Berserk God of War

Chapter 536: Chapter 536: Enemy at the Gates, Lu Lungan Coughs Up Blood

”You damned fool, Lu Lungan, you motherfucker...”

Wen Jun, always hot-tempered, couldn’t hold back and was the first to explode.

But before he could finish his sentence, Sikong Jing laughed and said, ”Vice Commander Wen, why must you be so angry? For a failing subordinate about to flee in disarray, we need only watch the farce.”

At these words, Lu Lungan, who hadn’t walked far, abruptly turned back, staring daggers at Sikong Jing.

”You Dark Wings brat, within three days, I’ll have my forces at the gates of your Youye State City.”

Holding up three fingers, Lu Lungan spoke coldly, then disappeared before Sikong Jing and the others, following the giant flying demon beast.

Watching him leave, Sikong Jing smiled faintly.

Suddenly, he turned to Cao Yi and the others behind him with a smile and said, ”Do you think Lu Lungan is very arrogant?”

The crowd nodded vigorously, of course, he was arrogant.

However, Sikong Jing snorted with scorn and said, ”I apologize, for I am even more arrogant. Today, I will have my forces at the walls of Netherworld City.”

As soon as these words were uttered, the Vice Commanders stared at him in astonishment. How could this be possible?

Sikong Jing was not just being arrogant, but wildly so, completely unrealistic!

Soon after, the sounds of battle cries rose... and the two sides began their war.

It was still a face-off of various troop formations and strategies, with Sikong Jing’s soldier formation constantly shifting, aiming straight for the enemy’s critical points.

Meanwhile, Lu Lungan responded with composure.

But gradually, he frowned deeply and said, ”This is the same tactic as yesterday, but with some differences. The Long Night Empire Army didn’t collapse despite Beigong Xianfeng’s death. On the contrary, their morale is even stronger.”

After fighting for two hours, Lu Lungan, who had intended to crush the Long Night Empire Army by exploiting Beigong Xianfeng’s death, was growing impatient and also noticed the momentum of the Long Night Empire Army.

He was very displeased, this was beyond his control.

”Commander Lu, this is the Power of Anger, but with one point of collapse, it will be completely lost,”

said an adviser, speaking indifferently.

Lu Lungan immediately felt there was much sense in these words and sneered repeatedly, ”Then let’s suppress them fully, letting their collapse spread...”

With that, Lu Lungan suddenly ordered a charge formation.

In an instant, the momentum of the War Soul Dynasty Army became extremely fierce, aiming to shatter the Power of Anger of the Long Night Empire Army.

From atop Youye State City, Sikong Jing’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he said with a slight chuckle, ”Lu Lungan, you’ve fallen into my trap.”

Upon hearing this, Cao Yi and the others behind him were stupefied. What trap?

The next moment, Sikong Jing shouted, ”Long Night Black Burning Army, heed my command, transform into the Long Night Snake Burning Army, and charge with the force of the Snake Burning Formation!”

As his voice fell, the battlefield suddenly underwent a dramatic change.

Under the series of commands by Sikong Jing, the Long Night Snake Burning formation viciously tore through the opposing army’s terrifying assault.

Sikong Jing called out again, ”Kill, head for Netherworld City. We shall lay siege to the city today to honor the spirit of our late commander in heaven.”

”Kill...”

Following Sikong Jing’s words, the Long Night Empire Army’s battle cry surged like a slithering serpent, tearing through the War Soul Dynasty Army’s forces, managing to penetrate the core of the War Soul Dynasty Army and continuing to surge forward.

On the other side, seeing this scene, Lu Lungan’s eyes widened as he roared, ”Change formation, block them!”

Atop Youye State City, the corners of Sikong Jing’s mouth edged up, ”Lu Lungan’s so-called change of formation is nothing more than an attempt to cut through my Long Night Snake Burning formation, but since I have already laid a trap, how could my soldier formation be easily breached?”

In the span of those two hours, Sikong Jing had already set up his tactics, his formation sturdy and unbreakable.

”Snake Burning Formation, turn into the legs of a centipede.”

As Sikong Jing’s command was issued, the Snake Burning Formation sprouted numerous leg-like protrusions, instantly transforming from a snake into a centipede.

Cao Yi and others saw that the Snake Burning Formation continuously pushed out leg after leg, which was actually Black-armored Soldiers taking turns charging out from the formation, scattering the enemy’s Soldier Formation.

Even preventing the enemy from organizing an effective military formation.

At this moment, the Long Night Empire Army was like a gigantic centipede crawling across the Youxue Plain, advancing toward Netherworld State City.

”Vice Commanders, let us also head to Netherworld State City, I want to have a word with Lu Lungan.”

At this time, Sikong Jing no longer gave any orders, and calmly spoke to Cao Yi and the others.

The Vice Commanders were stunned, their minds still fixated on Sikong Jing’s words, wondering what kind of trap he had set on the battlefield, why Lu Lungan fell into the trap, and why none of us could see it?

There was no time for further questions, as Sikong Jing and the others mounted their steeds and shot out.

And when they merged with the Long Night Empire Army, the great army had already reached the walls of Netherworld State City. The War Soul Dynasty Army was still attacking fiercely all around, but they just couldn’t breach the Soldier Formation of the Long Night Empire.

Atop Netherworld State City, Lu Lungan and others’ faces were ashen, at a complete loss...

Damn it, how did they end up at our doorstep?

Their minds were a mess, they had just spoken of blasting the enemy with the Power of Anger, and then they could roll over the enemy unchallenged.

Yet in a blink of an eye, they were the ones overpowered. Why?

At this time, Sikong Jing had already descended among the Long Night Black Burning Army.

He got on his Black Steed, stepping forward with the accompaniment of the Vice Commanders and generals, and then stared intently at Lu Lungan on the city wall, ”Lu Lungan, sorry, but I’ve reached your Netherworld City in just one day.”

As these words came out, Lu Lungan’s complexion turned extremely ugly, almost spouting blood.

”So what? My soldiers surround you; it’s still hard to tell who the deer will fall to,” Lu Lungan said through clenched teeth.

Since the Snake Burning Formation was a direct line charge, Lu Lungan wasn’t panicked as few War Soul Dynasty Soldiers had been slain. He could reorganize and encircle the enemy... The Long Night Empire Army, however, should not even think about assaulting the city.

Sikong Jing smiled at this and said, ”You come to my Youye State City riding a gigantic Flying Demon Beast, but I can reach your Netherworld State City on a Black Steed... Next time, I hope you can do the same as I.”

”As for being at your city’s gates, I never intended to attack your city; I just came to have a few words with you.”

”Now, we shall take our leave, farewell!”

Having said that, Sikong Jing shouted to those behind him, ”Long Night Empire Army has visited; now, follow me back to the city.”

”Long Night Empire Army has visited, we are returning,” echoed the soldiers, laughing boisterously.

And just as Sikong Jing turned his horse around, he looked back with another smile, ”Lu Lungan, we will come again in three days... At that time, you better not fall into my trap again.”

After finishing, Sikong Jing gave the order, and still in the formation of the Long Night Snake Burning Army, they withdrew.

Thud...

Lu Lungan watched Sikong Jing leave, unable to help but spew out a mouthful of fresh blood, then continued to order the War Soul Army to attack, and he glared fiercely at the people around him, ”A trap, damn it, what trap did that Dark Wings kid set for me?”

The gazes of everyone behind him were filled with confusion...

After a while, perhaps inspired by the receding Long Night Empire Army, a Vice Commander suddenly had an epiphany.

”I understand now, the Dark Wings kid was just waiting for Commander Lu to attack forcefully. The so-called trap is...”

”Our belief that we could crush them with the Power of Anger.”
