After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 158: Chapter 158 His Palm Was Very Warm [2]

”Miss Luo Xiaoqian, now that Mr. Leng has apologized for yesterday’s misunderstanding, will you continue to participate in the competition?”

”This...”

Luo Xiaoqian was still in great shock, having not expected the question to suddenly turn towards her, and for a moment, she simply did not know how to respond.

”As a decision-maker of the company, I respect the right of every employee to make their own choices!” Leng Zimo smoothly took over, ”Considering Luo Xiaoqian’s physical condition, the board has decided to respect her choice. After a short rest, she will directly enter into the work of a signed singer, and begin recording her own new single!”

”Then, Luo Xiaoqian, can you reveal the name and genre of your new single?”

”May I ask, when will this new single be released to meet us?”

...

A series of questions immediately shifted to the new single.

Luo Xiaoqian had no idea how to answer these; she didn’t even know about the new single!

A hand stretched across the table and laid on her nervously clasped hands.

It was Leng Zimo’s hand, his hold warm and dry, exuding a reassuring strength.

Instinctively, she looked at him, but his gaze remained steady, calmly fixed on the people across the table.

”I’m afraid I can’t divulge that information at this moment, let’s keep the conversation on topic and focus on questions about the ’Huaxia Idol’ competition now!”

With just that one sentence, he took control of the entire press conference.

The reporters knew it was futile to probe further, and they immediately shifted the topic back to the competition, starting to ask questions of Xu Xia and other contestants.

After yesterday’s rematch, Xu Xia was ranked third, Luo Xiaoqian withdrew, and Shen Xinyi was caught; thus, Xu Xia naturally became first and moved directly into the national finals, naturally becoming the second focus of the room.

Besides Xu Xia, the reporters asked more about the upcoming finals and the arrangements for several districts. Leng Zimo answered smoothly every time, always able to offer the most direct answers with the simplest of words.

Luo Xiaoqian sat beside him, her hand held in his palm, her gaze unconsciously fixed on his profile.

The man in her eyes faced every tricky question with such common ease, looking every bit the Emperor.

His face was radiant under the light, yet his eyes clearly had red veins.

When he found her last night, it was already late, and he probably hadn’t slept all night, had he?

Thinking about how she had misunderstood him earlier, Luo Xiaoqian felt restless.

Fortunately, the press conference finally ended.

The reporters filed out, and Leng Zimo also rose from his chair, taking Ailin with him as they left the venue. Luo Xiaoqian was about to follow when Xu Xia, already excited, ran over and hugged her.

”Xiao Qian, I’m so happy. Shen Xinyi got what she deserved, oh, I’m sorry, I forgot about your hand...” She let go of Luo Xiaoqian in a panic, carefully cradling her injured hand, ”Your hand, is it okay? Will it affect your piano playing?”

”Yes, Xiao Qian, how is your hand? When we saw the president pulling out the razor from the piano yesterday, we were terrified!”

...

The other students also gathered around.

”It’s nothing serious!” Luo Xiaoqian looked at everyone’s earnest concern and felt a wave of gratitude, ”Thank you all for worrying. I went straight to the hospital yesterday, so I didn’t have a chance to inform you!”

Still unclear about what exactly had happened last night, Luo Xiaoqian left the meeting room with everyone, pulling Xu Xia aside to enquire.
