Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 745: Chapter 223: Expanding the Colony_2

Of course, this feeling in Chen Ming arose from his prior knowledge of such topics.

Without a foundation, one might not even understand it, let alone gain knowledge from the blueprints.

Chen Ming shook his head and temporarily set aside all the knowledge points about blueprint design in his mind, replying to Song Pu, ”I’ve arrived. I was just looking at the engineer’s blueprints, and I’m preparing to dock.”

”Alright, can we start right after docking?”

”Anytime.”

Chen Ming temporarily put down the blueprints, stretched his muscles—which felt a bit stiff even in the simulation—and stood up to get to work.

Anyway, the blueprints were in hand, so it wouldn’t hurt to study them later.

After getting up, Chen Ming turned to look at Cheng Xinghai, who was sitting not far from him in a wheelchair, holding a mundane terminal monitored by Chen Ming and looking extremely bored watching TV, and said, ”It’s time for us to go.”

Cheng Xinghai immediately tossed the terminal aside and said to Chen Ming excitedly, ”Are we finally leaving? To where?”

”To a Planet.”

”You’re saying it like you didn’t say anything at all.”

”Guess why I’m saying it like I didn’t say anything at all.”

”...So dull.”

”You’ve said that many times just when I was looking at something.”

The spaceship quickly landed in a Space Station in satellite orbit.

Although Chen Ming came to an Industrial Colony, he first had to go to a local warehouse upon arrival.

This time, Chen Ming brought Cheng Xinghai along.

Having her wear a Protective Suit that wrapped her tightly and an exoskeleton for assisted walking, made by Chen Ming for disabled individuals.

At least, it allowed Cheng Xinghai to walk normally, so Chen Ming wouldn’t have to push a wheelchair, thus preventing identity exposure from this aspect.

This was the necessary cooperation required of Cheng Xinghai for Chen Ming taking her out.

Cheng Xinghai had no objections, as long as she didn’t have to stay in a cell, she was fine with anything.

Since the Space Station where Chen Ming landed had contracted the colony’s external materials transport task, most items needed to be transported elsewhere were piled up in this Space Station.

So Chen Ming first took a round on the Space Station and then headed to the Space Elevator linking the station to the surface.

Heading towards his actual destination.

During the gradual descent of the Space Elevator.

When the Industrial Colony became visible to the naked eye and appeared in Chen Ming’s sight.

The first thing he saw was the Earth Core Melting Furnace Power Tower standing on the flat land in the dark cosmic environment.

Chen Ming had seen this before, back at the Dusk Colony.

It provides a continuous source of Energy for the entire colony.

Below this Earth Core Melting Furnace Power Tower is a cluster of heavy industrial spaceship body manufacturing factories illuminated by various heat sources.

The factories constantly emit black smoke, which rises straight into the sky on this atmosphere-less Planet, forming a massive pillar of smoke.

At the end of the heat cycle of the Earth Core Melting Furnace Tower, this heavy smoke can obscure the tall tower for a moment.

Even without air, the enduring high heat from the factories below and the orange-red fiber optic heat emitted during the conversion of geothermal Energy by the Earth Core Melting Furnace Tower seemingly conducted through the vacuum and Protective Suit, reaching Chen Ming’s side.

This is a complete Industrial Colony.

In the colony, warehouses for storing and processing internal merchandise and products, as well as temporarily storing materials before being transported to other regions via the Space Station, are primarily located close to the Furnace Tower.

The Earth Core Melting Furnace Power Tower is the core of this Industrial Colony. Starting from its base, four logistics corridors extend outwards in the cardinal directions according to the planet’s magnetic poles.

Eventually, they converge at the logistics transportation area outside the colony, directly transported to the Space Station’s warehouses through the Space Elevator.

Or directly transported by spaceship to other locations on the planet, as there are some ancillary resources that can be developed on the planet.

While on the Space Elevator, Chen Ming observed the entire colony’s layout and pondered the effects expected after implementing the blueprint drawn by Hong Guanghong.

He also followed the guide arranged by Song Pu, taking the freight train on the southern transport line of the northeast-southwest directions of the Industrial Colony, arriving within the industrial zone.

As Chen Ming drew closer to the core of the industrial area, his attention was increasingly drawn to the Power Supply Tower.

The technological aura and a special sense of power from the tower made it truly captivating for him.

Unfortunately, in the simulation, he couldn’t control this device now.

The volume in the deep underground and the consumption of Spiritual Power brought by its technological level are not something he can bear alone.

Chen Ming had no choice but to retract his gaze and followed the guide smoothly to the warehouse beneath the Earth Core Melting Furnace Power Tower.

And took control of these warehouses filled with various industrial products and transported raw materials.

Some warehouses were specially marked, filled with materials urgently redeployed by Song Pu from other industrial tasks.

The expansion of the colony is the top priority, everything else can be slightly delayed.

The next thing Chen Ming needed to do was to transform these materials into the new buildings of the colony.
