After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 165: Chapter 165 Chocolate [9]

Under my palm, her forehead was smooth and slightly cool.

No fever, good!

Leng Zimo’s lifted heart finally settled back down.

”Come home with me!”

Withdrawing his palm, he strode towards his car, took two steps, then turned back, taking the large box containing the gown from her hands.

Luo Xiaoqian’s face was streaked with black lines.

Could this man be any more capricious, telling her to go and then asking her to come home with him?

Watching as he put the box into the trunk of the car, she pursed her lips helplessly and jogged after him.

”Um...”

”Get in the car!” Leng Zimo said, opening the door for her.

Her gaze fell on his face, noticing the bloodshot eyes, Luo Xiaoqian swallowed back her retort and bent down to get into the car.

Alright, today, no matter what he wanted, she would comply.

The photo of Dad, if not today, could she ask for it from Jiao Yang another day?

After securing her seatbelt, Leng Zimo closed the car door, settled into the driver’s seat, and immediately started the car towards World City.

EM was not too far from World City, and soon, they arrived at the building, took the elevator up, and Leng Zimo took the initiative to open the door.

”No need to take off your shoes, just go get your antibiotic!”

He instructed before heading straight into the kitchen.

Antibiotic?!

Just as Luo Xiaoqian stood up to take off her slippers, she straightened up, watching his back as he headed to the kitchen, ”You... you brought me back to take medicine?”

Leng Zimo walked straight into the kitchen without turning back, tossing over two words.

”Obviously!”

If it wasn’t to take medicine, then why was he in such a hurry to bring her home?

Seeing him enter the kitchen, Luo Xiaoqian felt a surge of joy and hurried upstairs, only to search in vain for any sign of the medicine bottle.

Where did she put it last night?!

Luo Xiaoqian walked down with a furrowed brow, and seeing Leng Zimo standing in the living room with a glass of water, she scratched her head sheepishly.

”I... I didn’t find it!”

Leng Zimo frowned at her.

”Think!”

Okay, she would think!

Shen Yizhou had given her the medicine yesterday, and she stuffed it in her coat pocket on a whim. Later, when he brought her home, she...

Right, it must be in the coat!

Rushing to the foyer, she grabbed the coat she had carelessly tossed aside last night and reached into the pocket to indeed find a small medicine bottle.

”Found it, it’s really here!”

Turning around, she proudly waved the medicine bottle at Leng Zimo.

Watching her childlike triumph, Leng Zimo couldn’t bring himself to lose his temper.

He stepped forward, took the medicine bottle from her hand, opened the lid, poured a pill onto the cap, and brought it right up to her.

”Swallow it!”

She obediently swallowed the pill, took a sip of water from his hand to wash it down, then opened her mouth and waggled her tongue at him to show she had swallowed it. When she was little, she used to dislike taking medicine, and her dad would always check like this after giving her a dose.

No sooner had she retracted her tongue than Leng Zimo stuffed something into her mouth. The sweet taste melted between her teeth—it was chocolate.

With the chocolate in her mouth, she couldn’t speak, but her wide eyes were full of surprise.

Back then, her dad did the same—every time she opened her mouth for inspection, he’d pretend to pinch her cheeks and slip a piece of chocolate into her mouth.

”Let’s go!” Leng Zimo opened the front door.

”That... I...” she mumbled.

”I’ll only take you nearby, then I’m heading back to the office!” he cut her off, ”Don’t talk while eating!”
