Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 236: Chapter 236 Are You Resentful Toward Humans?

”Eh?”

The strong wind was rustling her golden hair, her view filled with tiny, colorful squares, and the sensation of weightlessness was making it hard for Iyas to adapt; only one thought remained in her mind.

Falling from such a height would definitely be deadly!

Were we not just in the library? Could this be what Yang Yu just mentioned, about not being surprised no matter what happens?

Biting her lips gently, Iyas struggled to keep her expression of panic from showing. She had learned so much about human knowledge, but who could have anticipated such a sudden and inexplicable rise into the sky?

”Iyas, don’t hold it in. If you want to be surprised, just be surprised! Holding it back is not good for your health.”

Hearing Yang Yu say this, Iyas couldn’t contain her annoyance.

At the beginning, you explicitly told me not to be surprised, and now you’re telling me to feel surprised, what exactly are you playing at?

In fact,

Yang Yu was telling Iyas to feel free to show her surprise, because he was extremely surprised himself. If Iyas casually showed a surprised expression, no one would pay attention to the unnaturalness on his face.

Initially, he had imagined arriving directly at the Fairy Palace, or at the site of the phenomena... but he had never expected to suddenly be up in the sky.

In the end, Iyas did not take Yang Yu’s advice to express her surprise; instead, she pursed her lips tightly, using discontent to replace the surprise on her face.

There was nothing Yang Yu could do but keep a poker face, swallowing the rare surprise he felt inside. If anyone noticed his unnatural expression, he would attribute it to the strong wind.

Bai Jin’s hair was disheveled, becoming even more chaotic under the plummeting winds; unlike Yang Yu and the others, Bai Jin appeared much calmer.

”Bai Jin, you must have learned a bit of Flying Magic, right?”

Hearing Yang Yu ask this, Bai Jin’s calm expression turned disappointed as she shook her head.

Despite her efforts these days, Flying Magic had proven more difficult than she had anticipated; she had practiced for a long time and still hadn’t grasped even a hint of how to do it.

”This is troublesome.”

Yang Yu looked down; they were at least a few thousand meters from the ground. If they were to fall like this, they would definitely make a big crater on impact.

He really wondered what the designer of this method of passage was thinking... Passing through the library floor and arriving directly in the sky of Fairy World was a bit too audacious, wasn’t it?

This was clearly designed for unprepared people to die.

Could it be that there was a strong resistance to humans going to the Fairy World?

Setting aside these issues, if they didn’t act quickly, based on the principle of acceleration due to gravity, Yang Yu and the others would surely create three big craters upon impact.

So, Yang Yu hurriedly opened the System and took out a thick canvas from the inventory.

This canvas had originally covered the carriage when Yang Yu and Iyas escaped from Chuanyang City. When he sold the carriage, he kept the canvas, believing in reusing waste.

Now, this piece of canvas could come in handy.

”Iyas, Bai Jin, each of you grab a corner, try to keep it level, and use this as a parachute.”

”A parachute?”

Although they heard another unfamiliar term, Bai Jin and Iyas did not question it; they did as Yang Yu said, each grabbing a corner of the canvas and spreading it out in the sky as an extremely makeshift parachute.

The strong wind pounded against the canvas, which enveloped the wind itself.

The canvas swelled upward, bulging, and the buoyancy it created significantly slowed Yang Yu and his companions’ descent, but it was still far from enough.

”Bai Jin, listen to my command. When we’re close to the ground, use magic to blast the ground as hard as possible to slow our fall even more. Our current speed is still too fast; we need some reactive force.”

Bai Jin nodded, listening intently to Yang Yu’s instructions, afraid that the howling wind might cause her to miss any information.

The squares in their line of sight gradually enlarged, and Yang Yu finally recognized that these colorful squares were actually fields of flowers.

Their falling direction was a field blooming with golden tulips, and even from afar, it was extremely beautiful.

Feeling sorry for the golden tulips, Yang Yu nonetheless showed no mercy and commanded Bai Jin to attack, and relying on the reactive force of the magic burst, they landed smoothly in the tulip field.

Some fairies working in the flower field saw their precious golden tulips being destroyed and were about to express their anger, but when they realized that it was humans who had destroyed the flowers, they immediately repressed their resentment.

Humans appearing here usually meant a sudden disaster was being addressed.

For their collaborators, they had to maintain sufficient tolerance.

Yang Yu also spotted these fairies hiding behind the flowers, and he packed up the canvas and apologized to the fairies around him earnestly.

The fairies looked at each other with no one speaking, just spreading their wings and flying away from the flower field.

The smile on Yang Yu’s face ceased abruptly, and he felt a bit helpless:

”Humans are even less welcomed than I imagined, or maybe, they’re just scared of the power we possess, so they chose to leave in a hurry... Either way, being ignored really doesn’t feel good.”

Although he felt quite sorry for the fairies, with all the fairies gone, Yang Yu had no one left to apologize to, so could only let go of his apologetic demeanor, and he stepped over the ridge of the flower field.

Iyas brushed the dust off her clothes, ”What should we do next? The fairy that was talking with us just now didn’t seem to follow.”

”She has her job, which is understandable. Iyas, your vision is better than ours, go look around to see if there are any buildings like castles, or other structures that look particularly unique.”

”Alright, alright.”

After casually agreeing a few times, Iyas also climbed up the ridge, surveying the surroundings.

But in a short while, Iyas abruptly stopped her movements, tapped Yang Yu on the shoulder, and pointed into the distance.

”Yang Yu, look over there!”

Following the direction Iyas was pointing, Yang Yu couldn’t see clearly what was at the end of her finger, so he and the team walked a bit further.

In the distant north, a massive black bubble hung in the midair, and around it, six pillars of light shot up, casting a hexagram in the sky.

As they moved closer, fields of withered flowers came into view, where dry leaves and stems seemed to crumble at a touch.

Yang Yu wanted to walk a few more steps, but Iyas grabbed his hand.

The closer they got to that dark bubble, the more nervous Iyas became,

”Yang Yu, listen to me, I can feel a powerful dark energy emanating from that bubble, strong enough to completely devour the entire library without a problem. We definitely can’t handle it now, listen to me, I think we should run!”

Iyas advised him earnestly; she just looked at the black bubble from a distance, and an ominous premonition surged in her heart.

Here, she felt a sense of ”despair.”
