t get carried away, such a big thing, how would you take it back, and look—” The Advanced Business Knight dashed everyone’s hopes, pulling out mechanical blades from his wrist, and fiercely chopped at the tree root surface. The tree root remained unscathed, but his Tier 2 advanced alloy knife added a crack.

”This thing can even block energy gun!”

”Also spiritual telekinesis.”

On a super tree root several stories high, players eagerly experimented, after all, even a fist-sized chunk of S-level material would be gold.

The Advanced Business Knight noticed that the highest-level female player wasn’t chopping the wood like others but was staring at the sky instead.

”What’s up?”

Dida pointed to the sky.

”The radiation layer is gone.”

”Um——” The Advanced Business Knight froze for a moment, as a ’game texture’, the radiation layer, gloomy like overcast clouds, had become a staple sight for players logging in, and suddenly gone, it was indeed strange.

A planet without an atmosphere, that can immediately see outer space, strangely evoking a bare feeling of shame.

”And then?”

”I’m not an expert in this area, but based on my understanding, if there’s no atmosphere, under the illumination of that thing,” Dida gestured upward towards the enlarged fixed star.

”The temperature of this planet will reach a very exaggerated level, like an oven. Meanwhile, the ocean’s water will vanish due to high temperatures, most species will perish, and if unlucky, meteorites will fall. This time there are no cushions.”

The Advanced Business Knight was stunned for a moment, upon reflection, it was true.

”Could it be that the game didn’t set this up?”

Dida silently glanced at him without speaking, but quickly, the Advanced Business Knight dismissed this notion.

”Impossible, while the game may falter elsewhere, its realism is top-notch.”

”Hmm.”

Dida stared at the seawater beneath his feet, showing a pensive expression.

The Advanced Business Knight tapped his mechanical mask and fell silent. After a while, his expression suddenly changed, ”Enemy attack!”

Almost at the same time he shouted, a strong sound of something tearing through the air erupted.

”Haha, found you!”

A young man hovered in the air, looking arrogantly at the group.

Almost instinctively, the tank took the front, the damage dealers lined up behind, support at the back, and the roamer scouted.

’Beep beep beep——’

Name: Xiaoi Hudie

Faction: Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division

Level: Level 60

Skills: ??

Biological Energy: ??

Template: Higashi’s Fist, ??

”Damn, a template boss! And a double template!!”

Without a second of hesitation, the Advanced Business Knight immediately unleashed his ultimate. His chest cracked open layer by layer, and amidst dense heat, a thick red beam fiercely shot towards the opponent.

”Just in time!”

A dense red light flashed in Xiaoi Hudie’s eyes as Biological Energy coiled around his fists like a snake.

As the combat minister of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, his greatest pride was his fist.

In the next instant, his fist broke the sound barrier, delivering a punch to the light cannon, which then shattered.

”Interesting——”

The boss can talk a lot, but the players cannot. Just as Xiaoi Hudie wanted to express some profound insights, a level 47 superpower user player began micromanaging and activated the full level ’Spiritual Telekinesis.’ In an instant, the red in Xiaoi Hudie’s eyes faded and was replaced with a hint of green light.

”Quick, output!”

Without any nonsense, all attacks immediately launched forward.

However, aside from the energy weapons’ rays that Xiaoi Hudie couldn’t evade and had to withstand, all other attacks were dodged.

”Weren’t you controlling him?” A Close Combat Axe King angrily questioned, but before the teammate could respond, he was punched through his mechanical chest armor by Xiaoi Hudie, immediately killed.

”It must be automatic combat from the other ’template,’ crowd control is useless, switch to negative debuffs!”

The Advanced Business Knight also fought close-range, hacking with the Tier 2: Enterprise Sword against the opponent, the Advanced Combat Chip frantically calculating the opponent’s attack trajectory.

This was unimaginable in the past; a few high-end players could hold off a double template boss.

But this was the late stage of the planet plot, and players had developed.

But damn, his blood volume is so freaking long!

Throughout the battle, Dida kept hidden in the virtual level, finally finding an opportunity, countless transparent fungal threads pierced into the opponent’s body.

Then, the opponent’s Biological Magnetic Field was ignited, like a human form torch, and he fell sideways into the sea.

This move shocked several players.

”Holy crap, girl you’re amazing!”

”What’s this move called?”

But the Advanced Business Knight shouted, ”Why aren’t we running?”

”What?”

”A boss following the carbon-based route, fighting us before entering ’Carbon Fusion,’ what do you think?”

The group finally reacted, saying nothing more, and ran away.

seconds later, the sea suddenly ignited, Xiaoi Hudie exploded out of the sea, his body surface surrounded by highly condensed small energy lives, looking like small butterflies fluttering around him.

”To entangle with the top wanted criminal of our division, you’re courting death!”

Xiaoi Hudie sneered coldly, his figure instantly reached ten times the speed of sound, rushing towards the group.

...

The Advanced Business Knight died.

The high-end player using telekinesis also died.

Dida was hit by the ’Butterfly Bomb’ and lost half of her blood.

This thing turned out to be a ’pure energy weapon,’ Dida got caught off guard and hit.

But Mr. G wasn’t lost.

The reason was simple, more and more high-end players rushed in from all directions, especially Baozi, known as the top merchant of Mechanical Split Star, directly summoned over a hundred high-end players from the sky, Xiaoi Hudie only killed a third before he had to retreat because if he didn’t, he’d be completely trapped.

”Such a pity, I haven’t killed a double template boss myself,” Baozi said triumphantly.

But soon his smugness faded, because the opponent also called reinforcements.

The fifth combat unit leader of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, Mechanical Mountain, arrived with over a hundred level 60 Mechanical Lives descending from the sky.

The hundred people Baozi brought, along with other arrivals totaling over 300 high-end players, were almost wrapped like dumplings by the opponent.
