Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 223: Chapter 223: You and I Go Round and Round, Up to the Heavenly Realm

The other party seemed not to want them to interfere, and the members of the Law Enforcement Team turned toward the youth leading them—the captain of this Law Enforcement Team, Yu Jiesi.

”Captain, what should we do now?”

”For now, follow their lead.”

Watching every move Yang Yu made, Yu Jiesi made a decision,

”That young man is handling this extremely cleverly; it’s hard to find a flaw. Our interference might even affect him. Let him fight a bit longer to reduce the wolf’s strength. If he’s really in danger, then we’ll proceed with the original plan. If anyone dares to obstruct, handle it as per the regulations for resisting law enforcement.”

”Understood.”

Following the captain’s orders, the members of the Law Enforcement Team temporarily halted the magic they were weaving, continuing to observe Yang Yu’s actions under the guidance of Yu Jiesi.

The more they watched, the more they realized how extraordinary the young man wrestling with the giant wolf was. Facing the massive form of the beast, the youth showed no fear, his eyes harboring an indescribable confidence.

Lotcar lunged ferociously at Yang Yu, while Yang Yu forcefully pushed off with his legs, charging toward Lotcar.

Not retreating, but advancing?

Knowing the vast disparity between them, why would he still initiate an attack?

Just as everyone thought Yang Yu was courting death, his actions once again shocked everyone.

He slid slickly beneath Lotcar, made his way around to the creature’s rear, grabbed its fluffy tail, yanked it forward, and landed a sword slash on Lotcar’s backside.

Pain shot through Lotcar’s buttocks, causing it to turn and snap its gaping jaws at Yang Yu. Holding tightly to Lotcar’s fluffy tail, Yang Yu matched the rhythm of Lotcar’s body movements, adjusting his own center of gravity to stay behind the beast, continuously slashing at its backside with his sword.

Lotcar let out a wretched howl, speeding up its pace, attempting to catch its own tail and obliterate Yang Yu.

Yang Yu just continued following Lotcar’s rhythm, constantly moving his body to stay behind.

A bizarre scene unfolded.

Lotcar spun around like a husky playing with its tail, forming circles in place.

Everyone was dumbstruck; they had never imagined anyone dealing with a giant wolf-shaped demon in such a way.

”Isn’t this a bit too cheeky?”

Yang Yu didn’t care about the opinions of those present and continued swinging his sword.

The damage continued to accumulate on Lotcar’s backside, but Lotcar showed no signs of coming to.

Lotcar was deeply poisoned, unable to recover consciousness through inflicted damage, unlike during He Meng’s time.

Realizing this, Yang Yu let go, used centrifugal force to distance himself from Lotcar, rolled on the ground, and casually stood up, sheathing his sword, and looked at the ”system” for pills that could remove abnormal status.

Although unsure if the pills would be effective, it was worth a try.

Yang Yu disappeared from view, and Lotcar also stopped chasing its tail, lifting its head, its blood-red eyes fixed on Yang Yu, emitting a terrifying growl, opening its maw wide again, roaring and then lunged to bite Yang Yu.

This time, Yang Yu did not dodge; he slid his right leg back, calmly lifted his shield, ready to meet Lotcar’s sharp fangs.

”Shield Counter.”

A red glow flashed across the shield, and numerous spurs sprang up like bamboo shoots, neatly arranged on the shield. Lotcar ended up biting into a spiky ball, the triggered electricity winding its way into Lotcar’s heart.

Lotcar’s pink gums oozed blood, which trickled down his pristine teeth into his mouth, filling the air with a bloody scent.

Seemingly oblivious to it all, Lotcar continued to fiercely clamp down on Yang Yu’s shield, trying to crush it completely with his powerful bite.

”He really is ferocious.”

The deformation of the shield was putting pressure on Yang Yu.

Having used it for so long, he had grown quite fond of this one-handed shield; not only did it have excellent defensive attributes, but it was also extremely lightweight, a top-notch piece among ordinary blue equipment.

Such a fine shield could easily be bought from any street-side weapon shop, rightfully earning the title of king of cost-performance, a blessing for Africans.

It was no wonder Yang Yu hadn’t just stocked up a hundred or eighty shields, but also a dozen or twenty other pieces just in case.

So, if he had to give up the shield, he wouldn’t hesitate.

While pulling his hand from the shield, Yang Yu took out a pill that could remove abnormal status from the system and stuffed it into Lotcar’s mouth.

”With such a fiery temper, it’s time for some medicine.”

Crunch, crunch, Lotcar closed his mouth, crushing the pill and shield to bits, miraculously leaving Yang Yu unharmed. Yang Yu had leapt backward the moment he withdrew his hand, escaping the range of the attack.

The bitter taste of the pill spread in his mouth, its pungent scent assaulting his sensitive nose. Lotcar shook his head slightly, the red glow in his eyes dimming slightly, but he did not break free from his fury, continuously swinging his claws left and right, attacking Yang Yu.

Yang Yu’s gaze was fixed on Lotcar’s panel, his focus intensifying.

The icon for ”Despair Devour” had dimmed a bit more than before; there was no doubt the pill had an effect, but it wasn’t enough to remove Lotcar’s abnormal status.

Even if it could really remove ”Despair Devour,” what then?

As long as he didn’t develop resistance and continued to stay within the jurisdiction of All Things Library, he would definitely still be consumed by the abnormal state called ”Despair Devour.”

Thinking this, Yang Yu’s mindset did not change.

As long as he could bring Lotcar back to his senses, regardless of how briefly Lotcar regained them, Ying Luo would definitely tell him everything she had investigated.

Only by accepting the task and addressing the root of the problem could they prevent past tragedies from repeating.

With that thought in mind, Yang Yu took out a small bottle filled with golden liquid from the system.

This type of potion, which could instantly restore all statuses, he preferred to avoid using, but now he had to use it.

Countless chops at the wolf’s behind, combined with the recent ”Shield Counter” skill, had drained most of Lotcar’s blood volume.

With the Law Enforcement Team lurking threateningly nearby, if any of them acted impulsively, Lotcar might very well not be able to get back up.

Using this potion at this very moment was the best strategy Yang Yu could think of.

After all, once the other’s injuries healed, it would be convenient for Yang Yu to drag him back out for another beating.

Maybe this time, the tough love would awaken Lotcar’s will.

While dodging attacks from Lotcar, Yang Yu parried opportunely with his sword.

Since Lotcar had destroyed far too much, he entered a state of fatigue earlier than Yang Yu, who was in top form. Gasping for breath, Yang Yu soon found an opening and stuffed the resurrection medicine and remaining pill for removing abnormal status into Lotcar’s mouth all at once.
