After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 194: Chapter 195: That’s a Wild Duck【4】

Leng Zimo glanced at his watch; fifteen minutes had passed. It was her first practice, so naturally, the intensity couldn’t be too high.

”Alright, take a break!”

Luo Xiaoqian jumped off the bike, gasping for breath.

At this moment, the sun had already risen. Being in the remote suburbs, near the mountains and by the water, the morning air seemed to carry a sweet flavor. She wandered to the lakeside and, looking at the beautiful scenery in the distance, Luo Xiaoqian stretched out her arms with contentment, taking a deep breath.

It had been a long time since she’d risen this early. When she was cycling, all she felt was exhaustion, but now that she had stopped, there was actually a comfortable feeling.

A water bottle was passed to her soundlessly, and she took it, about to gulp it down.

By her side, Leng Zimo’s voice had already sounded.

”Small sips. Let it sit in your mouth for five seconds, then swallow!”

Tyrant!

Even dictating how to drink water.

She grumbled internally, yet obediently took small sips and swallowed slowly.

By the time she put down the water bottle, Leng Zimo had already handed her a schedule, ”This is your training plan for the week!”

Luo Xiaoqian took the schedule and saw that it meticulously listed a timetable, with time restrictions for both fitness and voice training, and the daily times were all different.

If she initially thought he was tormenting her, she now understood that he was training her.

But last night, he should have slept with her. When had he prepared this? He couldn’t possibly have woken up at four or five in the morning to do it, could he?!

Looking at Leng Zimo from the side, Luo Xiaoqian felt increasingly perplexed.

This man was betting with her on one hand and helping her like this on the other. Did he actually want to win or lose?!

”I’m flying to Paris this afternoon.”

A business trip, fantastic!

Suppressing her excitement, Luo Xiaoqian asked, ”How many days will you be gone?”

”The company has a film nominated at the Cannes Film Festival; I need to go receive the award. I’ll then visit several other countries. It will probably take about a week,” Leng Zimo turned his face towards her, ”Remember to be good!”

”Don’t worry, I’ll definitely practice diligently according to your plan, getting up and going to bed on time. Apart from going to the supermarket to buy food, I won’t go anywhere else!” Luo Xiaoqian immediately assured him with a smile.

With him gone, it was truly a relief. Otherwise, if Yu Tong really managed to secure a commercial performance for her, she didn’t know what excuse she would have to concoct to deceive him.

If this guy found out she was performing behind his back, he would surely kill her!

Leng Zimo frowned and scrutinized her for a moment; her overly obedient behavior was utterly abnormal, and his intuition told him the girl had a problem.

”Are you hiding something from me?”

Could he be any more astute?!

He’d figured it out!

Luo Xiaoqian pointed towards the lake, ”Zimo, look quick, there are swans!”

Leng Zimo followed the direction of her finger, ”Those are mallards!”

Of course, she knew those were mallards; she was just deliberately changing the subject, alright?

”Mallards? I thought they were gray swans!” Luo Xiaoqian gently took hold of his arm, shifting her tactics and starting to act coquettishly, ”I’m so hungry. Can we go back, please? You should be heading to work soon. If we’re any later, you might get caught in traffic. Don’t you want to eat that pepper-fried egg? I bought free-range eggs!”

”Are you really okay?” Leng Zimo eyed her with furrowed brows.

In his eyes, there flickered a concern.

For a moment, Luo Xiaoqian was filled with guilt.

Yet, she truly didn’t have the courage to tell him. If he knew that she had covered Lu Hao’s mother’s medical expenses and planned to perform behind his back, she couldn’t imagine the storm of his anger.
