Berserk God of War

Chapter 543: Chapter 543: Don’t Push Too Hard

In the distant skies of Youye State City, Sikong Jing rode alongside Ning Jingjing...

Ning Jingjing softly asked, ”Sikong Jing, what are your plans next? Neither Ji Tan nor Cheng Yusu will sit idly by; they will undoubtedly do everything in their power to divide and control the Long Night Black Burning Army.”

Although the Long Night Black Burning Army seemed ready to die for Sikong Jing, loyal without second thoughts,

Sikong Jing was, after all, not the Beigong Xianfeng.

He had controlled the Long Night Black Burning Army for too short a time, while Cheng Yusu, who held the Commander Seal, could use techniques such as threatening the families of the soldiers to sow division and exert control!

By then, the situation would not be as it was now.

”No need to worry, everything is still within my control.” he replied.

”With Vice Marshal Cao Yi and the others around, it won’t be so easy for Cheng Yusu to take control of the Long Night Black Burning Army,”

Sikong Jing smiled as he spoke, not revealing his plans...

”Don’t worry, go back. I’m leaving first.” Sikong Jing said with a smile, then waved his hand and vanished in front of Ning Jingjing.

Ning Jingjing stood dumbfounded on her mount, muttering, ”Sikong Jing, what exactly are you planning?”

”He both wants to uphold the will of the Beigong Commander and maintain stability in the Youyuan Twelve States and the Long Night Empire without giving in temporarily. Even under such circumstances, he’s still plotting to kill Ji Tan to avenge the Beigong Commander...”

”It’s really hard on him, probably only he could manage that!”

At this, Ning Jingjing’s eyes flashed with a complex light, and for some unknown reason, she sighed deeply... Finally, she turned and returned to the Long Night Black Burning Army to continue playing her role as the general of the 66th Corps.

As Ning Jingjing returned to the Long Night Black Burning Army, the Court Divine Airship had already landed within Youye State City.

Cheng Yusu and Ji Tan entered the main hall of the city tower.

Just as they were seated, they looked coldly at Cao Yi and several other Vice Marshals of the Black Burning Army. The entire city tower hall seemed severe and was filled with anger. Finally, Ji Tan asked, ”Dark Wings, what exactly is his background and identity?”

All of Ji Tan’s plans had been ruined by Dark Wings.

Moreover, what was most terrifying was that Dark Wings knew it was through Mo Ci that he had killed Beigong Xianfeng. If Dark Wings met his father, he himself would face a fate worse than death, just like his brother Ji Ming!

So now, it was critical to find out Dark Wings’ background, as long as he was not alone, he could be pressured into death.

Cao Yi and the other Vice Marshals exchanged looks.

Finally, Cao Yi said, ”We don’t know; we have never seen the true face of Dark Wings. He seems to have appeared out of nowhere.”

Wen Jun continued, ”Or rather, he was suddenly brought out by the Beigong Commander; no one but the Commander knows who he is.”

The other Vice Marshals nodded, indicating that they did not know either.

”How dare you, do you wish to die?”

At this moment, Cheng Yusu’s men suddenly burst out and put their knives to the necks of Cao Yi and the others.

”Your Highness, we really don’t know,” the Vice Marshals shouted out, yet they still did not resist.

Ji Tan stared at them intently and then took a deep breath to ask, ”Then do you know how the Beigong Commander died?”

As he said this, the murderous intent in his eyes crazily intensified.

Ji Tan was eager to know how many people within the Long Night Black Burning Army were aware of his plot?

Hearing this, the Vice Marshals simultaneously replied, ”Wangyou Sect, apparently over the whereabouts of Sikong Jing of the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace.”

”And then?”

Ji Tan continued to ask, since Beigong Xianfeng had told Dark Wings, there was no reason not to tell his Vice Marshals.

However, all the Vice Marshals responded with, ”What next?”

They pretended not to understand, no matter how much they were questioned, they did not know what would happen next... Finally, Cheng Yusu slammed the table and said, ”It seems you don’t want to talk, huh? Do you really think we can’t pry open your mouths?”

Pausing, Cheng Yusu growled, ”Someone come, put them in shackles.”

He did not believe Cao Yi and the others; he was determined to pry open the Vice Marshals of the Black Burning Army’s mouths.

However, just at that moment, Cao Yi suddenly yelled loudly, ”The Long Night Black Burning Army, listen up, storm into Youye State City to save us; Cheng Yusu is planning to kill us.”

Upon hearing this, Cheng Yusu’s face changed, feeling completely screwed.

Meanwhile, outside the city, ninety-nine generals of the Long Night Black Burning Army had already begun to roar, ”Storm into Youye State City, eliminate Cheng Yusu!”

In an instant, a swirling Battle Aura bombarded into the tower, making Cheng Yusu’s face even uglier.

He quickly told the torturers, ”Stand down, all of you stand down!”

The next instant, Cao Yi sneered back, ”Cheng Yusu, if you want us to do something for you, you better be more gentle; otherwise, not only will the Long Night Black Burning Army annihilate you, but we could simply let the War Soul Dynasty storm in here, and you would be utterly disgraced.”

Upon hearing this, Cheng Yusu almost ground his teeth to bits.

If he had just taken office and the Youyuan Twelve States had been conquered, that would be more than utter disgrace; committing suicide would be an understatement.

And it would also ruin the Grand Prince’s plans.

At this moment, Cao Yi looked towards Ji Tan and continued, ”Grand Prince, we truly know nothing. Even if we knew something, we wouldn’t want to... We still have family in the Long Night Imperial City.”

”We don’t want to be involved in any turmoil, we hope the Grand Prince won’t push us too hard.”

”We are also Vice Marshals of the Black Burning Army, our Martial Arts are not weak; we are not something you can crush at will.”

In the cold laughter of Cao Yi, the Long Night Black Burning Army had already charged onto the city walls, surrounding the entire tower.

”One last time, we have not seen the true face of Dark Wings.”

Cao Yi finally spoke firmly, then moved back with the other Vice Marshals to the entrance of the tower’s grand hall, telling the ninety-nine generals, ”It’s alright, Commander Cheng was just toying with us.”

With that said, they all led the group down from the city walls.

From now on, the Vice Marshals will stay with the Long Night Black Burning Army.

Beigong Xianfeng had instructed them before his death to act as if they were unaware of Ji Tan’s ulterior motives; however, maintaining this pretense had become extremely difficult after Sikong Jing’s outburst, and Ji Tan was no fool.

So no matter what they said, Ji Tan would not believe them and even wanted to torture them.

Therefore, Cao Yi and the others could only resist, and Sikong Jing had also told them what to do when Ji Tan appeared.

Sikong Jing said that as long as they could hold on for a month, there would definitely be results.

So now they were staying with the Long Night Black Burning Army, trying to last the month.

”Hehehe...”

Inside the tower, Ji Ming gnashed his teeth audibly.

Feeling unbearably close to exploding, Dark Wings reminded himself; he knew that Beigong Xianfeng had been killed by him, and now Cao Yi and the others most likely knew as well; he was in a very dangerous situation.

Damn it, if Mo Ci was going to kill someone, why did he have to mention himself before doing so?

That was seriously damn screwing him over!

After sending all his subordinates away, Cheng Yusu turned to Ji Tan and asked, ”Grand Prince, what should we do now? Cao Yi and the others may not have seen Dark Wing’s real face, but they definitely know what you want to do.”

Ji Tan felt lost, now that he couldn’t control the Long Night Black Burning Army and couldn’t force Cao Yi and the others, what else could he do?
