The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 333: Chapter 333: I’ve Also Heard a Similar Name_1

This year, Southern University was also selected as one of the top-tier universities in the country.

Its popularity among students has quickly approached that of Tsinghua University.

The number of students who applied to Southern University this year was not insignificant; everyone at Tsinghua University was on edge, extremely concerned about this round of independent recruitment. Each department was pulling out all the stops to try to select one or two exceptionally talented students from this examination.

Since every department’s teachers and the school itself were taking this independent recruitment exam very seriously, there was of course a meeting to discuss this matter before the exam.

Mr. Gober was attending this meeting.

As part of one of Tsinghua University’s ace departments, he was the head of the Finance Department. Having had considerable achievements in the field of finance, the students he mentored were one better than the next. For instance, his student Zayn Fisher had just led a small team to win a minor international award. Although the prize was not huge, it had a good reputation when word spread.

Who at Tsinghua University didn’t know that, under his leadership, the Finance Department was flourishing day by day, quietly on its way to surpassing even the Medical Department as Tsinghua’s most ace department.

Since it was a major conference, professors and associate professors from various departments would participate.

Upon entering, he immediately saw Adelle Wafford, wearing a smoky grey business suit, sitting upright in the most prominent seat on the left side of the conference table.

She exuded an aura of haughty aloofness, which made others cautious not to sit beside her.

Mr. Gober was long accustomed to her demeanor. Since everyone was an expert in their own field, he smiled, walked over, pulled out the chair beside Adelle Wafford, sat down, and also greeted the person next to him, ”Professor Wafford, have you taken interest in any students this year?”

”I’ve heard you’ve already taken a liking to a student with exceptional talent and even made a special trip to McKinney for them. How did it go, did you secure them?”

He was just asking casually. With their status going personally to recruit, how many students would have the temperament to refuse?

After all, being chosen by them was a stroke of luck for anyone.

Who would refuse such good fortune willingly?

Unexpectedly, as soon as he finished speaking, Adelle Wafford’s face suddenly darkened a shade, she tightly gripped the tip of her pen, and her lips thinned, ”Heh, Professor Gober seems quite leisurely, to have the time to meddle in the affairs of other departments?”

Mr. Gober, completely baffled by her retort and feeling like a monk who had no idea what was going on, found the teacher seated next to him, also from the Medical Department, Draven Garland, leaning towards him and whispering low, ”Mr. Gober, you best not ask Professor Wafford about this subject. That student...”

An image of a defiant figure involuntarily came to Draven Garland’s mind, and for a moment, he didn’t know how to proceed.

However, Mr. Gober was quite curious, ”What about that student?”

Draven Garland touched his nose, somewhat embarrassedly, ”That student refused Professor Wafford’s invitation, saying she wanted to try for a different department and wasn’t interested in studying clinical medicine.”

Mr. Gober hadn’t even paid attention to the latter half of what he said; just the beginning was enough to surprise him, ”You’re saying that girl refused Professor Wafford?’

For these past years, the Clinical Department at Tsinghua University had solidly been ranked above their Finance Department, and with Adelle Wafford’s rising reputation over the past decade, she was the face of the Clinical Department.

And a student had refused Adelle Wafford?!

Now he was genuinely curious, asking with a face full of intrigue, ”What’s the name of that student you mentioned, and will she be participating in this independent recruitment?”

”Whether she will come or not, I’m not sure... As for her name, well... it’s quite nice. She’s a girl studying at No. 1 Middle School in McKinney, named... Nathalie Quinlan.”

Upon the mention of the name Nathalie Quinlan, Mr. Gober froze.
