The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 313: Chapter 313: Going to Tsinghua University Too_1

Ghania Quinlan was no different in her feelings, bowing her head and striving to conceal her emotions. At this moment, her delicate face was deathly pale, and she held the hem of her dress tightly.

Again, Nathalie Quinlan!

Her heart was even more apprehensive as she pricked up her ears, chaotically eavesdropping on the conversation between Myles Sullivan and his wife.

Myles Sullivan loosened the tie around his neck, a look of regret on his face as he said, ”I asked her, but she does not want to.”

”Does not want to?” Ivy Wilmar was somewhat disappointed.

But not surprised.

Nathalie Quinlan had always been much more spirited than Ghania Quinlan; given the way she had fallen out with the Quinlan family, it was normal that she would not want to follow them.

Myles Sullivan was disappointed too, but he had a broader vision and saw the bigger picture. To him, Nathalie Quinlan at best could be the icing on the cake for the Sullivan family—if they could retain her that would be great, but it wasn’t a big deal if they couldn’t! The granddaughter that the Zachmann Family had acknowledged, considering Mr. Zachmann had not yet brought her back to Beijing, clearly showed that the Zachmanns prioritized Caryn Zachmann. The Zachmanns might not really care about Nathalie Quinlan...

In a brief moment, he had already gone through the current situation in his heart and said to Ivy Wilmar, ”She also wants to take the exam in Beijing, at Tsinghua University as well.”

Ivy Wilmar knitted her brows and looked up at him, ”What a coincidence?”

Ghania had said she wanted to try for Tsinghua University.

Nathalie also wanted to go to Tsinghua University.

In her memory, Ghania had better grades than Nathalie; it was tough enough for Ghania to aim for Tsinghua University, so it would probably be even harder for Nathalie...

Ivy Wilmar: ”Then why doesn’t she want to go back to Beijing with you? Did you tell her you could arrange a tutor to help her improve her academics?”

”I did,” Myles Sullivan replied, walking towards the living room while speaking, ”Still, she does not want to live with us. I guess the Zachmann Family must have found her a teacher!”

Ivy Wilmar felt this was highly likely and sighed inwardly, feeling a sense of regret.

Then she heard him say, ”But it’s okay, I’ve already given her the gift. She should like it when she sees it.”

Bringing up the gift, Ivy Wilmar’s expression brightened slightly, smiling, ”That’s true, which girl doesn’t like diamonds. The gift you bought for her this time is a whole two carats! Once she goes to Beijing, we’ll find time to meet her, share a meal. Even if she doesn’t come to the Sullivan’s, it’ll be easier to stay in touch in the future.”

Ghania had also received a gift from Myles Sullivan and his wife, two carats of diamonds, nestled in a little box.

She had been pampered from a young age and owned quite a bit of jewelry herself, but a two-carat diamond rough still gave her a bit of a thrill.

However, hearing that Nathalie had received the same, it felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over her head, chilling her to the bone!

”Sure.” Myles Sullivan had the same thought, which was why he spent a bit more money on the gift.

In an instant, he had reached the living room and saw his sister’s family sitting there awkwardly. The sharpness in his eyes withdrew, and his gaze fell on Ghania, who was clinging to her own skirt hem. His voice deepened as he spoke, ”Ghania, once you’re in Beijing, listen to what your aunt says and study hard, understand?”

When Ghania heard him mention her name, she subconsciously tightened her grip on her skirt hem, took a deep breath, raised her face and said, ”I won’t disappoint you, Uncle!”

She would not lose to Nathalie, absolutely not!

The reason Myles Sullivan didn’t avoid his own family while discussing his recent meeting with Nathalie with his wife was partly to put down his sister and her husband and partly as a reminder to her.

Seeing the ambition and dissatisfaction hidden in her eyes, his expression softened.

Although Nathalie was promising, in the end, she was difficult to control and had been acknowledged by the Zachmann Family.

Ghania might fall short in some aspects, but at least she had Sullivan blood. Coupled with better academic performance and greater ambition, it wasn’t impossible that she could bring glory to the Sullivan Family.

With that thought, the slight regret he felt at not having won back Nathalie faded considerably.

He no longer planned to make time to dine with Nathalie.

After all, with his status, making the trip to McKinney meant there were plenty of people who wanted to connect with him.

Since he was here, he had to get to know the McKinney circle.

That was much more useful than coddling a niece with no blood relation!
