After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 197: Chapter 198: Ten Thousand Yuan Phone Bill [7]

”I am honored to receive your invitation, but it’s too late now. Let’s talk another time!” Luo Xiaoqian declined politely.

”That’s fine!” CEO Shao didn’t insist and immediately arranged a company car to take the two of them back to the city.

Considering it was too late and fearing there would be no more transportation to the suburbs, Luo Xiaoqian didn’t return to the lakeside villa and went straight back to World City.

Having spent several hours just sitting in the car, and waiting backstage for the performance, she was already exhausted.

However, the thought of getting paid soon made her unable to suppress a small surge of excitement.

Upon opening the door, she naturally headed to the kitchen to find something to eat. She had only had a box meal at five o’clock, and now four or five hours had passed; she was hungry long ago.

Opening the fridge, she found milk and biscuits and casually poured the milk into a cup to reheat in the microwave. However, she caught a glimpse of a square appliance that was new to a corner of the kitchen.

Curiously biting on a biscuit, she walked over, opened the door of the appliance, and saw neatly arranged racks—it was a dishwasher.

”Luxury!”

Luo Xiaoqian snorted disdainfully, turned around to get the milk from the microwave, but then turned back to look at the dishwasher.

Leng Zimo had never cooked before, so naturally, there were no dishes to wash. Could this dishwasher have been purchased for her?

She had heard about gifting jewelry, bags, and cars to lovers, but giving a dishwasher was genuinely unique to Leng Zimo.

This guy, he couldn’t be planning to have her cook for him for a lifetime, could he?!

Dream on!

Just as she was rolling her eyes at the dishwasher, her phone rang from her bag.

Luo Xiaoqian put down the milk, answered the phone, but found it was a message from the carrier, showing that her phone had just been recharged with ten thousand yuan worth of credit.

Ten thousand yuan in phone credit?!

Who’s the fool that got the wrong number and recharged her phone? Recharging ten thousand yuan worth of credit—isn’t that a bit too extravagant?

Luo Xiaoqian was about to confirm with the service provider when the screen lit up, and the word ”Tyrant” flashed up.

Sure enough, speak of the devil and he shall appear. Whatever she feared would happen, happened.

Just a moment ago, she had checked her phone and hadn’t seen any texts or missed calls from Leng Zimo. Luo Xiaoqian was relieved, thinking that guy was probably too busy and had no time for her tonight.

Without hesitation, she quickly answered the call.

”Where are you?” As soon as the call connected, Leng Zimo’s voice roared out, ”Is the phone for eating? Why didn’t you recharge it, and you didn’t answer the landline either!”

Uh!

Luo Xiaoqian was taken aback.

Could it be that he was the one who’d recharged her phone credit?

”I’m at home. I didn’t know my phone was out of credit, and that landline—I was practicing singing and didn’t hear it!” she cautiously spun a little lie.

Please, let’s hope he doesn’t ask her to check the landline now or she’d be dead meat.

On the other end of the phone, Leng Zimo took a slow breath, ”The lyrics and arrangement are all set. Come to the company tomorrow, ready to start recording!”

On this end of the phone, Luo Xiaoqian also breathed a sigh of relief, ”Okay!”

”Cancel the training tomorrow morning. Go take a shower and sleep right now!” Leng Zimo’s voice remained commanding but was much gentler, ”Keep your phone on and answer at all times. If something like this happens again...”

”Absolutely not, absolutely not!” she hurriedly interjected, ”Then I’m going to sleep now, goodnight!”

”Idiot!” he growled softly, ”It’s only the afternoon here!”
