The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Give Her a Week Off_1

Ghania Quinlan was going to participate in Tsinghua University’s independent recruitment examination, and originally only students from Class A knew about it, but somehow the news spread throughout No. 1 Middle School.

Only a few people at No. 1 Middle School knew that a professor from Tsinghua University had specifically come to scout Nathalie Quinlan, offering her a guaranteed spot.

Most just knew there was an upperclassman named Nathalie Quinlan in the senior class who had average grades at her previous school and, after transferring to No. 1 Middle School, scored well on two tests and audaciously aimed for Tsinghua.

That alone wasn’t enough, and some busybodies even posted about Ghania Quinlan participating in the independent recruitment examination for Tsinghua on a forum.

Now, the entire No. 1 Middle School knew about the feud and the battle between the real and alleged heiresses, Nathalie Quinlan from Class A and Ghania Quinlan from Class B, both eyeing the same university and preparing for the upcoming recruitment exam.

The seniors were somewhat familiar with Nathalie Quinlan’s remarkable abilities, but the juniors and sophomores, who didn’t share a building with the seniors, relied on school forums to get their gossip.

They knew Ghania Quinlan was the school belle, with good grades and striking beauty—a true wealthy and beautiful girl. Rumor originally had it that she was guaranteed admission to the National Artists University until a prize mishap occurred, the award was withdrawn, and with it, her guaranteed spot vanished. Not long after, Ghania herself transferred to neighboring No. 5 Middle School...

In contrast to Ghania Quinlan’s dazzling record, Nathalie Quinlan’s seemed much more modest. Beautiful, yes, but with a cold demeanor, and apart from having a top star brother, she rarely made waves and her grades seemed mediocre at best, certainly not as strong as Ghania’s!

Even after Nathalie moved up to Class A, more people believed it was due to connections.

These days, it was normal to have some inside information; it was abnormal not to have any!

Hence, someone online initiated a trivial vote on who would successfully get into Tsinghua, Ghania or Nathalie.

In the beginning, not many participated in the vote, with freshmen showing little interest, sophomores even less so, and the busy seniors focused on solving practice problems without time to pay attention to these peripheral gossips.

It wasn’t until a group of girls from Class B, who were close with Ghania, pooled their money to start a betting pool that the voting thread heated up.

Since Nathalie had settled on her university of choice, she had been extra busy these days, rarely playing with her phone in class and working through thick study materials, tackling the problems within whenever she could...

In the blink of an eye, it was the week before the exam.

Nathalie had decided to go early, so she asked Nancy Sullivan for a leave of absence, and Sullivan, knowing she was attending Tsinghua’s recruitment exam, readily granted it.

One week.

Two days more than the three she had requested!

After signing the leave form, Sullivan spun her chair to hand it over and looked at the girl before her with a complex expression, ”Rest up well once you’re in Beijing, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself! It’s best if you pass, but if you don’t, you still have the college entrance exam. When you come back, review well, and we’ll still have a chance.”

It wasn’t easy getting into Tsinghua, especially through the independent recruitment exam, which attracted elite students from high schools all over the provinces.

No. 1 Middle School stood out in McKinney but didn’t even make the top 100 nationally.

”Your grades are good, I’ve seen your exam papers from the last two tests, and only literature is a little weak. You also stand a chance at Tsinghua through the college entrance exam,” Sullivan obviously knew about the drama on the online forum and had a rough idea about Nathalie’s relationship with the now-transferred Ghania Quinlan. Subtly firming her jaw, her voice softened as she continued, ”Don’t compare yourself with others; it’s pointless. If you surpass your previous self each time, you’re winning. Good luck, and do your best!”
