The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 308: Chapter 308: There’s Still a Chance for Regret_1

He didn’t believe that Nathalie Quinlan, at her age, could book a place like Waterfront Pavilion, so when she mentioned a general restaurant, he smiled proudly and said, ”We’ll see, I might not be able to find the time.”

He didn’t completely shut down the idea, and he said quite sincerely, ”I’ll try to make some time. If I can, I’ll give you a call.”

Nathalie Quinlan nodded, ”Alright. If you have time, let me know, and I’ll reserve a spot.”

Myles Sullivan looked at her exceptionally attractive face, his gaze filled with a hint of regret but mostly brimming with the confidence and superiority that came from his own strength.

Realizing he couldn’t sway Nathalie Quinlan on the spot, he set aside his desire to win her over for the time being. His expression relaxed, and he looked at the girl before him, asking, ”Nathalie, how are your parents treating you now?”

He probably had heard a bit about Nathalie Quinlan’s biological parents, seemingly the Zachmann Family of McKinney.

He knew the Zachmann Family. The old man of the Zachmann Family had wide connections in Beijing and wielded some power. He had decent relationships with the Yancey Family and other families, quite a character indeed.

Without mentioning Jeff Quinlan and the others, Nathalie Quinlan could still talk to him. She leaned back, her shoulders relaxed, and said, ”It’s alright.”

As for the specifics, she didn’t want to share too much with Myles Sullivan.

Myles Sullivan just asked casually, probably not truly concerned, but he did have a liking for Nathalie and held her in high regard. Therefore, he said, ”You might want to reconsider your trip to Beijing. You can change your mind anytime before I leave McKinney.”

Before Nathalie Quinlan could reply, he added, ”Even if you decide to go to Tsinghua University on your own in the end, you can still contact me in Beijing. I don’t have many relatives, but I know a few people there. I can take you out for a meal and some fun.”

These words softened the cold, hard lines of Nathalie Quinlan’s jaw, and she hummed in response before switching the topic.

Myles Sullivan, worldly and well-connected in Beijing, genuinely wanted to win Nathalie over. As he chatted, he could touch on any subject under the sun. Not only was he good at conversation, but he was also careful with his expressions of concern for Nathalie, which made him much more approachable than the forceful Jeff Quinlan and Emilia Sullivan.

Thanks to his deliberate efforts, the atmosphere in the coffee shop was very harmonious.

Until Nathalie Quinlan’s phone began to vibrate frequently.

[Edric: Sister, Uncle Sullivan and I are home now. (Photo)]

The message was accompanied by a photo of them at home.

[Edric: Uncle Sullivan helped me with my rehabilitation. My ankle still hurts, but I will listen to you, sister, and recover well. Once I’m better, I can go shopping with you. Heehee~]

Below was a round, yellow smiling face.

With messages continually coming in, Nathalie started to check her phone non-stop. Sometimes it wasn’t intentional, but she couldn’t help wanting to see what the little guy sent her whenever the phone vibrated.

Holding the phone in one hand, she glanced between the messages and Myles Sullivan occasionally, her attention clearly drifting toward the phone more than the conversation.

[Edric: Sister, will you come home for dinner tonight?]

This time it was a face of innocence.

Nathalie Quinlan looked at the phone with her dark eyes, her fingers resting on it as she slouched in an informal manner.

That air of unruliness just came through!

Myles Sullivan’s coffee was nearly finished just as Nathalie Quinlan stood up first and said, ”Uncle Sullivan, it’s about time for me to head back. Remember to call me if you’re free, and don’t forget about the meal.”
