The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 334: Chapter 334: McKinney Produces Talents_1

McKinney’s own high school girl with the surname Quinlan, he had just heard a similar name.

But it wasn’t Nathalie Quinlan; it was Ghania Quinlan.

Reportedly, with good grades and a pretty face, her family was a notable household in McKinney, and his own proud student had made a special phone call to ask him for help.

Nathalie Quinlan, Ghania Quinlan... There was only a single character difference between the two names, and for a moment he thought he had heard wrong, that what Draven Garland had said wasn’t Nathalie Quinlan, but Ghania Quinlan.

After a careful thought, considering Ghania chose the path of an art student, the Medical Department wouldn’t possibly take an interest in an art student.

Derliand Gober’s eyes, lively and spirited, flickered, and he couldn’t help but take note of a place name—McKinney!

McKinney isn’t well-known among the major cities nationwide, a small city close to being a second-tier city from a third-tier one. The place isn’t large, having visited once for academic research a few years ago—it’s palm-sized with just one subway line. You could drive from the south to the north of the city in two hours... With its size, there are not many good schools. Only the local No. 1 Middle School McKinney is decent, producing a city top scholar every other year.

In such a small place as McKinney, a city top scholar isn’t that remarkable; when put in a national context, they would only be considered exceptional, not top-tier.

In such a small place, this year it seems the city is brimming with talent.

To have a Ghania Quinlan was one thing.

But to also have a student that even someone as proud as Adelle Wafford took notice of...

Nathalie Quinlan, right?

Derliand Gober whispered the name in his heart and decided to pay extra attention during the interview to see what a student who rejected Adelle Wafford looked like.

The principal on stage had finished speaking, and now it was time for each department to make its statement.

At conferences like this one before the independent admission exam, it was simply about settling on which departments would participate this year. Their finance department, as Tsinghua University’s flagship program, couldn’t possibly miss the opportunity to recruit students every time.

The finance department was sure to take part, so Derliand Gober idly waited as representatives from other departments went about negotiating and discussing.

Usually, both the finance and medical departments sit comfortably like fishers waiting for their catch, rarely worrying about students not choosing their majors and seldom speaking up at conferences.

Today, however, Adelle Wafford was acting as if she had taken the wrong medicine, suddenly firing shots towards Chinese Medicine: ”Ha, I don’t care about the other departments, but I would like to ask, is the Chinese Medicine Department not participating in this independent admission once again?”

The Medical Department has traditionally been divided into two factions: Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine. With Chinese Medicine on the decline in recent years, it went from originally being three departments down to one, while Western Medicine has gradually grown, with elites joining each year. Although both factions belong to the Medical Department, the reality is that they don’t see eye to eye!

Normally everyone keeps to their own lane. Knowing it’s increasingly outperformed by Western Medicine, the Chinese Medicine Department has been very low-key at the university, whether it’s the teachers or the students, keeping a low profile and avoiding trouble. Who knew that Adelle Wafford would suddenly call them out today.

A few teachers from the Chinese Medicine Department turned dark with indignation at her malicious provocation, hardly able to contain themselves: ”Professor Wafford, what do you mean by this?”

Adelle Wafford clicked her tongue lightly, crossed her arms without giving face, and raising a shrewd brow, she spoke succinctly, ”It’s nothing much, I just think it’s not great that the Chinese Medicine Department opts out of the independent admission exam every year. What if a student wishes to apply to your department? If you don’t participate, won’t they have made the trip for nothing?”

Everyone knew that Chinese Medicine’s student recruitment was more challenging with each passing year. If it weren’t for Tsinghua University being a prestigious institution with a century-old history, it would have been impossible not to dismantle the Chinese Medicine Department, which would have otherwise ceased to exist!

For her to bring up recruitment was undoubtedly like stepping on the heads of the Chinese Medicine Department in public and giving them a face slap.
