The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 346: Chapter 346: It Seems I Saw Nathalie Quinlan_1

”...Mr. Norton might have already given up,” she said, when out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly caught a glimpse of a broad and determined figure.

Caryn’s eyes lit up.

Amadeus?

Hadn’t Amadeus gone to McKinney with that little Yancey Family ancestor to find a doctor? How did he suddenly appear in Beijing?

As she was about to take another look, she saw the tall man seemed to be holding something in his hand.

It looked like a black backpack.

A backpack?

Caryn’s delicate eyebrows furrowed, her mind unable to make sense of it.

Why would Amadeus be carrying a backpack?

Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a slender, tall figure behind the man, looking down, seemingly playing with a phone, topped with a Duckbill Cap, obscuring the face, only the curve of a jawline was visible from afar.

The skin was very white.

Unbelievably white.

As white as milk.

Many women in the social circle had good skin, and with advanced technology nowadays, even those born with yellow-toned skin could turn white with whitening injections, not to mention many naturally had fair skin. But a girl that white, she had only seen once before – Nathalie Quinlan!

Half a year ago, her uncle had suddenly found his daughter, who had been lost for 18 years, and when their whole family returned to McKinney, she had met her cousin by name at the Waterfront Pavilion, and she was that white.

As flawless as the finest White Jade.

Nathalie? How could Nathalie be with Amadeus?

Caryn’s heart clenched, thinking of the ’secrets’ she had known since she was little, as well as Nathalie’s identity, her heart felt as if it was being roasted on a fire, sizzling with agitation.

”Mom, has Nathalie come to Beijing?”

Celine Tucker hadn’t seen Nathalie and the others, and when she heard her mention it, she looked around but didn’t see anyone. Frowning, her once peaceful and friendly face seemed not so friendly anymore, with aversion hidden in the depths of her eyes: ”Are you sure you saw her? How could she possibly be in Beijing?”

”But I just saw someone whose back resembled hers...” Caryn felt sure she hadn’t mistaken what she saw. There were many people with fair skin, but with a bandit’s air and that level of whiteness, it could only be Nathalie.

Celine withdrew her gaze, straightened her clothes, and with a firm tone, said, ”You saw it wrong! She’s a high school senior now, not on vacation. Why would she leave McKinney to study and run off to Beijing?”

”Even if she came to Beijing, she wouldn’t do so without informing the family. Have you heard your grandfather or your dad mentioning her coming to Beijing lately? She wouldn’t just come here without contacting the family.”

Her words were logical, and Caryn, who had been certain the figure she saw was Nathalie, started to doubt herself after hearing her speak.

”Maybe I saw it wrong...”

But the girl who had just followed at Amadeus’s side, looking down at her phone, resembled Nathalie so much. That demeanor, those movements, it didn’t seem like she had mistaken someone else.

Celine, not noticing her unease, glanced at the time on her wristwatch and said to her, ”Alright, don’t think about it anymore. Whether she is her or not doesn’t matter. I’ve told you before, Nathalie is just a worthless stone picked up from a small place. Remember clearly that you’re porcelain, raised with care by the Zachmann Family. Never compare yourself to her! If you place yourself on the same level as her, you’re belittling yourself! Whether she comes to Beijing or not is none of our business. What’s most important now is to meet Mr. Norton. Understand?”

Caryn, seeing impatience on her elegant face, didn’t dare to contradict her, clutching her handbag, she nodded: ”Yes.”

”It’s good that you understand,” said Celine, lovingly straightening the clothes on Caryn’s body, her eyebrows smoothing out as she revealed a smile. ”Let’s go, we’re going in.”
