Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Go! Skydiving!

Tiny points of light danced in the mist, seemingly perplexed.

Just as Yang Yu had thought, the White Balls used by the All Things Library for inquiry and transmission appeared to be a special kind of extraordinary Magic Tool, but in fact, they were directly operated by fairies as a ”trick.”

A single fairy was responsible for one White Ball, transmitting the inquiry information heard back to a Secret Treasure of the fairies. After processing, the Secret Treasure provided specific answers, then sent them back into their minds. They only needed to project the answer onto the White Ball or resonate it into the inquirer’s mind using Magic Power to achieve accurate searches.

Incidentally, the transmission between White Balls was also realized through a Secret Treasure of the fairies. The reason White Balls were filled with mist was to cover the activation of the Secret Treasure, so humans would not detect the hierarchical leap made through the Secret Treasure’s turnover.

It was precisely because of the existence of the Secret Treasure that the fairies who did this job seemed more leisurely than one might imagine.

This system had been maintained in the All Things Library for several centuries.

Only the core of the core members of the Library would be privy to this secret.

Even within the Elder Council, no more than twenty elders knew of this matter.

The fairy responsible for the White Ball on the first level of the Fifth Sky-reaching Library, which was where Yang Yu and companions currently resided, was a female fairy with red hair named Lu Lu.

As soon as Lu Lu heard from Yang Yu that the Library was a cooperative venture between fairies and humans, she panicked and quickly contacted other fairies in the White Balls.

Even though they were in different White Balls, the fairies could easily build a network in each other’s minds through resonance of Magic Power, facilitating discussion.

Faced with Lu Lu’s sudden contact request, many fairies immediately joined the network to listen to the full story from Lu Lu.

After Lu Lu finished explaining, the fairies in the other White Balls all showed looks of disbelief.

”What, what exactly is going on? Why does this man know that we work here?”

”Could it be that he is the assistance sent by the humans?”

”His Majesty the King, there has been no contact from that side yet, so we cannot confirm that he is the human sent to help us fairies.”

”Given the urgency of the situation, it’s plausible that without notification, the person has come over.”

”Maybe we should spend some time contacting His Majesty the King and let him make the decision. Lu Lu, you go and keep that person from leaving!”

The fairies quickly reached a conclusion, but they needed some time to contact their King. During this time, they decided to have Lu Lu stall for a while.

...

...

Enshrouded by the vast white fog, Yang Yu received no response to his words for a long time and involuntarily tilted his head.

Could I have been mistaken? Is this White Ball really some kind of special Magic Tool?

emmmm....

I don’t believe it.

It seems the fairy hiding in the shadows has never seen someone as imposing as myself, got shy, wasn’t prepared in her heart, that’s why she’s been hesitant to respond.

It seems I need to show her something more thrilling for her to open her heart to me.

Just as Yang Yu was about to fall back on his old skills and employ the acting talent he had learned from playing numerous role-playing games, a twinkling point of light emerged in the vague mist.

Bai Jin and Iyas cast curious glances toward the glowing mass.

As it drew nearer, the figure within the orb began to clear, looking just like the fairies from fairy tales.

”Hello, Human. I am Lu Lu, a member of the Fairy Kingdom. May I ask what brings you here?”

Staring at the fairy who could be swatted with a single slap, Yang Yu introduced himself with a smile.

”Miss Lu Lu, it’s a pleasure to meet you; my name is Yang Yu. I dreamed I was in the Fairy Kingdom underground, about to face a crisis, and I’ve come from afar to inform you. If possible, I’d like to visit your realm to ascertain the specifics, as there may be a way to find a solution.”

Yang Yu’s polite demeanor immediately endeared him to Lu Lu, further cementing her belief that Yang Yu was the assistance sent by humans.

However, whether or not Yang Yu could visit the Fairy Kingdom was not for her to decide.

”I’m sorry. Although I wish to invite you to the Fairy Kingdom right now, without His Majesty the King’s permission, no one has the right to go there directly.

The number of people allowed to pass through the Fairy Barrier each year is fixed, and if I allow passage without His Majesty the King’s permission, I cannot bear that responsibility.”

The number of times non-fairies could pass through the Barrier was limited, and precisely how many Lu Lu wasn’t sure.

But the same person passing through multiple times would also count against the quota, a well-known fact among all fairies.

Due to the uniqueness of the Fairy Kingdom, once the quota was used up, the passage protecting the Fairy Barrier would close completely, only to reopen after a year.

Lu Lu patiently explained to Yang Yu the operating rules of the Fairy Kingdom Barrier and why it took this form.

Ultimately, it came down to fairies being such fragile beings that they required the protection of a strong Barrier.

To prevent the lawless from sneaking in, the Barrier protecting the Fairy Kingdom was designed to be extremely stringent – without the King of Elves’ command, no one could enter, whereas expelling someone was exceptionally easy.

Having gained an initial understanding of the Fairy Kingdom, Yang Yu asked:

”Do you know how many entries and exits are left? If we can’t handle the problem for now, it will help us prepare for next time.”

Lu Lu shook her head, ”That, only His Majesty the King knows. If he permits you to go to the Fairy Kingdom, you can ask His Majesty the King and resolve this question. If His Majesty the King opposes your entry, please leave. It’s a critical time now, please don’t create more chaos.”

Suddenly, the expression on Lu Lu’s face paused, then as if she had received some good news, her face broke into a happy smile, and fluttering her wings, she flew back into the mist.

”His Majesty the King has approved your request. Please get ready, I will take you to the Fairy Kingdom.”

”Thank you.”

After exchanging pleasantries, the glow from Lu Lu turned the dense fog before Yang Yu and his companions into a dazzling golden yellow. Immediately after, it felt as if the ground beneath them vanished, and they began to sink, as if stepping into a mire, their bodies helplessly sinking.

Yang Yu and his party passed beneath the White Ball’s boundary, feeling a peculiar sense of weightlessness. The white mist before Yang Yu did not dissipate, but receded rapidly backward at great speed.

As bright light entered their vision, their surroundings suddenly became clear, revealing their current predicament.

They were like skydivers leaping from an airplane, piercing through the thick cloud layer, surveying the whole landscape from above as they plummeted downward.
