Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 724: Chapter 218 Escape

At this moment, Chen Ming was in the taxi and could already see spacecraft lands at the civil spaceport from afar.

And at this time, he happened to see Song Pu mentioning him on the terminal.

So, he said directly in the channel, ”I’m approaching the airport. I saw a file on the terminal mentioning there’s a safe house in the surrounding colonies. I should be able to take shelter there.”

Song Pu reminded him, ”Better safe than sorry. The location of the safe house might be discovered; if you notice anything unusual, run immediately.”

”I’ve already arranged for a special ops team to infiltrate over there. You need to find a way to hide for a day or two.”

”Got it.”

Chen Ming quickly replied and continued to ask on the terminal, ”How’s the progress on capturing Cheng Xinghai?”

”We’ve just locked her position and are implementing the capture plan. She’s near the border between our territory and the government army’s occupied zone, not far from you, just a few flight paths away.”

”You’ve found her already?”

”Yes.”

Song Pu had just responded when he suddenly realized.

The abilities of both sides in this simulation battle were similar. Since they had locked onto Cheng Xinghai, then the opponents...

At this point, Chen Ming was almost a step away from the airport. Somehow, the sparse traffic around him had completely disappeared.

The taxi was still moving forward, but its speed was gradually decreasing.

And when Chen Ming tried to open the car door, he couldn’t open it at all, only receiving a prompt that his access was locked.

Chen Ming immediately took full control of the taxi remotely operated by the taxi company.

However, he still let the taxi slowly decelerate according to the original command sent by the taxi company.

Looking at the appearance of police hovercraft gradually emerging in the sky in the distance, Chen Ming felt he had to walk the last stretch himself.

However, he didn’t rush to get out of the car but crouched at the back seat of the taxi, where the car door could cover him while using materials inside the taxi to handcraft a micro-robot and place it at the bottom of the taxi, observing the situation outside.

In the short dozens of seconds that Chen Ming’s taxi stopped.

Originally empty surroundings had been filled with reinforcements belonging to the local police.

The direction of the airport had been completely sealed off, with a layer of isolation set up, and a large number of humanoid police robots thoroughly surrounded Chen Ming within minutes.

Although these mechanical bodies might become Chen Ming’s assistance, approaching them was a big problem.

Chen Ming at this time no longer expected the taxi to carry him forward, quickly converted all materials inside the taxi except for the outer shell into liquid metal, hovering around him, ready to transform into anything Chen Ming wanted it to become at any moment.

Just then, Chen Ming suddenly saw a hovercraft approaching his direction somewhat, simultaneously shouting at him, ”Disarm and surrender immediately! Otherwise, we’ll use lethal force!”

Chen Ming wasn’t planning to pay attention to them, still considering how to safely reach the airport beyond the police line.

But just when the second warning echoed.

A hovercraft floating far away suddenly had a tail flame of something being launched.

The robot Chen Ming left at the taxi bottom instantly locked onto the launched item’s appearance and sent back the photo.

It was a miniature missile.

”What the—?”

Chen Ming thought the police would give more warnings.

After all, it seemed they didn’t want to kill him directly but to capture him alive.

Moreover, Chen Ming originally planned to strike violently when the police robots approached to arrest him.

But evidently, the other side wasn’t giving him the chance.

Perhaps someone behind ordered to go straight for the kill.

Chen Ming cursed under his breath, his spiritual energy instantly activated.

The taxi that originally still had a shell liquefied along with the liquid metal encircling Chen Ming and soared into the sky onto one side.

The large liquid metal vortex constructed from the liquid metal suspended in mid-air, blocking the miniature missile’s launch trajectory.

Almost the moment Chen Ming set up the vortex, the miniature missile arrived near him.

Countless liquid metal scattered in the blast’s impact, but was instantly controlled by Chen Ming’s spiritual energy to return.

The majority re-wrapped around Chen Ming, who had lost the taxi’s protection, forming a somewhat bulky power armor around Chen Ming.

Chen Ming didn’t have many choices; he could only use materials to layer, relying on somewhat reduced mobility to enhance the power armor’s protective capabilities.

So as not to be penetrated at the first encounter, injuring Chen Ming himself.

The remaining materials constituted a flight robot, flying straight into the sky.

It could help Chen Ming acquire an aerial view of the area around the airport, coordinating with the small robot on the ground to quickly map out the best route.

It’s a pity that due to materials constraints, this is the most his spiritual energy can achieve now.

But it’s enough.

Taking advantage of the explosion’s smoke not entirely dispersed.

Chen Ming controlled the somewhat bulkier power armor to rush out of the smoke.

The police robots originally blocking the direction between Chen Ming and the airport immediately sprang into action, raising the electric shock guns mounted on their arms.

Sharp electrode needles directly pierced into the limbs of the power armor on Chen Ming, soaring voltage instantly damaging the circuits inside the armor, causing black smoke to emit.
