Chapter 735: Chapter 220 Thoughts_4

So we’ll need to keep an eye on things when the time comes.

After tending to Cheng Xinghai’s right leg injury, Chen Ming stood up, ready to reach out via the terminal to the others; everything was sorted on his end.

However, Cheng Xinghai suddenly lifted his head at this moment and said to Chen Ming, ”Thanks.”

Chen Ming was taken aback, nodded in response after confirming it wasn’t a trap from Cheng Xinghai, ”You’re welcome.”

After speaking, he turned and left the room, sending a message directly on the terminal: ”All set.”

This time, Cheng Xinghe replied even faster than Song Pu: ”Great! Is he completely dead?”

”No, I’ve captured someone alive and am on my way back.”

”What a pity...”

Chen Ming didn’t quite understand what Cheng Xinghe found regrettable.

Yet before he could complain, Song Pu quickly chimed in, ”You handle your prisoner; my suggestion is put her in a room with a small TV, as this is a simulation battle, not a real life-and-death war. We can’t really interrogate her.”

”Remember, you mentioned a fracture before; it should be Cheng Xinghai’s fracture, not yours, right? Don’t leave the treatment entirely to NPCs, or she might escape.”

”I got it.”

Chen Ming took Song Pu’s advice seriously, as Song Pu had much more experience in this than he did.

In fact, he had planned to do just that and had similar thoughts.

However, Chen Ming had one more question to ask: ”Is there any use for taking Cheng Xinghai prisoner?”

Although Chen Ming thought capturing someone alive would be more useful than dead, he really hadn’t figured out how it was useful.

Song Pu’s answer surprised Chen Ming: ”From what I know, prisoners are mostly useless.”

”As I just said, this is just a simulation, and death is routine. Everyone knows each other, so there’s no way we could do harsh interrogations.”

”If there’s one use for a prisoner, it’s to distract her teammates.”

”We’re in teams of five; when one dies, teammates receive a terminal alert.”

”If you took Cheng Xinghai’s terminal, her teammates couldn’t contact her, nor understand her situation, only knowing she’s alive.”

”Exactly how effective this tactic is... probably not much.”

”As for using the prisoner to threaten her teammates...”

Chen Ming finished Song Pu’s thought, ”Looks like it’s not very meaningful either.”

After all, it’s just a simulation.

Chen Ming glanced back at the room where Cheng Xinghai was held. Cheng Xinghai was already lying on the bed, covering her eyes with her arm, deep in thought.

”Let’s just hold her for now. There’s no need for food or sleep in the simulation anyway.”

”Indeed, once you’re back, we can formally begin this battle.”

”With such a strong start, we can really go all out.”

Song Pu continued to address Chen Ming, ”As the highest leader of the Rebel Army, I can assign your role freely, placing you where you’re most suited. Do you have any ideas?”

Chen Ming honestly couldn’t think of anything he should be doing, so after consideration, he simply said, ”Let me get to know the Rebel Army’s warehouses.”

”I remember that; once you’re back, I’ll arrange for you to visit the Logistics Hub Star System and some Industrial Colonies. Even if you pass by, don’t go by yourself; the garrison troops might not recognize you.”

”Understood.”

Chen Ming’s words concluded, but Song Pu remained in thought.

Although Chen Ming seemed to have answered Song Pu’s question, Song Pu could clearly see Chen Ming was actually as blind as can be in this situation.

He was utterly clueless about his role in large-scale battles between the Government Army and Rebel Army.

It was evident he lacked experience and was used to working solo.

So Song Pu decisively started helping arrange matters; placing the right people in the right roles was something someone like him should do.

If he did this part correctly, then the rest depended on others performing.

Even someone with no experience can be more effective in the right position than an experienced person in the wrong one.

An inexperienced but highly capable person is even more so.

Certainly, Chen Ming’s deployment required careful consideration.
