Berserk God of War

Chapter 535: Chapter 535: The Long Night Commander, Someone Else

Meanwhile, in Netherworld State City within the War Soul Dynasty.

Lu Lungan and his vice commanders and strategists were analyzing today’s battle, continuously arranging array diagrams.

Suddenly, Lu Lungan slammed a military chess piece heavily onto the table, his voice cold as he said, ”We can be certain, today’s battle formation and tactics definitely did not come from Beigong Xianfeng.”

”The Long Night Commander, there’s someone else.”

Everyone nodded heavily; they had battled with Beigong Xianfeng more than once, and today’s troop deployment was definitely not his doing.

”It’s clear, Beigong Xianfeng is severely injured, already close to his end.”

Lu Lungan sneered at all his subordinates, growling, ”But the Long Night Empire Army still pretends it is him issuing orders. Tomorrow when we go to battle, we must find the perfect moment to expose them.”

”We need to reveal that Beigong Xianfeng is dead, and make the Long Night Empire Army collapse on the battlefield!”

Speaking this, Lu Lungan’s eyes filled with glee, anticipating the drama in tomorrow’s battle.

Lu Lungan would also achieve the glory of causing the frantic collapse of millions in the Long Night Empire Army; the thought was utterly exhilarating.

The vice commanders and strategists all wore smiles, tomorrow’s battle would replay the initial moments of today’s battle, the Long Night Empire Army being completely routed—the thought was explosively thrilling!

”Report...”

However, at this moment, a guard rushed into the city tower, reporting, ”Commander Lu, urgent news from Youye State City, Beigong Xianfeng is dead, Cao Yi and other vice commanders have made it public...”

Upon hearing this, Lu Lungan, whose face was brimming with triumph, froze, exclaiming, ”Damn it, Cao Yi made it public?”

Damn it, we were just about to expose tomorrow that Beigong Xianfeng was almost dead, and you guys go public with it.

What the hell? How are we supposed to play this now?

You announce Beigong Xianfeng’s death, and you’re going to slap me in the face? Just like that, my glory in a furious roar is gone?

Then, the reporter replied, ”Yes, Commander Lu.”

”The entire Long Night Empire Army has received the news of Beigong Xianfeng’s death, and at the same time, Cao Yi has also announced the last orders of Beigong Xianfeng, appointing the Dark Wing Commander as the acting commander.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Lungan and others’ faces twitched wildly, cursing internally!

Lu Lungan almost died from anger.

In the end, he waved his hand to dismiss the reporter, pacing back and forth, muttering, ”What was Beigong Xianfeng thinking before he died? How dare he release the news of his death, wasn’t he afraid that the Long Night Empire Army would lose their battle spirit?”

The generals looked at each other, puzzled.

At that moment, one of the strategists said softly, ”Perhaps today’s troop deployment was all orchestrated by that Dark Wing Commander, and Beigong Xianfeng completely trusted him, which is why he dared to make it public.”

Seeing Lu Lungan’s gaze turn his way, he continued softly, ”That is to say, Beigong Xianfeng fully believed that this Dark Wing Commander was competent enough to go head-to-head with you, Commander Lu...”

Upon hearing this, Lu Lungan’s face darkened, his lips twitching constantly.

”That old fool Beigong Xianfeng, even in death, he is so presumptuous.”

”Is he looking down on me?”

”What is this Dark Wing Commander, just some tricky gambits? Tomorrow I will make him suffer a crushing defeat.”

As Lu Lungan ranted slightly crazily, the vice commanders and strategists also had venomous looks in their eyes. They were determined to obliterate the Long Night Empire Army using Beigong Xianfeng’s death, leaving them no chance to catch their breath.

...

Before dawn, the darkest moment...

At the lake dyed red with fresh blood in Youxue Plain, Sikong Jing slowly opened his eyes upon hearing footsteps.

”General Ning, is there something?”

Sikong Jing could instantly tell from the footsteps that it was Ning Jingjing coming to seek him.

”Commander Sikong, the vice commanders are all looking for you; they say a farewell ceremony for Beigong Commander will be held, and then battle is to commence at sunrise.” Ning Jingjing stood behind Sikong Jing, her tone heavy as she spoke.

Sikong Jing nodded, ”Hmm, I understand.”

After speaking, Sikong Jing slowly turned around and strode toward Youye State City...

At that moment, Ning Jingjing followed up, ”Commander Sikong...”

”Just call me Sikong Jing. We’re not on the battlefield now, and I’m not used to hearing that,” Sikong Jing said with a smile.

He had brought Ning Jingjing from the Canglong Small Domain, and although he had now surpassed her in rank, Sikong Jing still preferred not to interact in a hierarchical manner; he and Ning Jingjing were friends.

In response, Ning Jingjing trembled slightly and nodded, ”Sikong Jing, may you find peace in this time of mourning.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing turned his head back and shook his head noncommittally.

”Vice Commander Cao told me, but this is not your fault, it’s Ji Tan’s doing.”

Ning Jingjing continued to comfort, but her nature wasn’t particularly consoling, and her tone was somewhat awkward.

She had been very upset when she received the news of the Beigong Xianfeng’s death, and since Sikong Jing was alone on the Youxue Plain, she thought he was not only saddened but also feeling guilty.

After all, it was because of him that the Beigong Commander had died!

However, Sikong Jing just laughed and said indifferently, ”I’m fine, everything is under my control.”

Upon hearing this, Ning Jingjing blinked. What did he mean by ”under my control”?

But Sikong Jing didn’t explain, and he wasn’t going to let anyone know about the fake death of Beigong Xianfeng just yet. Although Ning Jingjing was absolutely trustworthy, the fewer people who knew, the lesser the risk.

Suddenly, Ning Jingjing noticed that the aura around Sikong Jing was somewhat terrifying and couldn’t help asking, ”Sikong Jing, have you made another breakthrough?”

”Yes, Sixth Level Taoist Captain Realm.”

Sikong Jing answered casually, and then flashed towards the direction of the city wall, leaving Ning Jingjing standing there, dazed... She had expected to be surpassed by Sikong Jing, to be left far behind.

But she hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly; she couldn’t catch up even if she galloped after him.

”Sixth Level Taoist Captain Realm, what rank would Sikong Jing now hold on the East Plain Thousand Dominator List?”

Ning Jingjing muttered to herself, visualizing the top hundred numbers, then shook her head and stopped thinking about it, quickly following after him.

In Youye State City, a farewell ceremony for Beigong Xianfeng officially began.

Millions of the army knelt down at the scene, while Beigong Xianfeng already lay inside a coffin, peacefully closing his eyes.

No one noticed that his heart would beat once every two hours.

As the sunlight spread across the land, the farewell ceremony ended, and Beigong Xianfeng’s coffin was set to be placed in the city tower until the Long Night Empire sent people to transport it back to Long Night Imperial City, and now...

Boom, boom, boom!

The battle drums shook the heavens, and the next day’s great battle was about to arrive.

Wearing the Dark Wing Mask, Sikong Jing stood on the wall of Youye State City with Vice Commander Cao and others, continuously deploying troops!

”Aoo...”

From the direction of the War Soul Dynasty, a huge flying beast approached, with Lu Lungan standing on it.

His gaze sternly fixed on Sikong Jing, after pulling a cold smile that passed Sikong Jing, he said, ”Cao Yi, I heard that Beigong Xianfeng is dead, I came to offer my gift...”

With that, Lu Lungan flicked a Light Crystal downwards, chuckled mischievously and said, ”The death of Beigong Xianfeng, worth one Light Crystal.”

After speaking, he left with loud laughter.

He didn’t even glance directly at Sikong Jing once.

He was deliberately humiliating Sikong Jing, deliberately ignoring Sikong Jing, deliberately provoking the anger in Sikong Jing’s heart.

Before the battle, it’s fatal for a commander to be mentally shaken.
