Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 715: Chapter 215 Background Story_2

The majority of researchers who came here also knew about this situation. Those who didn’t, understood it more or less when Chen Ming handed them part of the Purgatory Core research report for assistance in its completion.

So it stands to reason that a research institute like this would have a holiday after completing a research task.

Although most of the project was handled by Chen Ming alone, with others only participating in some purely auxiliary work at the final stage.

And it had only been a few days since these researchers officially started working.

But all the necessary rules are in place.

Plus, after completing the research on the Purgatory Core and submitting the complete report to Bai Quan,

The other researchers at the Extraordinary Research Institute also received the complete Purgatory Core research report sent to them by Chen Ming, so they all knew the project was completed.

As they are familiar with the work and the project is completed, there will always be time for rest,

And for researchers, during the holiday period, if they are interested, they will naturally read Chen Ming’s complete thesis, especially since many came because of Chen Ming’s reputation as the most knowledgeable Psychic regarding the Mechanical Race.

If there are any who are not interested, they would have no objections to Chen Ming’s paid holiday, because outside of Chen Ming, the other researchers at the Extraordinary Research Institute have no restrictions on their movements.

The Fourteenth Legion’s station isn’t entirely without leisure time and some domes for relaxation and entertainment for its personnel.

Especially for non-military researchers.

Contacting someone to pick you up through the terminal only takes a few minutes.

However, it seems that everyone at the research institute is quite interested in Chen Ming’s complete research report, with no one saying they want to go out.

This makes it very easy on Chen Ming, allowing him to peacefully attend Cheng Xinghai’s battle.

After dinner,

Bai Quan appeared near Chen Ming’s dome in a Destroyer that seemed to be intended for the next reconnaissance mission and picked up Chen Ming for the location of the simulation equipment.

Chen Ming already knew the simulation equipment was installed in a separate dome, and he even knew the general situation here.

Although it was his first visit, he walked very familiarly within the building housing the simulation equipment.

He soon arrived in front of the simulation equipment, which occupied an area almost as large as his dome’s laboratory.

At the equipment, Bai Quan suddenly stopped, calling up a menu on the simulation equipment’s control screen, and said to Chen Ming, ”Because what’s coming up is a new simulated battle, I need to go over the rules with you once more.”

While operating the menu, Bai Quan continued, ”The basic rules are almost the same as the last time, but I’ve lifted most of the restrictions for you, set it according to what your Spiritual Energy can achieve.”

”However, I have a few things to confirm with you because this simulation might involve a Main Ship.”

”So I have to ask you up front, can you tell me? Can you control a Main Ship?”

Bai Quan’s inquiry was naturally reasonable.

After all, to set the rules of the simulation equipment that fits Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy, it would inevitably expose some of his information.

However, for Chen Ming, as long as the Insect Race is not revealed, any other Spiritual Powers could be freely used.

He had already more or less exposed his ability to control ships and various industrial facilities.

These couldn’t be concealed under the prerequisite of wanting to build a colony of his own.

The ability to control the Mechanical Race was undoubtedly speculated from the moment he exposed his ability to control Dusk.

So, exposure was just exposure.

This exposed intelligence might even provide more information about his Spiritual Energy to the think tank, explaining ambiguities that were hard to convey otherwise.

The previous achievement of the think tank immediately finding the most correct usage method for the Mechanical Race shows that their role is significant, and leaking this info is more likely to have a positive impact than a negative one.

So after thinking it through, Chen Ming gave a positive answer, ”I can tell.”

But Chen Ming immediately added, ”However, I’ve never actually controlled a Main Ship, so before truly controlling one, I can only give you an estimated answer.”

”Estimates are fine; just say what comes to you.”

Chen Ming thought for a moment.

Currently, he can control up to eight Cruisers, one more than before.

He’s indeed nearing the level of controlling a Main Ship, so after considering, he said, ”I can control anything, including ships and industrial equipment, apart from a massive consumption of Spiritual Power the moment I control it, maintaining my Spiritual Energy’s control over the equipment is quite simple.”

”The amount of Spiritual Power needed for a Main Ship far exceeds that of a Cruiser, which could be challenging given my current total Spiritual Power, but pushing myself, it should be possible, though it might cause me to faint afterward.”

Bai Quan considered this and said, ”Alright then, you can control the Main Ship, but after controlling the Main Ship, there’ll be a day of inactivity within the simulation, how does that sound?”

”No problem.”

”Good. Second question, if you completely exhaust your Spiritual Power, would your control over these things break off?”
