High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2206: Chapter 427: Return Once More (Part 1)

”What do you mean.”

Even knowing that the figure across might be a great Ogre, the Number Five Crow behind couldn’t resist stepping forward, suppressing a nameless fury in her tone: ”You should know that she is our target!”

This time, Crow No.3—also known as the magical zoology instructor Gan Ning—did not stop his companion but instead looked sternly at the Hoop-headed Ogre, making his intention very clear.

Zhu Si cannot be handed over to them.

Unexpected for the two.

The Hoop-headed Ogre disregarded the witch’s offense and let out that unpleasant rumbling laugh once more: ”Of course, of course, she is your target...but she can also be our target. There’s no contradiction. As far as I know, you only need some of her blood, right? I can decide, and you can take as much as you need... As for the rest, it can be handed over to us as compensatory payment...not too much to ask, is it?”

”Her body can’t withstand our taking turns drawing blood.”

Number Five Crow suppressed her anger, biting her teeth as she explained: ”According to our calculations, after we collect, she will need sufficient time to recover...”

”Who said I wanted her blood?” The Hoop-headed Ogre looked surprised at the two crows, bent its big thumb back, and tapped its ghastly white fangs: ”Have you forgotten our identity?”

Behind it, two Ogres pulled out a large iron pot and spoon from somewhere, raised them above their heads, excitedly waving them, and making rumbling sounds like Ogres about to start a meal.

The Crows looked at the Ogres across with the expressions of someone looking at idiots.

As if they were a bunch of corpses.

”Do you know who her father is?” Gan Ning took a deep breath, trying to remind the other party, choosing a more respectful address to ensure he was heard.

”I have heard a little.”

The Hoop-headed Ogre scratched its chin casually—or maybe it was scratching another head growing on its chin—speaking in a somewhat indifferent tone: ”It seems to be a great being who just advanced to Legendary not long ago...truly an object of admiration among wizards. It’s enviable to death.”

The Crows could feel that its words were sincere.

This made them even more puzzled.

”Our previous plan did not intend any malice, using some of her blood would only make her weak for a time, might even help with her internal...faster integration...this can most effectively avoid the Legendary acting on a whim.” Gan Ning’s face paled, explaining ambiguously and swiftly, with even a hint of panic: ”But if you’re now harboring lethal intent...”

While speaking, he subconsciously looked up to the sky, as if the next moment a large overwhelming hand would break through the thick cloud, crushing them like insects.

Rum-ble-roar!

The Hoop-headed Ogre’s sticky laugh sounded again: ”You all can invite the Great Diviner to intervene in this Winter Hunting’s clues, why can’t we invite other honorable existences to disturb the world’s spiritual energy?”

The Crows fell silent together.

After a moment, Number Five Crow, voice hoarse, countered: ”You? Who did you contact?”

”Is that name something I can casually utter?”

The Hoop-headed Ogre spread its hands, answering in its slippery tone: ”As for us? As you can see, we’re merely ordinary hyenas, working odd jobs in Wandering Bar or elsewhere for a few jade coins or some progression resources, as competent hired hunters.”

’Hyena’ self-identification, Gan Ning believed.

This time, though unclear where Professor Montreya recruited these helpers, and provided them with laboratory’s latest experimental body transformed Righteous Bodies, he knew these guys absolutely belong to the darkest corners of the wizard world.

As for the other contents of that conversation, Gan Ning didn’t believe a word.

Ordinary carrion hyenas would definitely have no dealings with the high-flying Sky Dragons! And those ’Sky Dragons’ capable of blocking a Legendary Wizard’s gaze are rare even in the First University.

The real origin of these ’hyenas’ could only be the Dark Council or Land of Desolation, those few places still surviving under the Alliance’s assault, possibly even among certain dizzy fellows in the Moon Council or Wizard Council.

Why these Ogres dared to challenge the world’s disapproval, Gan Ning had some speculation. As a teacher at the First University, he participated in the Black Prison battle and heard Professor Montreya analyze various secrets behind the battlefield.

Just like this time, the Professor only wanted some blood from Zhu Si, but some people wanted to devour her—because Zhu Si’s current flesh is made from a whole Xuanhuang Fruit, with her Soul stabilized by a Philosopher’s Stone—only in the First University can Zhu Si live peacefully, otherwise, a gaze from the Starry Sky would drown her.

Number Five Crow stepped forward, seemingly wanting to say something more.

Gan Ning reached out to stop her.

”As you all wish.”

He stared at the Ogre opposite, his eyes devoid of any emotion: ”We’ll take only what we need...if you want to handle the subsequent trouble, you may do so.”

”Now that’s the Crows I know!”

The Hoop-headed Ogre laughed a rumbling laugh, waved its big hand: ”Relax, we’ll clean up the mess completely, won’t bring you any trouble...and as I previously promised, her blood, take as much as you want, even squeezing it dry is fine.”

Which means, these ’hyenas’ target is the Xuanhuang Fruit accepted by Zhu Si? Someone wants to become the new Legendary Wizard, or desires to reshape their flesh?

Gan Ning pondered silently in his heart.

Number Five Crow urgently said: ”That doesn’t conform to...”

”Silence!”

Gan Ning finally showed the authority of Crow No.3, fiercely glared at his companion: ”The task is the priority, don’t waste everyone’s effort...go lead the blood extraction...still follow our original plan.”

Number Five Crow took a deep look at him, her gaze sweeping past the five Fringe Hunting Team hunters collapsed in the snow.

”What about the other children?”

She lowered her eyelids, her tone very cold, without a subject pronoun, possibly asking Gan Ning or the greedy Hoop-headed Ogre opposite.

This time, Gan Ning didn’t give the Ogre a chance to speak.

”According to the plan, feed them the forgetting potion, erase their memories of this afternoon, then throw...” He glanced at several other Ogres not far away, corrected himself and added: ”...then take them away from here.”
