Berserk God of War

Chapter 531: Chapter 531: Gaining Fame from a Single Battle

After speaking, Lu Lungan suddenly raised his voice, ”Beigong Xianfeng, what comes around goes around, your Commander is dead too.”

The sound thundered across the field, freezing the gazes of everyone atop Youye State City, shaking with anger.

Vice Commanders like Cao Yi had just witnessed Lu Lungan firing that cold arrow. Sikong Jing... could it be that he was shot dead just like that?

Everyone, could no longer find Sikong Jing.

However, in the next instant, Sikong Jing’s voice rang out, ”Lu Lungan, who said I’m dead!”

The voice soared to the skies.

Lu Lungan’s smug expression suddenly froze as he fiercely turned to look at the center of the battlefield, only to see Sikong Jing appearing amidst the chaos of soldiers, actually standing on a rapidly flying arrow, darting towards Youye State City.

And the arrow Sikong Jing was standing on, of course, was the very one shot by Lu Lungan.

”Ding...”

A crisp sound rang out as Lu Lungan’s arrow embedded itself halfway into the wall of Youye State City.

Sikong Jing stood firmly on the arrow, then with a light flick, he landed back on the walls of Youye State City. Then he held up high the head of the War Soul Harvest Commander, shouting loudly, ”Lu Lungan, thanks for the ride back to the city.”

”And your War Soul Harvest Commander’s head, I’ll take it. Your strongest War Soul Harvest Army has already collapsed.”

The voice rolled across the entire battlefield, making every soldier of the Long Night Empire Army tremble violently, eyes widening.

They all knew what kind of force the War Soul Harvest Army was, and now, this elite Commander had been beheaded by the Dark Wing Commander.

And the Dark Wing Camp had killed at least half of the War Soul Harvest Army!

Every Long Night Empire Soldier’s eyes flared with raging fire.

The morale, which had crumbled due to Beigong Xianfeng being captured by Mo Ci, had all returned!

”Dark Wing Camp, retreat!”

It was at that moment, Sikong Jing’s voice boomed out once more.

Instantly, led by Ning Jingjing, the Dark Wing Camp Soldiers received the order and quickly pulled back.

They mounted the War Soul Dynasty’s warhorses, including the living Black Steeds, and rushed back into the ranks of the Long Night Army, then without needing Sikong Jing’s command, they dismounted one after another, blending into the still-engaged Black Burning Army.

In an instant, they took off their masks and merged into the Black Burning Army, becoming soldiers of the 66th Army.

All this was completed in the blink of an eye, the Dark Wing Camp appeared, and just as swiftly disappeared like a phantom, unnoticed in the chaos of battle—only known to be... awesome!

The next moment, the entire battlefield had changed, the Long Night Black Burning Army’s blood boiled with fury—kill, kill, kill!

They were no longer the fish on the chopping board; they fiercely counterattacked.

On Youxue Plain, atop the walls of Netherworld State City, Lu Lungan’s body seemed to be exuding fire.

His arrow, not only did it not kill the masked Commander opposite him, but it also became the tool that brought him back to the city, now further turning the tide of battle, reigniting the battle intent and morale of the nearly collapsed Long Night Empire Army.

His advantageous situation, utterly ruined...

”War Soul lads, the Long Night Black Burning Army is still disorganized, charge and disperse them,” Lu Lungan stared intently at the disrupted ninety-nine legions on Youxue Plain, his voice roaring out in frenzy.

The battle continued, with cries of war shaking the heavens!

Back on the city wall, Sikong Jing, ever so calm, surveyed the battlefield, commanding firmly, ”Relay the Beigong Commander’s order, use the Long Night Dance Burning Army, first to the ninth legions to reassemble, staunchly defend the War Soul’s Beast Blood Soldiers...”

Just like that, Sikong Jing issued one command after another, and across from him, Lu Lungan did the same.

Lu Lungan was no longer as complacent as he had been at the start, but continuously commanded in response.

The two armies on Youxue Plain constantly changed formations and clashed, and now, naturally, it had become a battle of tactics between Sikong Jing and Lu Lungan.

And regardless of the outcome of the battle, the Dark Wing Commander naturally became famous in a single fight.

”Wen Jun, do you accept it now?”

Staring at Sikong Jing’s composed figure, the Beigong Xianfeng, exhausted, retracted his gaze from his seat and then turned to look at the hot-tempered Vice Commander Wen Jun beside him, a cold smile curling up at the corner of his mouth.

Wen Jun opened his mouth wide and nodded vigorously, ”I, your subordinate, accept it!”

Everything Sikong Jing had just done was simply brilliant. After several changes in formation, he managed to position the Dark Wing Camp Soldiers close to the enemy’s War Soul Harvest Army, and then launched a surprise attack.

More importantly, he truly turned the tide of the battle.

At first, I doubted he could ever turn it around, let alone slay the War Soul Harvest Army.

In the end, I was utterly face-slapped.

Wen Jun was just hot-tempered, and although distrustful of the Dark Wing Commander, he was utterly loyal to Beigong Xianfeng.

To be convinced was to be entirely persuaded.

”Good that you’re convinced. Now, I can finally sleep in peace,” Beigong Xianfeng then looked towards Sikong Jing, who was still focused on commanding the battle, and whispered faintly.

”Commander, you, you mustn’t!” Wen Jun’s whole body shook violently as he called out with a trembling voice upon hearing this.

Beigong Xianfeng looked at him irritably and said, ”What’s the fuss about? I’m not dying yet, at least not now... I am not dying!”

Having said that, he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

If previously Beigong Xianfeng’s trust in Sikong Jing was simply confidence coupled with great risk, now it was solid faith. At least with Sikong Jing present, he didn’t have to worry about being easily overrun by the War Soul Dynasty.

Sikong Jing’s understanding of soldier formations and the battlefield was in no way inferior to his own, so naturally, he could now sleep.

He was truly utterly exhausted...

”Commander, Commander...”

Cao Yi and others rushed back upon seeing this, calling out loudly several times.

But Beigong Xianfeng gave no response, still, it was fortunate that he had a faint breath.

Not daring to delay, Cao Yi quickly carried Beigong Xianfeng into the tower, and doctors summoned from within the city tried all sorts of treatments.

Time trickled by, the battlefield fraught with back and forth, unpredictable changes.

A few Vice Commanders watched, sweating bullets, finding Lu Lungan on the opposite side terrifyingly formidable. If it were them, they feared they might have lost this matchup countless times by now.

Glancing towards Sikong Jing... just as terrifying!

He was handling everything with ease, not giving Lu Lungan any chance. The Long Night Empire Army also became thoroughly orderly, and for every command he issued, he prefixed it with ”On the order of Beigong Commander.”

Clearly, it was his own arrangement, of course, this phrase was also a tactic to stabilize the morale.

Suddenly, the evening glow filled the sky.

”Dong dong dong...”

This battle had lasted several hours, and finally, the War Soul Dynasty side sounded the retreat. If they couldn’t take the position, they had to withdraw, for at night, too many unpredictable factors could arise.

In fact, the first day of war is generally probing in nature, but it escalated due to Beigong Xianfeng’s sudden capture, leading to the frenzied all-out attack by the War Soul Dynasty Army.

And now, through Sikong Jing’s efforts, it had returned to normal.

As the defenders, the Long Night Empire Army naturally also withdrew under Sikong Jing’s command.

Sikong Jing himself did not want to fight at night; resting his troops was of utmost importance.

After the Long Night Empire Army pitched camp, Sikong Jing turned and walked back from the city wall into the tower. Outside Beigong Xianfeng’s room, he smelled the strong scent of medicine, and his mood suddenly grew heavy again.

Sikong Jing slowly walked in and saw Beigong Xianfeng lying on the bed, his face even more gaunt than before.
