Chapter 728: Chapter 219 Escape?

Song Pu received the news of his subordinates’ failure to capture Cheng Xinghai just as Chen Ming rushed into the airport.

When Cheng Xinghai boarded the ship and set sail, he knew they could no longer continue to pursue Cheng Xinghai.

The reason was the same as what was said on Cheng Xinghai’s side.

It was due to the current constraints of the Rebel Army.

However, he had not disclosed this bad news earlier.

After all, Chen Ming’s side was also in an emergency situation, and revealing bad news wouldn’t help.

It was only now, with Chen Ming safe, that he revealed the news.

Engineer Hong Guanghong immediately said over the communication channel, ”This month-long simulated battle is just beginning. It’s unlikely for it to start with a deadly scenario.”

”Even if you issued orders immediately, it’s normal for people to escape if they reacted swiftly. No need to blame yourself; since the Psychic has returned, it’s just a normal start.”

When Hong Guanghong said this, Chen Ming suddenly realized his problem and said, ”If you look at it the other way, dragging out the time too long could make escape more difficult, like what happened to me just now.”

His sensitivity to battlefield situations was not sharp enough, and his reaction was half a beat slow, ultimately getting blocked outside the airport.

If he had left a few minutes earlier, he might have escaped without a ripple like Cheng Xinghai.

Song Pu immediately said, ”It’s not your fault. I was too slow to remind you. Seeing the spy document placed so conspicuously, I should have checked it at first sight. If I had seen Cheng Xinghai’s intelligence, I could have alerted you immediately.”

At this moment, Hong Guanghong interjected, ”Alright, stop passing the blame. Let’s discuss the plan after the Psychic returns.”

”Okay.”

Song Pu agreed decisively, not wasting time on the blame issue.

However, at this moment, Chen Ming interrupted again, ”Wait a minute. I remember you mentioned that Cheng Xinghai and I are actually relative in position. We’re both near opposing forces’ territories close to our side, and we’re not too far apart, right?”

”That’s right.”

”Then I have an idea...”

Chen Ming’s idea was obvious in light of what he had just said.

Those who just saw Chen Ming’s superspace teleportation operations through Song Pu’s espionage techniques instantly understood the situation.

But Song Pu did not support Chen Ming’s idea: ”It’s best not to attack civilian ships. Any trace you leave on that ship will make us extremely vulnerable.”

Chen Ming understood Song Pu’s concerns and said, ”On the ship, it’s my home ground. I won’t leave any traces.”

Song Pu reiterated, ”If there’s any issue, however minor, on the ship, it could be escalated by the Government Army, significantly affecting us.”

”The risk is enormous, and the reward isn’t equivalent.”

”One Cheng Xinghai can’t compare to the basic supporters of our Rebel Army unless... you have absolute confidence.”

”Can you accurately find Cheng Xinghai on a ship with over a thousand civilians and kill or capture her without alerting anyone or leaving any traces?”

”Not everyone needs to be silenced; as long as there’s no substantive video, photo, or audio evidence, can you do it?”

Chen Ming gave a confident reply: ”Trust me, there’s much you don’t know about my Spiritual Energy.”

Song Pu fell silent, then said after a moment, ”The risk is still immense, but I agree.”

Hong Guanghong and Dong Miao quickly responded.

”I agree too.”

”No objections.”

Cheng Xinghe also sent a message on the terminal after a short while: ”1.”

”Everyone agrees. I’ll send the coordinates to you.”

Chen Ming’s special terminal quickly received a string of numerical coordinates, which were the channel coordinates for the civilian passenger ship Cheng Xinghai was on.

After a quick calculation, Chen Ming learned the ship’s current position was about a quarter of the way through its entire route and wouldn’t take long to leave the Rebel Army’s actual control area.

The moment the ship was about to reach the junction between the Government Army and Rebel Army’s actual control zones would be when Chen Ming would act.

The Superspace Channel Teleportation System is ready.

Chen Ming activated the superspace teleportation system, appearing in the target channel shortly afterward, close to the side of the Rebel Army’s occupied zone.

Now, he needed to wait quietly for the prey to reach the designated position.

Chen Ming, having been a hunter for a while, had the patience for it.

During the wait, some ships occasionally passed through this channel, but none could detect Chen Ming’s ship.

On one hand, those civilian ships had weak detection systems. On the other hand, Chen Ming used isolation scanning materials found on a ship doing some smuggling business while manufacturing his own ship.

With the engine and all systems that could reveal his ship shut off, and sticking to the edge of the channel near the rolling Superspace clouds, it was indeed difficult to be detected.

This scene suddenly felt familiar to Chen Ming.

It seemed he had done this before.

But previously, Chen Ming was targeting pirates, and now he’s targeting Cheng Xinghai.

Recall that last time, Chen Ming ambushed a pirate who had rashly intercepted supplies from his boss’s colony.
