Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 718: Chapter 216: Reconciliation

Before putting on the helmet, Bai Quan held the terminal and made a phone call,

and after connecting, he directly said: ”I’ve opened up the spectating access for you, keep an eye and estimate Chen Ming’s spiritual power level.”

The voice of Bai Quan’s friend, the psychic, came from the other end of the phone: ”Is this kind of simulation really reliable?”

”Of course it’s not reliable, so it’s just a rough estimate.”

”Chen Ming came out of the Spiritual Ability Association, you know their rules, Chen Ming is now unwilling to accept any tests, so we can only use this method.”

The psychic friend said with a slightly displeased tone: ”If you ask me, just take advantage of his deep consciousness dive and secretly test him, many people are hoping Chen Ming will agree to a test someday, there’s no need for all this fuss.”

Bai Quan resolutely rejected this idea: ”No, I don’t want to turn a good friend into an enemy.”

”Whatever, I was just casually suggesting.”

Bai Quan didn’t dwell on this and said: ”Let me ask you something, for you psychics, is there anything that can assist in restoring spiritual power or directly improving spiritual power that’s considered a good thing?”

”Something with both of these functions? Let me think.”

”Spiritual Stones with the ’spiritual’ characteristic, special spiritual creatures, ship spirits, spiritual weapons are also good, oh, by the way, I’ve heard of something called Gathering Spiritual Energy Origin, that might work too.”

”Hmm... also various devices found in the ruins of that civilization’s psychics, and the unique spiritual weapons they left behind, that’s about it. What’s up, asking about this suddenly?”

”Nothing, I was just asking casually.”

”I don’t believe it, I bet you’re suspecting Chen Ming has something similar over there.”

”Since you already know, why ask.”

As Bai Quan spoke, he put on the helmet.

”Alright, enough chatter, we need to get in quickly, don’t keep people waiting.”

”Got it, got it.”

Just when Bai Quan had just laid down in the equipment.

Chen Ming had already completed his deep consciousness dive, and his body was still able to function normally.

This is considered good news, at least Chen Ming wouldn’t be rendered immobile on both ends due to the consciousness in the dummy.

But this put him in a rather peculiar state.

The part of consciousness in the dummy was indeed accelerated, but at the same time, this part of consciousness also caused some changes to the main consciousness in Chen Ming’s body, accelerating the thought speed of Chen Ming’s body as well.

The dummy’s thought acceleration multiplier allowed tasks that would take a month to be resolved in just a dozen hours.

The body-influenced thought speed acceleration is roughly around 10%, meaning Chen Ming’s body thought speed was accelerated nearly fivefold in just a few tens of seconds.

A day could be used like five days.

Of course, Chen Ming’s current thought speed was already accelerated several times with the aid of the hive mind networks of the Mechanical Race and Insect Race.

So the effect of these two together has led Chen Ming’s thought speed to an exaggerated level.

Wait a minute, Chen Ming suddenly understood why the body’s acceleration efficiency was only 10%.

It’s because of these two hive minds.

The dummy only contained part of Chen Ming’s consciousness.

It’s equivalent to an independent sub-consciousness controlled by Chen Ming yet affected by the thought speed of Chen Ming’s main body.

While the body not only hosts Chen Ming’s main consciousness but also the consciousness of the Insect Race and Mechanical Race, augmenting the body’s thought capabilities.

Thus it was jointly accelerated by the feedback from the dummy, so the overall acceleration efficiency was naturally lower.

Revisiting the current situation.

Roughly, the Mechanical Race and Insect Race provided thought speed boost for the body.

The body then provided the same thought speed boost to the consciousness in the dummy.

Then the thought acceleration of the dummy fed back to the body.

Due to the presence of the two hive minds, further acceleration couldn’t stack, thus only reaching about five times the original.

The dummy’s and body’s enhancements didn’t mutually stack, this kind of miraculous stepping into the sky didn’t occur, resulting in the current situation.

Seems like when it’s over Chen Ming should ask the Insect Queen whether she felt any thought acceleration.

To observe whether the Insect Race and Mechanical Race were actually pure hindrances in this aspect or took a portion of the boost Chen Ming was supposed to have.

If it took a portion, then it would likely benefit the future development of the Insect Queen greatly.

Moreover, this situation doesn’t significantly impact Chen Ming himself.

After all, the thought acceleration from the dummy is still substantial, allowing the dummy to accomplish many tasks at an astonishing thought speed.

Chen Ming quickly grasped the situation after the dummy went into deep consciousness dive.

Simultaneously, after slightly adapting to the accelerated thought, he quickly got used to it.

Yet this simulation device left a very deep impression on Chen Ming, given the exaggerated thought acceleration multiplier.

Previously, he hadn’t paid attention to this type of existence within the simulation device.

Looks like Chen Ming will have to study this potentially brain and nerve-related technology later.

Chen Ming actually has a similar item at hand.

Something obtained from Dusk, the Neural Overclocking Device.

It possesses the ability to stimulate brain nerves within a certain period post-use, enhancing nerve activity and accelerating thought.

When he first encountered this device, the files from Dusk indicated it was a relic from another civilization.
