Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 706: Chapter 213 Achievements and Invitations

The next day.

Over fifty assistants under Chen Ming’s dome were assigned their respective tasks.

After all, Chen Ming had previously been a group leader for a maintenance team, so these people were still under control.

With more than fifty people assisting, Chen Ming quickly compiled and completed all the research results, with all experimental records and files fully organized.

After another day passed, Bai Quan came to see Chen Ming for daily teaching.

Chen Ming brought out a semi-exoskeleton equipment that could be worn.

Seeing Bai Quan’s confusion, Chen Ming explained, ”This is the result of my recent research.”

”Later, you can find someone who has studied thermodynamics and the Mechanical Race, preferably someone who understands a bit about Spiritual Energy, and let them test this thing.”

”Remember to implement insulation measures, and if the energy supply is sufficient, an ordinary person should just barely achieve the level of effect similar to the Purgatory Demon King. How you use it is up to you.”

”Anyway, all the operation methods that should be in the manual are written. If it doesn’t work, come to me.”

As Chen Ming spoke, he sent a document to Bai Quan’s terminal.

Besides the necessary experimental records, papers, and data, there was also a video of a test conducted by a young researcher Chen Ming intentionally sought after completing all the experiments.

One could only say the effect was quite impressive.

Bai Quan glanced at it a few times and couldn’t wait to pick up the equipment Chen Ming had placed on the table, the gloom from the previous two incidents completely vanished from his face.

”I saw you could even cool erupting volcanoes before; the Purgatory Demon King shouldn’t be able to do that, should it? At most, it could slowly lower the temperature of lava flowing on the ground.”

Chen Ming did not deny this point and said, ”That’s right, which is why I split the paper into two, one for ordinary people and one for Psychics.”

”However, the equipment for Psychics isn’t this set; this one is specifically for ordinary people.”

Bai Quan looked down at the slightly bulky device in his hand and asked, ”Do Psychics also need such devices?”

”They can do without it, but not all Psychics can support entropy transfer with Spiritual Power directly, and not everyone can manipulate this thing with their hands like I can.”

”The equipment that should be used must still be used, and it must be an exclusive external device for Psychics. I... don’t have that technology.”

”Regarding Spiritual Ability Devices, the most I can do is write out the principles of their implementation. How to actually realize it is your business.”

”Anyway, you’ve seen the effects in the past couple of days. If it can’t be done, I have no way.”

Bai Quan nodded, his gaze continually sweeping over the device in his hand, and said, ”That’s still quite good. Once the principle is mastered, the subsequent development will be much simpler.”

Seeing Bai Quan’s attitude, Chen Ming took the opportunity to ask a question he was very concerned about: ”How is the development of such things accounted for within the Fourteenth Legion?”

”At the very least, it’s a second-class contribution to scientific research.”

”Second class?”

”Internally, we allocate military merits in scientific research into four classes: special class, first class, second class, and third class.”

”Generally, the class is determined by the type of research and the scope of the technology’s final application.”

”Then the specific types can be divided into three categories: military, civilian, and research, each with different standards.”

Chen Ming suddenly interjected at this moment: ”Wait a minute, the army also researches civilian technology?”

”Of course, they do; a lot of military technology is actually derived from civilian technology. Not researching it is like cutting off an arm; you can’t seriously expect all technology to come up from the civilian side, right?”

”I have no more questions.”

”Okay, then I’ll continue.”

”For military technology, if it can be applied to the frontline and the Dusk War as soon as it’s developed and has a significant effect, it will definitely be allocated as a special class contribution.”

”If it can be applied to the frontline immediately or has a significant effect, it’s considered first class.”

”The rest are second or third class, depending on the situation.”

Bai Quan paused slightly and continued, ”Then there’s technology in the civilian sector.”

”This is hard to define, given that the scope of this technology is just too broad.”

”It mainly depends on the influence of the technology and the coverage range after its introduction. If it’s enough to directly advance the entire Empire’s livelihood, that’s special class.”

”Actually, your previous Superspace Teleportation Engine could also be considered special class. Although the technological level isn’t the most profound, there hasn’t been similar research, and its convenience and wide applicability are enough for special class.”

”Really? Then can you give me a supplement?”

”Haha...”

Bai Quan chuckled dryly, turned his head, pretending not to hear Chen Ming’s words.

”As for the field of research, it’s very difficult to define concretely, and I can’t explain it clearly, but it’s still about contribution.”

”Moreover, there’s another method of grading scientific research merits, which is looking at the type of technology.”

”Important technology that can be used on a Main Ship class vessel is definitely special class, like Antimatter Technology. If this technology was first developed within the military, all participants would receive special class merit.”

”Then there’s your Superspace Teleportation Technology. Currently, deep research shows that a Main Ship class vessel can also be equipped with this system, which can be special class.”

”Cruiser class generally receives first class, although there are special circumstances for special class; the special circumstances...”

”Forget it, this is also very complicated, and a bit too complex to explain clearly now.”
