Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 212: Chapter 212 All This is for Your Own Good

”Oh, Miss Keke Ai, it’s a pity that I wasn’t able to accept your interview last time. Now there’s something I need your help with, and in exchange, if you can help us solve the problem, I’ll give you the chance to interview me.”

Saying this, Yang Yu, with Lady Tico in tow, unceremoniously entered Keke Ai’s room.

”What help do you need from me? If it’s just a common favor, I doubt you would have barged in and destroyed the door to find me. Stirring up such commotion isn’t something that can simply be resolved with a quick compensation.”

Watching the flames gradually fade from the black fragments of the broken door, Keke Ai knew that Yang Yu and Lady Tico had no good intentions, but as a reporter, she had seen her share of storms; for an exclusive story, she was willing to go through fire and water—and this degree of intimidation wasn’t enough to scare her.

”Don’t worry about that. We’ve already alerted the owner ahead of time, and have arranged the compensation. Let’s get to the main issue at hand.”

Yang Yu smiled, then took a few steps closer to Keke Ai.

”Lady Tico is quite upset, as you’re fully aware. The favor we need from you, you can probably guess.”

After thinking it over, it could only be one article that had caused the trouble. Keke Ai took a deep breath and asked,

”Is it about the article that was published in the last issue of the Library Newspaper?”

There was a detached indifference in Keke Ai’s tone. Lady Tico bit her lip, her eyes filled with rare indignation,

”Do you realize how much misunderstanding your article has caused throughout the Library? Please come back with me immediately to set the record straight and admit that your article was pure nonsense.”

Putting down her pen, Keke Ai tousled her pink curled hair, her glasses reflecting a dazzling light, as she flashed an utterly confident smile,

”Nonsense? Lady Tico, I really don’t think I got anything wrong. On the contrary, it’s you who’s mistaken; you haven’t noticed your own feelings at all. As a reporter, I merely report the truth as I see it. Had it not been for this incident, you would probably never have recognized your own emotions.”

”No, I don’t have any special feelings for him at all,” Lady Tico denied emphatically, her expression firm. ”My relationship with Yang Yu is really very normal.”

”That’s because Lady Tico has never been in love and has no clue what it feels like. There’s a saying that love is blind, but bystanders see it all. As a reporter, I’ve seen far too many romances and missed opportunities than Miss Yang Yu. The reason I published that article was I feared you might miss out on a beautiful love due to your naive ignorance.”

Keke Ai’s face showed no signs of panic; instead, she deftly explained further.

Even Yang Yu couldn’t help but admire Keke Ai’s craftiness.

This person was really despicable, putting the blame on others when she was in the wrong, yet having the audacity to argue it was all for their benefit, just like a parent justifying their actions to a questioning child.

And shamelessly, she kept emphasizing her credentials as a reporter, purportedly having more extensive and profound experiences than Lady Tico, adding credibility to her words.

It was akin to those TV experts who brazenly promote products.

What was infuriating was that Keke Ai indeed was a reporter.

As Yang Yu had expected, Lady Tico’s heart did waver upon hearing these words.

Despite contemplating deeply the night before and believing her feelings for Yang Yu were no different from the pleasant emotions of an idol meeting an enthusiastic fan, she now pondered if there had been no intimate expressions when she was with Yang Yu, they wouldn’t have been misunderstood.

So, was this feeling truly love?

Watching Lady Tico’s wavering expression, Keke Ai’s lips curved slightly upward, her simple words quickly giving her the upper hand.

The ability to ask all kinds of questions and raise various doubts with a calm demeanor was precisely the fundamental competence of a reporter like Keke Ai.

Only by daring to ask questions can one uncover more interesting news.

Lady Tico’s languid nature was well-known in the Library, yet lately, she had turned over a new leaf, vibrant and full of life, surely for some reason.

It was most likely due to someone who had changed her, and if there was absolutely nothing between her and that person, that would indeed be odd.

Thus, she couldn’t exactly be accused of fabricating facts; she merely preemptively stated what might happen in the future.

Keke Ai was confident—a person as naive as Lady Tico could be easily deceived, and who knows, she herself might become Cupid’s Arrow, binding them together in gratitude.

Next, it was just a matter of dealing with that man.

In Keke Ai’s view, Yang Yu was purely someone Lady Tico had dragged along to help refute the rumors.

Having handled Lady Tico, how could she not deal with this obtuse man?

”Let’s talk about you now, Mr. Yang Yu. You like Lady Tico, don’t you? All that talk about fans and idols, who believes that? You’re doing all this just to get close to Lady Tico, to bridge the gap between the two of you.

As I see it, you don’t need to go to such lengths; anyone can see that the two of you are sincerely in love. There’s only a thin veil between you, and with a gentle push, you could win your fair lady.

Think about it, Lady Tico is so bright and beautiful, and the two of you are fond of each other. With Lady Tico as your wife, what could you possibly complain about?”

Yang Yu feigned contemplation and laughed, ”You do make a good point. It would indeed be a great fortune to marry someone like Lady Tico.”

Keke Ai’s smile blossomed like cherry blossoms, putting on a benefactor’s face, ”Although I’m not sure what waves my article has caused exactly, but as I said, why don’t the two of you ride on this wave of popularity and establish your relationship early? This will surely bring you countless blessings.”

”That makes sense.”

Facing Keke Ai’s ’kind advice’, Yang Yu offered only a slight smile, which made Keke Ai feel even more pleased with herself.

As long as the rumors turned into truth, she only needed to use that article to continue hyping up the story, and she would definitely secure a voice in the Library Newspaper, becoming a regular contributor to that section and earning a more stable income.

”The rest is simple. Once the rumors turn into truth, all I need to do is use that article to keep the buzz going. Then, I can definitely gain a certain influence in the Library Newspaper. Perhaps I’ll even become a regular column author, with a more stable income.”

Expressing Keke Ai’s thoughts aloud, Yang Yu’s smile turned into disdain,

”You truly are greedy, Miss Keke Ai.”
