Berserk God of War

Chapter 542: Chapter 542: Find Dark Wings, Subdue Dark Wings

At the same time, under the cover of a barrage of arrows...

Sikong Jing leaped onto the approaching Dark Wing Young Sculpture and returned in flight to the front of the Long Night Black Burning Flying Cavalry.

He coldly watched Ji Tan on the Divine Spaceship.

After a long while, Sikong Jing said, ”Ji Tan, I, the Dark Wing, do not dare to take the blame for assassination, and you have acted rashly.”

Upon hearing this, Ji Tan, with a sword still embedded in his shoulder, trembled violently and glared at Sikong Jing, spitting out fiercely, ”The Dark Wings want to rebel, and now all of the Long Night Black Burning Army want to rebel too?”

He furiously stamped them with another crime, then shouted again, ”Rebellion is punishable by the extermination of your entire family.”

At this moment, he was terrified; he feared that the Long Night Black Burning Army would tear him to pieces. His first attempt to quickly kill the Dark Wing had failed, as the Flying Cavalry of the Dark Wing were already prepared. Now...Ji Tan had no choice but to use the threat of their families to keep the entire army in line.

Extermination of the entire family was a fear for everyone.

But Sikong Jing coldly responded, ”Ji Tan, you are good at framing others... If the Long Night Black Burning Army really wanted to rebel, we would be on our way back to the Long Night Imperial City by now, not waiting for you in the Youyuan Twelve States.”

”No matter what persecution he faces, the Beigong Commander would never rebel, and his Long Night Black Burning Army even less so.”

”You ask why, after the Beigong Commander has been harmed, the Long Night Black Burning Army still remains here, fighting and standing firm, unflinching, because this was the will of the Beigong Commander before his death...”

Sikong Jing’s voice spread throughout the Long Night Empire Army, instantly reddening the eyes of everyone.

”Accusing the Long Night Black Burning Army of rebellion is to smear the reputation of the Beigong Commander. What gives you, Ji Tan, the right to tarnish his name?” Sikong Jing roared again, and the Long Night Black Burning Army took a fierce step forward, their Battle Aura surging.

However, Sikong Jing stretched out his hand, holding back the rampant momentum of the Long Night Black Burning Army for the moment.

”Ji Tan, put away your schemes and tricks, this is a battlefield, not a court.”

”Such so-called schemes, in the eyes of my Long Night Black Burning Army, are nothing more than a sword swiftly cut through the air. Extermination of the family? If you dare say another word, the Long Night Black Burning Army dares to march towards the Long Night Imperial City. Do you believe it?”

As his words fell, Ji Tan trembled all over.

If the Long Night Black Burning Army truly left the Youyuan Twelve States and advanced towards the Long Night Imperial City, he would undoubtedly die.

Because it was he who drove them to rebel!

Even if they did not attack the Long Night Imperial City in the end, the Long Night Emperor would surely execute him to quell the anger of the troops!

In an atmosphere heavy with terror, Sikong Jing stared at the pale-faced Ji Tan.

”Ji Tan, I do not want to violate the will of the Beigong Commander and cause turmoil for the Long Night Empire.”

”I will use a way that no one can criticize to make you... die without a burial place!”

If he now ordered the Long Night Black Burning Army to attack the Divine Spaceship.

If either Cheng Yusu or Ji Tan escaped, it would inevitably lead to accusations of rebellion and unrest.

Sikong Jing did not care, but Beigong Xianfeng... greatly did; he would not allow his Long Night Black Burning Army to bear such an accusation, and more importantly, the lives of Beigong Xianfeng’s family would also be in danger.

Sikong Jing could not do this; he had to do it legitimately, letting the Long Night Emperor execute Ji Tan.

”Ji Tan, you wanted the Commander Seal, I gave it to you.”

”But after I gave you the Commander Seal, you still wanted to kill me under a pretext and pin the crime of assassination and rebellion on me. You just want to completely control the Long Night Black Burning Army, don’t you?”

”Hahahaha... I will not carry this blame.”

”From this moment on, I temporarily leave the Long Night Black Burning Army, and I will issue one final command... Long Night Black Burning Army and all the warriors of the Youyuan Twelve States, hold Youye State City until I return.”

”Also, do not dare to attack Netherworld State City.”

”Finally, if Cheng Yusu dares to boss you around, just... kill him for me!”

”Now everyone heed my order, follow me back to Youye State City.”

As Sikong Jing issued his command, the Long Night Black Burning Army and the ordinary soldiers turned around without hesitation and galloped back towards Youye State City. During this time, Lu Lungan even ordered the War Soul Dynasty Army to clear a path for them.

And so, Ji Tan and Cheng Yusu could only watch as clouds of dust rolled away, vanishing before their eyes.

Each of them quivering all over, they exchanged glances.

After a good while, Ji Tan and Cheng Yusu’s gaze fell upon Cao Yi and the others.

Covering his wounded shoulder, Ji Tan growled lowly, ”Take these men down for me.”

Cao Yi and the vice commanders looked at each other and, in the end, offered no resistance, allowing Ji Tan to capture them.

After seizing Cao Yi and the other vice commanders, the Court Divine Airship swiftly left the boundaries of Netherworld State City.

...

Atop the city tower of Netherworld State City, Lu Lungan and the others exchanged glances.

Then, he burst out laughing, ”Hahaha, hahahaha...”

Lu Lungan’s laughter simply couldn’t be stopped, he was so amused he almost cried.

”The Long Night Empire is truly a fucking joke, that little Dark Wing so terrifying, yet actually driven away alive.”

”To appoint Cheng Yusu as the commander, now he can only act as a puppet.”

”My luck, Lu Lungan’s, is too damn good; I thought I would become a criminal of the War Soul Dynasty, but now I see light at the end of the tunnel.”

Lu Lungan had been ready to flee, prepared to be conquered today.

But as it turned out, the Long Night Empire had become a laughingstock, giving him a breather...

No, no, no, it presented him with an opportunity to counterattack.

The vice commanders and strategists were so excited they almost fainted; if they had lost that badly, they would have either died or been skinned alive upon returning.

Bear in mind, it wasn’t the Beigong Xianfeng they were dealing with, but a Dark Wing brat they’d never even heard of before.

If they were defeated, the entire War Soul Dynasty could drown them with spit, alive.

At this moment, one of the vice commanders suddenly stopped laughing and said, ”Commander Lu, I think we should immediately find this Dark Wing brat and enlist him into the War Soul Dynasty Army; such a battlefield genius is a rare find.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Lungan also stopped laughing, his eyes shining brightly.

The next instant, Lu Lungan barked, ”Issue my orders, all spies have but one task now, to find Dark Wing.”

His mind grew eager; if he could enlist Dark Wing into the War Soul Dynasty, the Youyuan Twelve States would fall easily into his hands, and even the Long Night Black Burning Army could be brought under the Dynasty’s banner.

Even further afield, they might push directly to the Long Night Imperial City; as of now, Dark Wing was more important than anything to them.

But after leaving the Long Night Black Burning Army, what would Dark Wing do?

He certainly wouldn’t want to give up the chance to become the true commander of the Long Night Black Burning Army, so he would surely find a way back to the Long Night Imperial City and earn the Long Night Emperor’s trust.

Therefore, the essential pathways to the Imperial City would become paramount.

...

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing was oblivious to Lu Lungan’s thoughts.

He led the Long Night Black Burning Army and the regular troops back to Youye State City and issued another order for them to station there. Then, he addressed the army, ”Remember, you must hold Youye State City steadfastly; I will definitely return.”

”When I come back, it will be the day we break through effortlessly, and the day you will achieve great feats.”

Upon hearing his words, every member of the Long Night Black Burning Army fixed their gaze on Sikong Jing.

One by one, the generals kneeled on one knee and declared, ”We swear to await the return of our Dark Wing Commander unto death.”

”We swear to await the return of our Dark Wing Commander unto death!”

The collective voice roared to the heavens as they eventually watched Sikong Jing, riding the Dark Winged Dragon Eagle, disappear from their sight.
