Chapter 2207: Chapter 428: The Return (Part 2)

Perhaps sensing the inadvertent gaze from Crow No.3.

The Hoop-headed Ogre scratched its chin with dissatisfaction, its tone somewhat resentful: ”We only look like Ogres, we’re not real Ogres. Even if we’re left here, what danger is there? Do you really think we would eat them?”

These words seemed rather amusing to the other Ravens.

”Aren’t you planning to eat her?” The Witch didn’t disguise the sarcasm in her tone.

”Take her, take her, consider her a gift from us.” The Hoop-headed Ogre didn’t want to argue, he waved his hand as if expelling a pesky little insect flying around.

Just then.

A very oblivious small green bird hopped onto the Witch’s shoulder, chirping and asking: ”Can we proceed with the blood extraction according to the plan? And what about the Deer Complex and digging wood we prepared before...”

”Dig, dig, dig your mother dig!”

The Witch irritably grabbed the little green bird, squeezing it into a handful of sparks, and turned to shout into the woods: ”Are you all deaf? Do I have to personally summon each of you to work?”

Without looking at Gan Ning again, she flicked her black-feathered cloak, her whole figure resembling a big black Crow rising from the ground, heading directly towards Zhu Si who still hung in midair.

Dozens of Ravens hurriedly dropped from the surrounding treetops, cowering like quails, hugging their experimental instruments and spell-etched test tubes and glass bottles, they gathered around the Witch and started working busily as they did in the laboratory.

”Women indeed.”

The Hoop-headed Ogre shook its head slightly, speaking with a sense of wonder, and casually asked: ”Does your Raven clan always manage things without rules like this?”

Gan Ning glanced at it, his tone and gaze maintaining the previous coldness: ”You’re too kind... compared to you, we’re still far from it.”

He was mocking their act of demanding Zhu Si as loot at the last moment.

The Hoop-headed Ogre tilted its head back, chuckling with a gurgling sound, as if swallowing several thick phlegms. Gan Ning lowered his eyelids, masking the gloom in his eyes, and turned to look at his companions.

Not far away, Number Five Crow had already torn apart the intersecting green chains, carefully lowering Zhu Si, who was hanging in midair, onto the snowy ground.

The other Ravens were already prepared.

The skills Ravens honed in the laboratory were undoubtedly effective.

Before long, his companions reported that the blood collection was complete – and Number Five Crow, who was in charge of drawing the blood, didn’t even greet Gan Ning before leaving with some of the Ravens, escorting the blood away.

”Is there anything else?”

He frowned, looking at Number Fifteen Raven, who specially came to report, watching her faltering but reluctant demeanor, he was quite annoyed.

”You really should go and have a look.” Number Fifteen Raven seemed to completely forget the lab rules, bravely looking at him, twisting her hands under her cloak, muttering to herself: ”...Are we really leaving her here?”

Gan Ning bore with it, following behind Number Fifteen towards where Zhu Si was.

This time, the Ogres didn’t stop in place, but instead were led by the Hoop-headed Ogre, closely following the wizards, their hurried and rough breathing seemed to warm the cold air.

The blood extraction point was not far, about a hundred meters.

The fluffy snow had been stomped firmly by the comings and goings, only under Zhu Si remained a spot, like a small test bench made of White Jade.

The reason for this was that Zhu Si lay on a wide Persian Magic Carpet. And that Magic Carpet, was quietly floating at waist height, the slender fringes at the edges neatly smooth, like orderly tassels hanging down on both sides, making the carpet appear thicker.

When Gan Ning came to Zhu Si’s side, he immediately realized why Number Fifteen was so conflicted – the Witch on the carpet was no longer the tall and slender figure she once was, but had shrunk into a small bundle.

The great Zhu Si had become the lesser Zhu Si.

Crow No.3 suddenly turned, looking at Number Fifteen with fierce eyes, his voice somewhat suppressed: ”What’s the situation?!”

”I-I don’t know.”

Number Fifteen Raven’s voice trembled slightly, her answer quick but still clear, despite the low volume: ”We followed the procedure strictly as before, the extraction amount was as planned, but after drawing the blood she turned into this... No, Number Five said you should handle it.”

Having said the last few words, she seemed to regain her courage, quickly glancing at the towering figures of the Ogres in the rear, and repeated the former question while stating her stance: ”Are we really leaving her here? We... those who stay behind aren’t weak... just a big Ogre, can’t beat him but can still run...”

”Shut up!”

Gan Ning squeezed out two words through his teeth, interrupting Number Fifteen.

The Ogres behind them seemed to be unaware of the small dispute before them, but their increasingly long breaths and the slowly rising Magic Power within them silently warned this highest-ranking Raven.

”According to the agreement, we should be leaving.”

Crow No.3 retracted his gaze, mechanically answering, his eyes sweeping over several Ravens still lingering around, slightly raising his voice: ”...Do not interfere with the Professor’s experiment!”

The words ’Professor’ seemed to have some magical power, instantly waking everyone up. Even if unwilling, Number Fifteen could only dawdle behind the others as they left.

Gan Ning was the last Raven to leave.

Before leaving, his eyes swept once more over the Magic Carpet, the small Little Witch on the carpet was curled up, wrapped in a large robe and cloak, with only a pale, small face showing.

Whether it was due to excessive blood loss, her complexion, against the boundless snow, seemed almost transparent, highlighting the crimson mark on her forehead, her long eyelashes quivering slightly, unsure whether she was having a nightmare or feeling the chill outside.

The Warlock suddenly withdrew his gaze, spreading his cloak, disappearing instantly.

The Hoop-headed Ogre glanced at the departing Ravens, then lost interest, heading straight for the Magic Carpet, its hands raised in front of its chest, looking both fanatical and fearful.

”Did they really leave?” Behind it, another Two-headed Ogre seemed uneasy.

”No idea.”

The Hoop-headed Ogre spoke indifferently, but its hands were not careless, grabbing the small Little Witch curled up in a ball: ”Even if they have some idea, can they really outpace us...”

Before the words were finished.

A very pleasant voice suddenly shouted close to their ears: ”Where did you little demon brats come from, daring to stir trouble at the First University... Ha! It’s indeed your sneaky lot! Take this!!”

Bam!

Several enormous blue tails descended from the sky like heavy hammers, crashing heavily.
