The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 342: Chapter 342: Arrived in Beijing!_1

Emilia Sullivan: ”No more ’buts’! She doesn’t have the capability! The Zachmann Family might, but we’ve already looked into it, and they have no intention of acknowledging her at all. Her dad has come to McKinney a few times, even warned us, seeming quite protective of her.”

But the real head of the Zachmann family, Mr. Zachmann, has never publicly acknowledged that the daughter of Room One has been found! Stanley Zachmann is just a university professor, and over the years, all the Zachmann Family connections have been in Leonardy Zachmann’s hands, of Room Two. Nathalie Quinlan, a bloodline acknowledged halfway through, Mr. Zachmann doesn’t care about at all. Why would he book a whole first-class cabin for her!”

”Is that so?” Jeff Quinlan couldn’t quite put his finger on where her argument fell short, but it just felt odd.

If the Zachmann family didn’t care about Nathalie Quinlan, it wouldn’t make sense to go to the trouble of finding people, only to ’not care’ once she was found. That would be really strange.

Emilia Sullivan, however, was full of confidence, asserting firmly: ”It’s definitely the case. Otherwise, the Zachmann Family would have acknowledged her long ago, why would she still be left in McKinney! Look at Ghania, after she arrived in Beijing, her academic performance improved, and she started mixing with a whole different class of people. Just wait until she’s admitted to Tsinghua University...”

She didn’t finish her sentence, but she was thinking it.

Once Ghania Quinlan gets into Tsinghua University, Nathalie Quinlan won’t matter anymore. None of them would be in the same world!

*

Nathalie Quinlan slept very deeply.

It was rare for her to sleep so soundly outside her own bed, surrounded by the scent of a man’s crisp cologne, sleeping through the entire flight until the airplane landed.

When she woke up, it seemed as though everyone else on the airplane had already left.

Nathalie Quinlan sat up, supporting her forehead, as the blanket that was on her fell to the floor. Her temples were throbbing severely, and the nerves at the back of her head also started to pull, she supported her head, taking quite a while to come around.

The air conditioning on the airplane was intense, and being exposed to it for so long made her head hurt even worse than when she was just tired.

”Ms. Quinlan, are you awake?” Alfred Garland approached her cheerfully as he saw her stirring.

Nathalie Quinlan pressed down on her scalp hard, her voice hoarse as she asked, ”What time is it now?”

The curtains of the first-class cabin were all drawn, she couldn’t see outside and could only feel that the airplane had landed.

She vaguely felt that she had slept for a long time.

After all, it had been a while since she dreamed, and she had actually dreamed about her childhood during her sleep.

Thinking back on the bloody scent in the dream, her chest felt as though there was a heavy stone pressing on her heart, extremely uncomfortable.

Alfred Garland took out his phone to check the time: ”It’s still early, only three o’clock.”

”Three o’clock?” Nathalie Quinlan frowned, her pale face showed little color, giving her a somewhat white appearance: ”I’ve slept for five hours?”

They had departed at ten-thirty, and she fell asleep shortly after boarding the airplane. Now at three in the afternoon, indeed it was exactly five hours.

Alfred Garland nodded gently and said softly: ”Yes, you slept soundly, didn’t wake up even when the flight attendants served meals. Amadeus said you’ve been too tired lately so he didn’t wake you.”

Without him mentioning it, Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t felt hungry, but upon hearing him, she realized her stomach was uncomfortable from not eating for so long.

Cool and not painful, it just wasn’t very comfortable.

Just then, a cup of water was offered to her, held by a hand with distinct knuckles, long and well-proportioned, with nails trimmed smoothly and neatly, looking as beautiful as a piece of art.

Without looking up, she heard Amadeus Yancey’s deep voice: ”Have some hot water first, after we get off the plane we’ll find something to eat, you should eat first.”

”Mhm.”

Nathalie Quinlan’s eyes were dark as ink as she took the cup of water from his hand, took a sip, and felt the hot water soothe her throat and stomach, instantly making her more alert.
