After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 190: Chapter 191 Are You Lacking Confidence in Me [11]

”Really?” Leng Zimo was also a little surprised. There weren’t many people that Xu Xiaoyang took a fancy to.

”Of course, you think I would lie to you? I had only heard that Teacher Xu was formidable and probably difficult to converse with. But I didn’t expect that when I met him today, he would actually be so easy to talk to. I was so nervous standing in front of the camera, and then he just chatted with me, and afterward, I relaxed... Oh right, I also did a set of photos without makeup, which I really didn’t expect. Who knew you could take promotional pictures with a bare face...”

Led by his question, Luo Xiaoqian naturally started recounting her experience during the photo shoot.

When she got to the part where she was almost blown away by the fan, she even gestured animatedly, reenacting the scene. She didn’t make him laugh, but she ended up laughing so hard in the elevator herself.

”Teacher Xu even snapped that picture, saying I looked like a flustered version of Marilyn Monroe, I laughed my head off...”

Unknowingly, her nervousness and restraint towards him had completely dissipated from her heart.

Leng Zimo just stood by, listening quietly.

In fact, he was not someone who usually enjoyed a lot of chatter, but today seemed to be an exception.

For the first time, Leng Zimo discovered that listening could also be a very interesting activity.

Even someone as intelligent as Leng Zimo did not realize, at that moment,

that Luo Xiaoqian, the girl who had accidentally entered his world, was imperceptibly changing his very self.

”What do you want to eat for dinner?”

It wasn’t until they stepped out of the elevator that he chimed in.

”Anything is fine!” Luo Xiaoqian suddenly remembered the vegetables she had bought by the lake yesterday, ”I bought so much farm-grown vegetables, I was thinking of having hotpot with you. By the time we get back, it’ll probably be too late to eat them!”

”Then let’s go back to the lakeside!” Leng Zimo opened the car door, ”First we’ll go back and grab a few sets of your clothes!”

Going back to the villa again? If he decided not to return, she’d have to squeeze onto a public bus again.

Although she had some minor complaints in mind, considering that Leng Zimo had already decided, Luo Xiaoqian didn’t say anything. After retrieving a few sets of clothes from World City, the two went back to the lakeside villa.

As Leng Zimo went upstairs, Luo Xiaoqian dashed into the kitchen to start preparing. Out of boredom the day before, she had already picked and washed the vegetables. By the time Leng Zimo came downstairs, changed into home clothes, she had already finished all the prep work, with the base ingredients already in the pot.

After dinner, Leng Zimo stood up.

”Come upstairs with me!”

”But I haven’t finished cleaning up yet!”

Luo Xiaoqian wanted to find an excuse to dawdle, but seeing his face go from sunny to cloudy, she quickly knew better and put down the cloth she was holding, wiped her hands, and followed him upstairs.

Leading her up to the piano room, Leng Zimo directly took out a stack of sheet music from his briefcase.

”The lyrics will probably be ready in about three days. For now, familiarize yourself with the melody first. I’ve made a few modifications, not too extensive,” Leng Zimo handed her the sheet music, ”This is the final version!”

Luo Xiaoqian knew he was referring to her single. Taking it in her hands, she hummed along with the music lightly, immediately recognizing it as one she had written, the same one that Leng Zimo had criticized for having somewhat childish lyrics.

”You mean the first single you’re talking about is this?” she said, astonished.

This was a song she had written years ago, when she was just fifteen or sixteen. He wanted her debut single to be this song—wasn’t that a bit too risky?

”Are you lacking confidence in me?” Leng Zimo retorted.
