After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 196: Chapter 197: Commercial Performance [6]

On the other end of the phone,

Leng Zimo listened to the dial tone coming through the phone, put it away, and wrapped his arms around himself as he gazed at the night view of the Mediterranean Sea. However, what appeared before his eyes was the image of Luo Xiaoqian, puffing with anger as she rode her bicycle.

The corners of his mouth lifted unconsciously into a smile.

...

...

Inside the Rolls-Royce.

Luo Xiaoqian glanced at Xiao Ding, who was driving, and answered Yu Tong’s call.

”Yu Tong, what’s up?”

”About the commercial performance you mentioned, there’s a company in Daxing celebrating its twentieth anniversary tonight, and a singer suddenly couldn’t make it. Sixty thousand for two songs, are you interested?”

”Of course...” Luo Xiaoqian glanced at Xiao Ding, ”I’ll call you back in a bit!”

After hanging up, she made up an excuse about wanting to go shopping and asked Xiao Ding to stop the car by the roadside.

”Didn’t Mr. Leng ask me to take you straight back to the villa?” Xiao Ding was somewhat troubled.

Brown-noser!

”Can’t I use the restroom?” Luo Xiaoqian gave him a stern look, hopped out of the car, and darted into a nearby mall. After quickly calling Yu Tong back and setting things up, she then returned to the car.

After getting back to the villa, she got ready in a hurry, grabbed her bag, and hopped in the car to head downtown to the performance venue with Yu Tong.

The hosting company for the celebration was a large multinational corporation. Thanks to the organizers’ thorough preparations, the evening’s performance went very smoothly. The singer Luo Xiaoqian was replacing was also a second-tier singer. Although her fee was several times less, since she had been arranged to perform, she was given a spot slightly later in the lineup.

Due to various incidents before, when the host announced Luo Xiaoqian’s name, the audience below immediately started buzzing with excitement.

That night, Luo Xiaoqian sang two songs as requested. The first was ”Empty Words,” which she performed during the auditions, and the second was ”White Moonlight.” With the training over the past few days, her singing had greatly improved, and she performed both songs more beautifully than ever. When it came to ”White Moonlight,” it was almost a full audience sing-along, and the response was extremely positive.

When she wanted to get off the stage, there were still cries of ”one more song” from the audience.

”Xiao Qian, that was fantastic!” Yu Tong came up to meet her as she walked off stage, draping her coat over her, ”The organizers were very pleased with the performance and said they want to give us an extra twenty thousand in fees!”

”Really, that’s great!” Luo Xiaoqian immediately hugged her excitedly, ”Yu Tong, I love you so much!”

The quality and standard of tonight’s commercial performance were pretty decent, a very good opportunity for a newcomer like her.

”It’s your own strength that did it, I’m just handling the networking!” Yu Tong gestured with her chin toward a middle-aged man who was chatting with a few singers in the distance, ”That there is the CEO; let’s go over and say hello!”

The two of them walked over, and Yu Tong introduced with a smile, ”Xiao Qian, this is CEO Shao!”

”Hello, CEO Shao!” Luo Xiaoqian extended her hand respectfully yet confidently.

”Hello!” CEO Shao said with a smile as he shook her hand, ”I couldn’t imagine that you young people would also like Zhang Yusheng’s songs. In my youth, I considered him my idol. The way you sang ’Empty Words’ was quite good. Miss Luo, I see a bright future for you. If you two don’t have other plans, why not stay and join the cocktail party?”
