Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 222: Chapter 222: Are You Angry?

Lotcar’s crimson eyes reflected the approaching figure of Yang Yu, his hind legs powering him forward as he lunged at Yang Yu, claws bared, fully perceiving Yang Yu as his enemy.

The bright, sharp claws streaked through the darkness, as if they could easily tear Yang Yu to pieces.

Yang Yu positioned his sword horizontally in front of him, and the clear sound of the collision echoed through the streets as he blocked Lotcar’s strike.

But the block only lasted a moment.

Even though Lotcar was under a curse, weakened in all attributes, the strength he possessed was still far beyond Yang Yu’s; plus, Lotcar had the advantage of size. With his massive body alone, he was enough to overwhelm Yang Yu—only a fool would confront him head-on.

With an illusory thrust, Yang Yu retracted his sword, took a step back, and let Lotcar’s claws swing through empty air, slamming into the solid ground.

Taking advantage of this opening, Yang Yu backhanded his shield onto Lotcar’s chin, causing the creature’s colossal head to tilt upward, though his crimson gaze never left Yang Yu, watching his every move intently.

Lotcar rose up to his haunches like a werewolf, his front paws crossing over each other as his sharp claws emitted a silver glow. With a swipe outward, three streaks of light merged together like claw marks, forming a massive X-shaped attack that ripped through the ground, sending a cloud of dust towards Yang Yu’s face.

Having lived with Lotcar for so many years, Ying Luo knew the power of this move well—it was with this attack that Lotcar had saved her from the hands of countless magic beasts.

”Be careful! That’s Lotcar’s ’Silver Light Claw Strike’!”

Yang Yu dropped to a lower stance, his shield-hand turned upwards, flipping the shield,

”Interception!”

An Illusion Shield unfolded before Yang Yu, stopping Lotcar’s attack as if it had hit a rock, with Yang Yu not moving an inch.

Witnessing the surprise flash through Lotcar’s eyes, Yang Yu’s face was full of mockery,

”You, are even weaker than I imagined.”

The words struck Lotcar’s heart like a steel rod.

Lotcar’s silver mane bristled, making him appear even larger, his eyes gradually filled with ferocity and a murderous rage, as if he wouldn’t rest until he had torn Yang Yu to shreds.

Lotcar’s deep growl spread through the nearby streets like thunder, causing children hiding in their rooms to cover their ears, trying everything to block out the terrifying sound, curling into a ball and trembling in the corners.

Yang Yu couldn’t suppress a laugh, his eyes full of taunt, ”Angry? It seems I’ve inadvertently hit a nerve. No surprise, if you weren’t weak, you wouldn’t have fallen under a curse.”

Rabid monsters often attack indiscriminately, but they also attract hatred easily.

It was quite possible that Lotcar had lost his rationality just like He Meng, but deep down, he still harbored grudges about the past. By exploiting this, Yang Yu could firmly capture Lotcar’s hatred, making him focus his attacks on Yang Yu, leaving others untargeted.

That was Yang Yu’s goal.

”What I said is true, isn’t it? The strength of your attack is simply not enough, and with that attack speed, do you think you can hit me? Don’t be naive, even a snail is several levels faster than you!”

Lotcar bared his teeth, his expression extremely distorted with ultimate fury, as if someone had invaded his territory and arrogantly urinated on his land.

Finally, at his limit, Lotcar crouched low and charged at Yang Yu, mouth wide open.

....

Above the sky, over a dozen people arrived.

They were uniformly dressed, not in mage robes, but in eye-catching blue-black uniforms, their chests adorned with name cards that bore their own names, emblazoned with the words ”Law Enforcement Team.”

They were members of the Library Enforcement Team, tasked with maintaining the order of the All Things Library.

Such a large-scale mobilization was a first for them.

In fact, they had rushed over early in the morning and had seen from afar the battle between Yang Yu and Lotcar.

Every Monster Tamer was registered, and they were a key focus of the Law Enforcement Team, who naturally recognized both Yang Yu and Lotcar.

They weren’t surprised by Lotcar’s rebellion, even admiring the Elder Council’s accurate prediction.

It was precisely because of the Elder Council’s prediction that they were able to mobilize so swiftly.

The task received by the Law Enforcement Team from the Elder Council was to arrest the rogue magic beasts and to directly exterminate those that were severely out of control.

There were only two Monster Tamers in the entire Library, and arresting their magic beasts would also mean finding those two. Now that both were present, it saved them the time of searching.

The Law Enforcement Team even harbored a sly thought as they watched Yang Yu and Lotcar fight intensely, planning to effortlessly arrest the giant wolf and the demon in Yang Yu’s possession once both sides were exhausted.

However, this didn’t mean that the Law Enforcement Team would only stand by and watch. The All Things Library valued the lives of each member extremely highly, took every homicide seriously, and departments involved in any loss of life would assume certain responsibilities, not to mention their own Law Enforcement Team.

Should a casualty occur here, it would be quite troublesome to deal with, and they also risked being dismissed, so they would offer timely assistance to Yang Yu if he couldn’t hold on any longer.

Of course, there were other reasons for their watchful waiting.

They had long heard about a Monster Tamer who joined the Library this year, a man who time and again refreshed the Library’s perceptions.

They had long been curious to meet him but were too caught up in Law Enforcement Team affairs and could only catch glimpses through library reports.

Now, the struggle between Yang Yu and Lotcar satisfied their curiosity. They also wanted to see how far this man could go without their intervention.

Every member of the Library Enforcement Team was no ordinary individual; some were directly recruited from internal assessments, while others were scouted through the martial arts exams—all in all, each possessed extraordinary strength and a certain ability to see through power levels.

In their eyes, although Yang Yu was not very strong, his evasion maneuvers earlier were outstanding, so much so that they themselves might not have matched them.

However, facing the fully enraged giant wolf, they didn’t think Yang Yu could endure. Several law enforcement officers had already raised their hands, ready to cast magic.

At that moment, an ice cone flew up from below, bursting like a firecracker in front of them, shattering into a myriad of ice crystals. The tiny ice crystals clung to each another, forming a sentence in mid-air, ”He can handle it alone, do not intervene.”

The Law Enforcement Team looked toward the direction the Frost Ice Arrow had come from, and a girl with disheveled hair smiled at them, eerie and somber.

It was as if defying the written message would lead them to be cursed to death by this girl.
