The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 321: Chapter 321: When Will You Bring Someone Home_1

She had always been a person with limited patience, and if it weren’t for Jhovany Sullivan and Freddy Cagwin being there, she might have already walked past the nuisance and left.

Zayn Fisher watched the girl before him, her skin so fair it dazzled the eyes, dressed in simple and elegant black and white. Her eyes were as black as ink, lashes lowered, making it obvious to anyone that she was not in the mood to chat, yet there seemed to be a mysterious hook within her, drawing people to look at her.

Even though her attitude towards him was not good, Zayn Fisher couldn’t shift his gaze away from her but was even more captivated, ”I have something for you.”

By the roadside, the black Phaeton quietly rested under the shade of the trees.

The man sitting in the back seat stretched out his long legs, reclining comfortably, holding a phone in one hand, an expression of lazy indifference on his face, his eyelashes just enough to conceal the emotions in his eyes, making it impossible for one to guess what he was thinking at the moment.

”Heading back in a few days... around the 3rd... Yeah... the exact date isn’t settled yet.”

His voice was low and rhythmic, like drumbeats against one’s heart.

”...I’ll contact you once I’m there.”

Over at Mr. Yancey’s mansion in Beijing, an elderly man with white hair and a beard, dressed in a suit, stood upright with an aura of unruffled authority. He was on the phone with someone, and his usually stern face was now unusually darkened with anger.

”You damned brat, when exactly are you coming back? It seems like you’re having so much fun outside that you’ve forgotten your way home! Edric too, he hasn’t called me recently.”

Listening to the roar coming through the phone, Amadeus Yancey’s lips curved slightly, he said carelessly, ”If you miss him, just call him. It’s not like he won’t answer your call.”

There was more left unsaid.

Even though Edric Yancey’s thoughts were all on Nathalie Quinlan, more than likely, he would just be distracted...

That was what he refrained from saying.

”Humph! Why should I be the one to call you guys? You should be calling me!”

Quite the tsundere.

”...” Amadeus Yancey raised the corners of his eyes, glancing at the caller ID, it seemed that this phone call was actually from his grandfather himself.

He shifted to a more comfortable position, already wanting to hang up, ”Alright, grandpa, what’s the matter with you calling me?”

Back at the Yancey mansion, Mr. Yancey’s face darkened even more, and he nearly couldn’t suppress his anger at his disrespectful grandson. Containing his rage, he coughed and then asked with firmness, ”Is Nathalie Quinlan also coming to Beijing? When do you plan to bring her back to meet me?”

”How did you know she’s going to Beijing? Alfred Garland told you?” Amadeus Yancey lowered his eyelids, playing with the Buddhist beads on his wrist.

The Buddhist beads, expected to convey a sense of calm and serenity, seemed to take on an indescribable fierceness as they moved through his fingers.

Scared, Alfred Garland felt a chill down his neck and quickly raised his hands in silent protest that he hadn’t spilled a word!

”Humph, you haven’t come back for half a year, and all of a sudden you tell me you are coming back. I can guess that it’s because Nathalie Quinlan is coming to Beijing, and you are trailing after her.”

”What kind of ability is it for a man to always follow his wife around!”

These words were spoken with vigor, on par with Candice Yancey.

While he spoke strongly, his tone was warm, ”Your aunt told me, Nathalie Quinlan healed Edric’s leg. Once he recovers, he’ll be able to walk like a normal child. She... She and her mother are both benefactors of our Yancey family. Don’t worry, I’m not that stubborn. I remember your marriage contract with Nathalie Quinlan, I won’t make things difficult for her!”
