After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 173: Chapter 174: Washing Hands [6]

”Thanks...” She instinctively began to thank him with a smile, but, catching herself halfway, thinking of what he had just said, she swallowed the remaining word and hurriedly added, ”Let’s eat, or it’ll get cold!”

After the meal, she immediately stood up to clear the table.

Seeing her move to the sink to wash up, Leng Zimo promptly stopped her, ”Just have the cleaning service come over tomorrow!”

”It’s just two bowls, there’s no need to have someone else come over!” She swiftly turned on the tap, poured some detergent, and quickly washed the dishes clean before placing them in the rack.

Leng Zimo was quite pleased by her use of the term ”someone else.” Sitting at the edge of the table, he watched her bustle about in the kitchen and eventually come to the sink to wash her hands. He stood up, walked over, pressed the soap dispenser for her, and then extended his right hand to help her wash.

Feeling his chest pressed against her back, Luo Xiaoqian’s face grew hot.

”No... there’s no need, I can do it myself!”

Leng Zimo paid no mind and continued rubbing her hands with his.

The soap began to lather, covering both their hands with foam. His fingers cleaned between hers, the touch of skin created a friction that turned a simple act of handwashing into something charged with intimacy.

Her heart began to race, almost imperceptibly at first.

Conscious of her strange reaction, Luo Xiaoqian pulled her fingers from between his, turned on the tap again, and let the water wash away the foam from their palms, spiraling down the drain.

She turned to leave, only to find that his other arm had somehow encircled her waist without her noticing.

Burying his face in her hair, Leng Zimo inhaled the faint scent of her hair and planted a kiss by her ear.

”Xiao Qian!”

His voice was slightly hoarse.

”Hmm!”

She responded with a soft hmm, then noticed her own throat felt a bit dry.

It must be because tonight’s dumplings were too salty, Luo Xiaoqian thought.

”I’m going to get some water!”

She wriggled out of his embrace, grabbed the juice that was left on the table, and took a big gulp.

Before she could put down the glass, a hand reached out and took it from her. She looked up to see Leng Zimo right in front of her, his dark eyes gazing at her so deeply, and within the black pupils, there was a flame that could burn her.

She stepped back, only to find her back against the refrigerator.

Leng Zimo tilted his head back to drain the juice from the glass, casually put the glass aside, and in one step, was in front of her again. Then, he bent down slightly, bringing his face closer to hers.

”That... I have something...”

”Speak!”

”I bought a picture frame, it has a photo of Dad and me in it, can I put it by the bed?”

”No!” Seeing she was about to speak again, he cut in first, ”You can put it in the living room, or anywhere else you like, but not the bedroom!”

The bedroom was a place that belonged only to him and her. Aside from themselves, he didn’t allow anyone else to enter, not even a picture of her father.

His face was now so close to hers, she could even feel his warm breath skimming across her cheek, tickling and tingling like a feather.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Her heart pounded more urgently as if it were about to burst.

Realizing what was to happen next, she started to speak again, ”I haven’t washed...”

The word ”bath” got blocked by his lips pressing against hers.

Leng Zimo’s rare tenderness was as though savoring the world’s unique delicacy, though he was dying to devour it, he feared that eating too quickly would rob him of savoring that special taste.
