After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Press Conference 10

Everyone took their seats except for two empty chairs in the middle, the one directly in the center had Leng Zimo’s nameplate on it, but the seat beside him didn’t even have a nameplate.

The rest of the seats were occupied by staff members including Ailin on one side and competitors like Xu Xia on the other.

Xu Xia and Shen Xinyi were arranged to sit together, the two of them exchanging unfriendly glances, though they did not show it in front of the reporters, every look they shared was full of sparks.

...

...

Top floor, office.

Sitting on the sofa, Luo Xiaoqian was already on pins and needles.

During the fitting, her watch was deemed unsuitable with the outfit, and the assistant had taken it off and placed it in her bag, during which she didn’t know how many times she had taken the watch out of the bag.

As the clock pointed to 9:55 AM, she finally couldn’t help but stand up.

With a light cough, she spoke in a soft voice, ”It’s 9:55 AM!”

Leng Zimo, as if he hadn’t heard her, kept his gaze on the document in front of him until he reached the last page. Only then did he pick up a pen to sign his name on the last page of the document, calmly organized the papers and pen, and stood up from his chair.

”Let’s go!”

...

...

Press conference room.

Glancing at her watch, Ailin stood up, looked around, and gave a very soft cough.

Immediately, the room quieted down.

Nodding slightly to everyone, Ailin began with a smile, ”The press conference for the ’Huaxia Idol’ Beijing Competition Area’s re-competition results will now begin. If anyone has questions, please feel free to ask!”

A male reporter immediately stood up, ”May I ask Ms. Ailin, Mr. Leng had promised us an explanation on the spot, why hasn’t he appeared yet?”

”Yes, why hasn’t Mr. Leng shown up yet?”

...

Suddenly, many reporters echoed the sentiment.

Ailin raised her palm to signal everyone to be quiet, ”If I remember correctly, our president said yesterday that he would be here at ten o’clock. Knowing him as I do, our president is never one to break his word!”

All eyes followed hers to the clock on the table.

The clock showed 9:59 AM, the red second hand had just passed the 6 o’clock mark and was swiftly moving towards 12 o’clock.

The door was quietly pushed open.

Dressed in a silver-grey suit and a light beige tie, Leng Zimo strode in followed by Luo Xiaoqian wearing a beige dress with bright yellow trim.

The reporters immediately turned their attention towards the two, unreservedly pressing their camera shutters.

They made their way to the stage, where assistants pulled out chairs for them. Leng Zimo was the first to take the main seat, with Luo Xiaoqian sitting beside him.

Seeing her, Xu Xia waved excitedly in her direction, while Shen Xinyi’s complexion uncontrollably tensed.

This Leng Zimo, he’d actually brought Luo Xiaoqian with him, what was he planning to do?

Guilty conscience, she just couldn’t keep calm.

”Yesterday I said that I would give everyone an explanation!” Sitting upright in the chair, Leng Zimo surveyed the room, ”But before that, I must first say something to someone!”

Standing up from his chair, he turned to look at Luo Xiaoqian who also appeared somewhat nervous.

”Luo Xiaoqian, I’m sorry!”

The room erupted in a buzz.

The myth of the entertainment industry, ”Emperor Leng” Leng Zimo, was actually apologizing to a newcomer?
