The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 332: Chapter 332: Made a Choice_1

After hanging up the phone, Zayn Fisher took a long while to come to his senses.

Freddy Cagwin’s words still echoed in his ears.

He had said that Ghania Quinlan couldn’t bear to see Nathalie Quinlan doing well, and with something as great as being recommended for Tsinghua University, Ghania would never tell him about it.

He also said that Ghania was not as pure and kind, innocent, and naive as he imagined.

At that time, he firmly believed that Freddy Cagwin spoke out of jealousy and deliberately maligned Ghania because of his close relationship with Nathalie.

Now... Zayn’s eyes were filled with confusion as he held his phone, staring at the hung-up number, several times tempted to call back and ask her again.

But then he felt that if he called again, merely inquiring would seem like an accusation.

As a boyfriend, he should unconditionally trust his girlfriend, especially since Ghania had given him her first time!

Remembering Ghania’s past sacrifices, Zayn’s confusion in his eyes faded somewhat. He took a deep breath and downed the tequila on the table in one gulp.

The strong liquor went down his throat, finally suppressing all the miscellaneous thoughts in his heart.

He looked at his phone again, his handsome face showing a pensive look. In the midst of his hesitation, he dialed his tutor’s number.

”Hello...”

The phone rang once before it was answered.

Zayn stood up and walked to the balcony, resting one hand on the edge while speaking calmly to the person on the other end of the line: ”Mr. Gober, there’s something I’d like to ask of you...”

He explained Ghania’s situation and then added softly, ”I remember you’re one of the interviewers for the independent admissions this time. When the time comes, I’ll be counting on you to take extra care of my girlfriend. I’m very grateful.”

”...Yes, Ghania Quinlan.”

”She’s capable on her own merits; she doesn’t need you to do anything else for me. I just hope that you could give her more attention during the interview process, as I am worried she might be nervous...”

They were all adults, whether it was fear of her being nervous or just wanting to look out for her, it was clear as day.

But some things couldn’t be said so directly.

Zayn ended the call and exhaled deeply, his handsome face taking on a determined expression.

No matter what, Ghania Quinlan was his girlfriend, and once he had chosen her, there was no possibility of going back and reconsidering!

Not to mention Nathalie had Amadeus Yancey by her side.

That member of the Yancey Family was someone he could never afford to offend, no matter what.

Since it had to be a relationship of enmity, he would certainly trust his own girlfriend, not a group of strangers!

Whether you looked at regular grades or character, Ghania was far better than Nathalie. His mother always tried to play both sides to curry favor from both.

But through this incident, he saw clearly that they could only choose one between Ghania and Nathalie.

If Nathalie didn’t accept the recommendation, it was impossible for her to get into Tsinghua University.

Just as Ghania had said, no matter how good Nathalie was, she was too capricious. Today, she could give up a guaranteed place at Tsinghua University just because of a whim to participate in the independent admissions. Tomorrow, she might just as capriciously do something else.

By comparison, he chose Ghania.

On the other hand, outside the Tsinghua University conference room, a man in a striped sweatshirt who had just finished his call was frowning slightly, looking troubled.

Just then, a teacher passing by greeted him cheerfully: ”Professor Gober, the meeting is about to start. Aren’t you going in?”

Derliand Gober put away his phone, took a breath to compose himself, momentarily setting aside the matter of his proud student asking for a favor, and followed with a small smile: ”Going right now.”

The independent admissions were a big annual event for major universities.

As the only opportunity before the national college entrance exam for universities to select students independently, although each institution had a limited number of available slots, it was an excellent chance to recruit top-tier students in advance.

As one of the top universities in the country, Tsinghua University was naturally one of the hot choices for many students. They were not worried about a lack of applicants, but rather that students who looked promising during independent admissions sometimes did not perform up to expectations after enrollment.
