After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 163: Chapter 163 Besides you, there is no one else [7]

At noon, she had also made plans with Jiao Yang to get the photos, which was, of course, no longer feasible.

However, Luo Xiaoqian dared not tell Leng Zimo the truth.

These men, why do they always like to ask women out for meals? Wouldn’t coffee suffice?!

Complaining in her heart, Luo Xiaoqian felt powerless to protest.

Right now, the most important thing was to appease Leng Zimo first.

”What I mean is, with your job being so busy, there’s no need to go out to eat, right?” Luo Xiaoqian searched desperately for an excuse.

Leng Zimo glanced at her expression and his gaze swept over to her ears beginning to redden again, ”Then we can eat here, that works too!”

This man was too shrewd, scarily so, and she was really not good at lying.

”Actually...” Luo Xiaoqian pursed her lips, and in the end decided to tell the truth, ”I have something at noon, I really didn’t mean it... It was arranged before you called... If you had asked me first, I definitely would have canceled the other plan!”

Fearing that he would be angry, she hurriedly explained.

This little girl, she seemed really afraid of him?!

Watching her anxious demeanor, Leng Zimo frowned slightly.

”Did I scare you yesterday?”

”A little,” Luo Xiaoqian said quietly, with her face downcast.

Overhead, a weight seemed to press down.

His large hand had already landed, patting her head like an elder, ”I’ll be more careful in the future!”

”Ah?” Luo Xiaoqian looked up in surprise.

What did his words mean, that he would be more careful in how he treated her?!

Seeing the cute little expression on her face, Leng Zimo smiled again.

”Let’s go!”

Was this some kind of mistake?!

After all she had said, he still insisted.

”But I really do have something to attend to, how about we have dinner together tonight?” she tried to keep control of the little flame that was about to burst forth in her chest.

”Silly!” Leng Zimo withdrew his hand from above her head, ”I meant, I’ll drive you there!”

”That’s even more out of the question...” Luo Xiaoqian wished she could bite off her tongue, ”I mean, there’s no need, I’ll take the subway myself, no, I mean, I’ll just take a taxi!”

He lifted her chin, forcing her to look up at him, ”You’re not going to meet some man, are you?”

Was this man a demon?!

Luo Xiaoqian kept shaking her head, ”No, no, absolutely not!”

She wasn’t lying, her meeting with Jiao Yang definitely didn’t count as a date, at most it was just getting a meal together.

Seeing how incredibly nervous she was, Leng Zimo gently released her chin, ”After you’re done, rest well, I’ll come get you in the evening!”

He didn’t insist any further, and finally, Luo Xiaoqian breathed a sigh of relief, ”Okay, then I’m leaving!”

She turned, taking her bag from the sofa and picking up the parcel, then walked to the door before suddenly stopping.

”Um... Leng... I mean... Zimo, thank you for the dress!”

Leng Zimo, who had already sat down at his desk, looked up at her when he heard her speak, ”You knew it was from me?”

”I checked the delivery note!” She stuck out her tongue at him and pulled a face, then looking down at the dress in her hands, she added, ”Besides, who else could it be but you!”

That statement was a complete and utter truth.

Yesterday, she had been too busy with the competition to really think about it, but later when she called the courier company for information, she had basically guessed it was him.

A gift as expensive as this could have only come from him; indeed, there was no other person who would give her such a thing.

Sensing the hint of desolation in her tone, Leng Zimo’s heart suddenly tightened.
