Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 744: Chapter 223: Expanding the Colony

After leaving the logistics center, Chen Ming immediately set off towards the second target location.

This time, however, Chen Ming didn’t directly use the teleportation system or the normal teleportation system to travel, instead he slowly flew through the superspace.

As he waited for Hong Guanghong to send over the blueprints, he also waited for his Spiritual Power, which was consumed when controlling the logistics center warehouse, to recover.

The destination for Chen Ming this time was an industrial colony planet.

On the star map, he could view the various data of the destination planet, as well as the general appearance of the destination planet.

When Chen Ming clicked on the corresponding position on the star map, a planet surrounded by satellites appeared in front of him.

However, he was not heading to that planet, but to a seemingly desolate satellite orbiting it.

This satellite housed an industrial colony, mainly producing basic ship bodies and various component structures, as well as taking on some planetary mineral resource development tasks.

However, mineral resource development did not concern Chen Ming; the colony itself focused on industrial production.

Mineral resources were just incidental, managed by small outposts outside the main colony, similar to what Chen Ming had seen at the industrial colony in Dusk.

Running to each of these scattered and small places was indeed unnecessary for Chen Ming.

While Chen Ming was reviewing the information about the destination planet, some time had passed since he departed from the last logistics center.

It was at this moment that Hong Guanghong suddenly sent over the planning blueprints for Chen Ming’s target industrial colony.

The blueprints, adhering to Chen Ming’s requirements, involved almost pure expansion based on the existing industrial facilities, with only a handful of buildings needing to be built independently.

This meant Chen Ming could follow the plan without having to manage anything himself.

However, he didn’t just jump into it; he spent some time studying the logic and planning within the blueprints seriously.

Of course, Chen Ming understood the overall content, but the elements hidden behind it were worth researching deeply.

Although this special pure expansion design was Chen Ming’s requirement, he himself had never done anything similar before.

So, under the premise of fulfilling the original requirements, the new design made under new constraints was quite special.

Chen Ming, after a casual glance, could sense that some special design techniques were embedded within these blueprints.

Furthermore, these blueprints also bore clear traces of military technology.

They were very similar to the foundational technology of the cruisers Chen Ming had previously learned from Bai Quan.

Hong Guanghong was a military academy engineering student nearing graduation.

Although Chen Ming had graduated many years ago, and his technical level had rapidly improved during that time,

in terms of technical expertise and advancement, as well as some special military design methods, to be honest, he couldn’t compare to Hong Guanghong.

After all, it hadn’t been very long since he obtained the military technology from Bai Quan, only two or three months.

Starting from scratch requires time, and there’s no way to compare with someone who has been studying in the field for three to four years.

However, if Chen Ming could learn based on others’ experiences, standing on the shoulders of others, the difficulty would be different.

Moreover, he didn’t need to worry about adopting others’ techniques affecting his own technological style when using various technologies.

His technical methods had already taken shape, and everything he learned now would only branch new aspects from his main skills, enhancing his own abilities without impacting his technology.

For these reasons, when Chen Ming received the blueprints, he did not rush to teleport to the destination to start building, but instead decided to start learning right on the spot.

This was also a rare opportunity.

The deep consciousness immersion provided by the Fourteenth Legion’s simulation equipment gave him a super high thought speed multiplier.

At the same time, a design blueprint reflecting the standard of a near-graduation military academy engineering student was in front of him.

Anyone with some ambition and drive would know what to do.

Especially since Chen Ming’s main body was already overextending some Spiritual Power to learn new things at multiple times the reduced thought speed.

With several times the thought speed boost here on the simulation side, over the dozen or so hours, he could learn just as well—why not?

Multiplying his thought speed several times could extend a dozen hours into a month, and he didn’t even need rest, even if most of the time was devoted to simulation combat itself.

Leaving the remaining time unutilized would be a waste for sure.

As Chen Ming delved into his studies, he didn’t know how much time had passed.

Chen Ming’s special terminal suddenly vibrated.

Song Pu said something to Chen Ming over the communication frequency: ”I’ve received a message here, a Ruler Level cruiser has arrived at the industrial colony over there. Have you reached your destination yet?”

Chen Ming immediately shifted his focus away from the blueprints and glanced out of the porthole.

The seemingly desolate satellite and the ice-covered, cold planet below formed a stark contrast.

The auto-navigation had already brought him to the destination.

The speed of the Superspace Channel travel within the Star Zone was very reliable.

The time Chen Ming spent on the blueprints was actually just a moment.

But even in that brief moment, the insights he gained in industrial design felt even more fruitful than what he had learned in the past week studying this aspect on his own.
