The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Tired of Receiving Love Letters from Childhood_1

Nathalie Quinlan’s backpack was usually empty, hardly carrying a single book.

These past few days, however, she had packed one—the review materials she often read.

It was also lucky that she didn’t usually bring books; otherwise, the backpack wouldn’t have fit the books given to her by Nancy Sullivan and the others.

Looking at her bulging single shoulder bag with a bit of a headache, Nathalie received a phone call from Amadeus Yancey. After answering the phone with a grunt, she put away her phone and asked the others, ”My friend is coming to pick me up. Shall we go? Together.”

”Let’s go~!”

Justin Wafford and Jhovany Sullivan had stayed behind precisely to wait for her and leave with her, and upon hearing her, they quickly picked up their backpacks.

Turn off the lights, lock the door—done in one fluid motion.

School had already let out for a bit, and there weren’t many people around, but as soon as Nathalie appeared, she still became the focal point of the underclassmen’s enthusiastic attention.

Several boys and girls recognized her and excitedly took out their phones to sneak photos of her.

They even whispered in hushed voices, ”Wow, we’re so lucky. Do you see her? That’s Nathalie Quinlan from senior grade three, class A... She looks prettier in person than in photos, so stylish.”

”Where?”

”Right there, the girl in the black hoodie, see her?”

”I only see a figure from behind, not the face.”

”She’s super pretty in person! Much prettier than the previous school beauty, Ghania Quinlan.”

”Aren’t you exaggerating a bit?”

”For real.”

The two boys thought their voices were quiet, but actually, Justin and the rest heard everything.

Unable to help himself, Justin joked, ”Nathalie, you’re really popular! Ever thought about venturing into the entertainment circle?”

Nathalie lifted her eyelids, looking rather unbothered, and didn’t pay any attention to the soft discussions around her. She was still holding her phone, her line of sight never leaving the screen as she casually said, ”Not interested.”

”Being a star is great, you make money and get popular,” Justin persisted.

Freddy Cagwin followed behind them, carrying his backpack and listening to their conversation.

He had known Nathalie longer than the others and was already accustomed to all this.

Even in junior high, Nathalie was quite popular. Even though she was average in academics and had a cold personality that didn’t care much for socializing, Freddy had heard his mom say that Nathalie’s backpack would often reveal love letters stuffed inside by boys.

From childhood to present, just the love letters his mom cleaned out numbered close to a hundred, if not dozens.

More than even those received by Ghania Quinlan, who was known as the school beauty of No. 1 Middle School!

Nathalie didn’t even care much for the love letters directly stuffed into her backpack, let alone the attention from those who only dared to whisper nearby!

Freddy’s lips were tightly pressed together, and his broad brows over big eyes suddenly turned towards the girl walking in front of him, ”What date is your flight?”

Nathalie, who was replying to Lowie Wilmar’s message, heard him, thought for a moment, and said, ”The 3rd.”

Freddy tightened his grip on the straps of his backpack, looking at her with grave eyes, ”Let me take you to the airport.”

Justin and the others had the same intention, adding in agreement, ”Yeah, Nathalie, you’re going to Beijing for at least ten days to half a month before coming back. We want to see you off at the airport!”

Nathalie counted the days; the 3rd was a Monday, and No. 1 Middle School would be in session. If they all skipped class to see her off, she could imagine Nancy Sullivan’s angry face, so she politely declined their kind offer, ”I’m going with friends this time, so don’t worry about me.”

In the end, she looked at the several pairs of eyes staring in unison and said helplessly, ”I’ll send you guys a message when I get there.”

No sooner had she spoken,

than Justin and the others were about to ask who the friend was when they saw out of the corner of their eyes a man waiting by the school gate. As they came out, he quickly approached them—

”Nathalie.”
