The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 349: Chapter 349: Why is Mr. Norton Always on His Phone_1

At the Imperial Hotel upstairs, in the resplendent golden hall, an assembly of top talents from various fields in the music world was taking place, mainly to discuss the musical feast that would be held three months later.

The Piano Association and the Violin Association would both be participating.

The general idea was to exchange skills, but to put it plainly, bringing together so many kinds of music for comparison meant they intended to see who was superior.

After all, whether it was the piano or the violin, everyone thought theirs was the most elegant and refined of the instruments.

However, the most attention-grabbing aspect of the meeting was not the upcoming musical feast, but rather a big shot who had not returned to the country for a long time.

Mr. Norton!

Last year, Mr. Norton and the internationally renowned pianist Kevin Siddhi performed together, and he completely won over the luminary of the Western music festival, impressively displaying his unparalleled Konghou expertise, to the point where that nearly seventy-year-old Western master fervently expressed his desire to study under him.

You should know that the current backbone of the Western music world, including the likes of piano masters such as Steven, were once students of Kevin Siddhi.

If their teacher was persuaded by Mr. Norton’s skills, what status do you think Mr. Norton holds in the music world?

In fact, there has always been a competitive atmosphere between the East and West in music, but the West has consistently held the upper hand over C Country, and their domestic music masters have always lacked respect abroad, except for Mr. Norton, whose lofty position is acknowledged internationally, thus he is considered a representative master from the domestic scene.

Such a master comes from no ordinary background; the Norton family is traditional, scholarly, and a great family in Beijing, having produced many luminaries in literature and architecture.

The family may not be the most flourishing, but its background is far from negligible.

Additionally, with Mr. Norton’s own expertise, even the top-ranking power circle in Beijing would solicit his help in tutoring children.

But Mr. Norton is a proud man; he might teach children, but at most he would offer a word or two of guidance.

He has very few true disciples.

In his youth, he was willing to seek out students with exceptional aptitude. But as he aged, he seemed to become indifferent to fame and fortune.

In recent years, he has been even more elusive, hardly ever seen.

His participation in this musical circle gathering was, therefore, quite rare.

Everyone was eager to showcase themselves in front of this top master, with a representative from the Piano Association currently speaking passionately, having prepared an excellent speech.

It all looked harmonious.

However, beneath the surface harmony, the Piano Association members were anxious. One of them quietly confided to Ivy Wilmar beside him.

”President, is there something wrong with our speech? I feel like Mr. Norton isn’t listening to us at all, he’s been playing with his phone the whole time.”

Ivy Wilmar had also noticed the elderly man in a suit engrossed in his phone in the corner, and while her heart was anxious, she scolded without showing any disturbance on her face, ”I’ve personally reviewed the speech and confirmed it multiple times. Manage yourself, and don’t let your thoughts wander all day. Our Piano Association has nurtured students this year who achieved considerable success internationally; we have actual accomplishments that speak for themselves and don’t need the speech for added effect.”

That’s the rationale, but it was clear the master wasn’t interested.

Now, Mr. Norton had not joined any associations, not even as a titular honorary president, only being a representative of intangible cultural heritage. If they could get him to join their association, even in name only, the status of their association would rise as the tide lifts all boats.
