Chapter 707: Chapter 213 Achievements and Invitation_2

Bai Quan gestured to the device in his hand and said, ”Let’s come back to your technology later.”

”It’s difficult to determine its major impact; we can only say that it definitely has an effect. Whether it’s major or not depends on the situation.”

”Currently, the front line doesn’t really need Purgatory Core technology, because right now the front line is mainly Dusk’s, not ours. The Purgatory Core doesn’t play a significant role.”

”However, this technology is very valuable in both civilian and research fields.”

Bai Quan suddenly recalled and said, ”I specifically went to ask someone about the uses of the Purgatory Core.”

”They said that judging from the output power of the Purgatory Demon King on the battlefield, the Purgatory Core can maintain the entropy stability of a colony.”

”It ignores any environment, neutralizing the negative effects of extremely cold or hot planets on a colony, and reduces the pressure on the life support system.”

Chen Ming, somewhat puzzled, asked, ”Does this count? It feels like the Purgatory Core and the life support system are on different levels.”

”You’re not wrong to say that, but some extreme environment planets have valuable resources, and if you want to develop these resources, you still have to build a colony.”

”The life support systems for colonies on these dangerous planets come at a very high cost.”

”Using a Purgatory Core obtained from the battlefield, which isn’t that scarce, to offset the temperature pressure on extreme environment planets, is well worth it.”

Chen Ming considered the possibility of Bai Quan’s statement.

As long as it’s not a planet with temperatures hundreds of degrees below zero or one submerged in magma above a thousand degrees Celsius, the Purgatory Core should be able to support a colony.

Apart from the Purgatory Core, the only cost is the power consumption during use, certainly cheaper than the normal life support temperature system.

The life support system also requires maintenance and replacement.

So Chen Ming agreed, ”That indeed makes sense.”

”Mm, there’s probably not much more to say in the research field.”

”You have already provided a complete framework for the Purgatory Core, and all subsequent research is conducted based on your framework, which already has enough value.”

”Therefore, looking at your research on the Purgatory Core with the most basic and conservative perspective—considering only its inherent value—it’s rated as second-class, but taking into account its impact in other fields, it’s likely first-class, with a small chance of being special-class.”

At this point, Chen Ming interjected, ”Even with the spiritual energy-related technology, it’s only first-class?”

Bai Quan rubbed his forehead and said, ”I told you it’s likely, not certain.”

”Moreover, there’s a new evaluation standard for spiritual energy technology, which I’m not very familiar with.”

”My understanding of your technology is only up to the extent of the fixed volcano a few days ago. Your technology’s impact on ordinary people, other psychics, and its potential for further development will all affect the final decision.”

”It’s not up to me to decide; the decision has to come from headquarters.”

”You don’t have to worry; as long as I’m here, you will receive every bit of your military achievements.”

”However, there’s one thing I need to tell you in advance. This technology’s patent absolutely belongs to you, but you must develop it together with our Fourteenth Legion.”

”?”

Chen Ming raised a question mark, asking, ”I’ve given you both the technology and the physical item. What do you think I want to do?”

Bai Quan, also aware of this, said with a slightly embarrassed face, ”It’s just a formality to ask. Even if you don’t want to know, I have to tell you.”

”Alright.”

”Now I know, but I still have a question. What are the rewards for different levels of military achievements within the military?”

Bai Quan pulled up a document on the terminal and said, ”The most straightforward reward for military achievements is rank; usually, you can directly climb two to three levels, and there will be actual material rewards as well.”

”These special and first-class achievements themselves are top honors within the military, even in the research field.”

”Additionally, you’ll receive preferential treatment in the use of public facilities, along with various subsidies provided jointly by the government and the military.”

”There are also significant benefits for future generations, as many of these benefits are inheritable, as long as the descendants serve once or also become researchers within the military.”

Chen Ming thought for a moment and said, ”I’m not concerned about anything else. What are the material rewards?”

”The material rewards within the military aren’t much, at least for you, they won’t be much. But for ordinary people, they’re enough to live out their lives comfortably and leave assets for several generations. The most significant are those special perks that can be inherited.”

”It feels a bit unsatisfying. I need something more practical.”

For ordinary people, most of the benefits Bai Quan mentioned are indeed invaluable, but for him, their value seemed somewhat diminished.

Though he didn’t spend much time researching the Purgatory Core, resolving it rather effortlessly with spiritual energy, it doesn’t mean others could accomplish it with the same ease. He shouldn’t miss out on the deserved rewards, should he?

”Moreover, I’m a temporary tactical advisor for the Fourteenth Legion. Although I enjoy the Colonel’s benefits, I’m still a civilian in reality. Are these military achievements really useful?”

Bai Quan immediately said, ”They definitely are. If you join the Fourteenth Legion, I can directly help you achieve the rank of a real Colonel.”

”However, if you don’t want to, I can also facilitate the exchange of your military achievements for something you need, with your consent, and it’s limited to you.”
